I was tired (slept in until 8:30 this morning) but it is soooooooooo worth it. It was a "Good" tired. I want my family to know how much they are loved, how special they each are and that they are always welcomed and wanted.

Jean (sorry a little late).

Lunch was yummy. I managed to go on a mile walk, it was breezy and cold outside, but the sun was out so it was pretty too. I got in about 10 mins ago and now the sky is dark and looking like rain.

A co-worker is trying out a smart car. I had a good look at it while I was outside. Very cute. I'm not so sure they would drive well with all the hills we have around here. In Holland, they are very popular. Holland is also flat so the engine wouldn't have to work so hard. I'm surprised they only get 40mpg since they are so small and have a 3 cylinder engine.

I saw lots of smart cars when we went to Rome. They're probably just the thing for all those tiny streets and miniscule parking spaces!

Do you see many where you live Ailuros?

I just dont think they are the thing for driving 70mph up and down steep hills. In downtown Seattle, they are probably just fine. My hubby's Bora(Jetta) gets much better mileage using diesel (and alot more power too).

Good morning, everybody .

I'm getting psyched up ready for my visitors who arrive tomorrow (nephew, niece & their friend - all aged 20-ish). Also getting beds ready and stocking up on extra food. What are your plans for today?

This morning I saw my lowest weight this year! 116.2.

Wow, Ailuros, were you trying to get that low? I dont think I've been 116lbs since I was 9 maybe.

This morning I am trying oil pulling for the first time. I'm doing it with sesame oil, expeller pressed, couldn't find cold pressed. I'll let you know later how it went, I'm still swishing. My mouth is tired, and the roof of my mouth feels dry.

I was 107 in my late teens, 110 in early twenties, maybe 115 by the time I was thirty. The rate of increase accelerated after that! But 116 doesn't feel too low - I'm only 5' 2".

The boys are going to do our garden for us - they've just set up in business together gardening. They're also planning to hit the shops (we live in a bigger town than theirs), and we're taking them out for dinner one evening. They also like to see what weird things we're cooking up, and to sample a selection from my husband's wine cellar.

I haven't tried oil pulling yet, but I'll be interested to hear how you get on.

My teeth feel smooth now. My mouth was definately tired when I got done. I swished for ten minutes before my mouth got too full of saliva so I spit it out and did a second round.

I bought vegetable seeds yesterday (half price):

Jalepenos
Bell Peppers
Lettuce
Baby Carrots
Cauliflower
Cabbage
Onions (hubby said he liked to start them from sets, but we'll try the seeds anyway)
Basil
Thai Basil
Cilantro
Dill

I'll get tomato plants when they are ready.

I think our "garden" is just what you'd call a yard. Ours is mostly stone paving, with shrubs in beds. They're mostly just going to be trimming the shrubs and getting rid of weeds. They might jetwash the stones, to get rid of the moss and green slime that accumulates. I don't really know - it was pretty much their idea to come and do it, but we're neither of us gardeners, so we're happy to let the boys loose on it .

Tooter? L&F? Are you OK? Hippie, Jean, Pear, Cheryl, Kiki, Lisa, hope you're all doing well. Drop in and give us an update if you get time .

We have sunshine and blue skies here this morning, and it's expected to be about 50 (it's about 35 now). I'm just about to go out and buy enough food to feed three young adults for a few days . This is when I could use some of Tooter's vouchers .

Good Morning! *taking a sip of coffee* I can't believe that Easter is this Sunday. It doesn't feel like it should be easter yet.

Today I am stepping up my exercise. Spring is coming, which means Summer followers...Which means the "Lake", which means "Swimsuits". Gotta get things toned up.

Lost and Found, how is it going on the job front? I realize you are extremely busy with school and working. If you could check in with us and give us a an update, please do!

Jean, you have been on my mind alot lately. How are you doing? Have you gotten back into your routine? Have you been going out for Coffee with your Buddy, like you did before? Are you keeping busy? I've been worried about you. Please check in.

Hippiegirl, I have been thinking about you too. How is everything going? Were you able to sell the things you wanted to?

Pear, you need to have a cyber knitting class and teach us how to knit like you can. My only worry is if I could sit still long enough to actually knit!! Maybe you could tie me up in a chair and teach me. lol

Ailuros, be prepared to be eaten out of house and home!! Young people do tend to eat more then us old farts. Not that we are super old, but we are older. lol Feeding all the kids on the weekends, I am amazed at what the "girls" can "put away". I used to be like that, ah...the metabolism of the young!

Yellowrose, must have run away with her Trainer and Kiki left her husband for some Country Music Star!

I would love to have a real "Garden". I have tried a little bit...But it didn't work out well, because we have alot of rock, clay and shale in our ground. It would take getting truckloads of topsoil delivered to our house (after we have dug up a place for it). Combine that with all the Deer we have... It just seems like alot of work that I don't have alot of time for.

I did do the Potted Garden (before we started boating) and that worked really well, but with us going to the lake all the time...That won't work. On the really HOT days of summer, those pots need to be watered daily. If I'm gone for a few days...The pots get too much sun and the plants completely dry out. It's a shame...I truly do enjoy watching things grow.

I do have some wildflowers that I planted near the woods. I love watching them bloom.

No, he hasn't used that one. He may weigh twice as much as I do, but he always says that I'm bigger than him really . He was brought up in a very matriarchal family. I appreciate more and more what a good training that was .

Morning all,

Tooter, you could try square foot gardening in raised beds, thats what we're doing. But if you're gone all the time in the summer, it wouldn't work for you, plants like to be watered.

Weight is still holding steady.

Click, I've been wondering how you are doing?

Where are RMAE, Cheryl, Yellowrose?

Waves to Jean and Hippie.

Pear, I had thought about the raised garden...It would be much better then the potted garden and it could go a day or 2 without being watered and not die.

I'll keep it in mind and see what I can do this year. Now, what do I do about the deer? LOL

Actually my son's said to save the Hair when we get hair cuts and put it around the Garden. It's supposed to keep animals away from it.

With My luck, someone would think I had buried a body in my Garden!! ROFLMAO

We bought the square foot gardening book and in it they suggest making covers out of rabbit wire/metal mesh to keep the critters away. Pretty nifty system. This will be our first garden.

I've heard about hair around the garden, I wonder if that actually works.

Ailuros, I am sure you will love what they do to your garden. Can we see pictures?

It is nice and sunny here, also, about 62 degrees and nice walking weather. I was just out 50 minutes and enjoyed every minute of it.
