Do any of you garden? With the price of food lately, we're looking at Square Foot Gardening.
What low carb veggies should I grow? I was thinking of starting with leek, cabbage, tomatoes and lettuce. There must be some more tasty ones... Is asparagus low carb? artichokes? |

Tooter, I can't believe how big she's getting!
Pear, asparagus is low carb. Are you thinking of Jerusalem artichokes (aka sunchokes - a root veg) or globe artichokes (the thistly ones)? |

I don't know
.Did you have a good sleep? I've been hungry all day today. I keep eating and eating, and I'm still hungry. Usually, when I'm hungry for a few days I lose weight, until eventually I succeed in eating enough to fend off the hunger, then it stops. I don't know why it happens, but I've spotted the pattern before. |

Morning gals, Oops afternoon...
I had the worst cramps this morning. I kept getting dizzy and fainting in the shower, then broke out in a cold sweat after I managed to get back to bed and then I had to throw up and my cramps were so bad I thought I was giving birth. Needless to say I stayed home from work. I just got up. I wonder if perhaps being dehydrated could do that or lack of a certain vitamin. Maybe this is tied to the leg cramps and lack of pottasium. |

Hope you're feeling better, Pear. And that you didn't give birth .I think the same things that help with leg cramps are supposed to help - maybe start taking them a few days ahead next time and see if it's easier? |

Thanks Ailuros
I am feeling much better now. Still feeling weak but no longer dizzy. Hubby brought me some potassium from the store, and I took my vitamins (forgot last weekend). Tomorrow I'll take the multi with iron in them in case I've become anemic (not likely). I've noticed lately that my hands seem so much younger. I dont need to use lotion any more. Some of the old scars are starting to heal. Amazing!!! |

![]() ![]() Hello...everyone!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Tooter...Irelyn is such a little cutie. I can not believe how much she has changed!!!! She does look like you alot. The time change thing...always gets me!!!! I get up, and it's still dark....it makes me feel tired for some reason. Ailuros...How's it going? Are you still hungry today? Pear...Have you ever had a garden before? This year, it will seem weird to me, as I've always had a garden. I've always grown tomatos, potatos, green pepper, onion, sweet corn, cucumbers, green beans, peas, carrots, and different types of lettuces. For berries I grew: strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. To grow asparagus...you should have a small plot to dedicate to only asparagus, as you will want to plant alot of it. It can not be disturbed, as it takes a couple of years to "produce", and it comes back every year. |

Ailuros, Thank you for the Coffee.
The "Kids" Car wouldn't start this morning, so I am going over there to Take Irelyn and her Mommy to Irelyn's Doctor's appt. It's just a regular check up. Their car seems to do this on wet/damp days. We need to get it into the shop to get it looked at and fixed. Pear, I hope you feel better today. ![]() Lostandfound, you hang in there!!!! ![]() |

Good morning gals:
I'm feeling better than yesterday morning but still very weak. Click, this would by our first garden. We havent had the time nor desire to do one before, but to cut the high cost of food, we've decided to add one in. We're trying Square Foot Gardening, have you heard of that? We have a nice place in front of the garage door in the backyard that reflects alot of light. We live in a heavily treed area so that would be the best place on the property. We'll do a 4 x 8' bed and a 4 x 4' bed to start. Hang in there, something good will happen soon. Where are your interviews today? Ailuros, that is not one of my photos, I wish it was, it looks so peaceful up there. I really should dig into my photos more, I have some really pretty ones of Mt. Rainier. |

Pear, I'm glad to hear you're on the mend.
Tooter, hope the appointment went well. It's all quiet here, because my husband's off at meetings today. I'm going to have another look at Gary Taubes's book this afternoon. See you later . |

Pear, I used to get Cramps like that. KILLER! I would have to be in bed for an entire day. I couldn't do anything.
The Doctor told me if I would take Tylenol BEFORE the cramps hit, I could keep it under control. If I waited until they hit...It was too late and the tylenol would do nothing. |
