WOOOOOOOOOO-WEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
BOY.......DOES my pee ever stink this morning!!!! ![]() The youngest doesn't like asparagus. So, last night, I ended up eating ALL of it myself!!!!! pew-weee!!!!!!!!!!! Why does asparagus do that? None-the less....it was good!!!! The local grocery store has a sale on it this week. So, it was a good treat....and all of the butter that I ate with it helped give me the stamina to do all of that physical activity last night....and I'm not talking about Jean's type of physical activity neither!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

There is a local grower (I hope that they still are around)...that grows asparagus, and in the spring...you can walk the fields, and pick the stuff fresh....and it's cheap too!!!! If I remember correctly....I think that they let the field go, as I don't recall seeing the sign last year. HHHmmmm.....I hope that they are still open for business.
![]() I used to go, and pick the stuff by the paper grocery bags full, bring it home, and even dehydrated some of it for cream of asparagus soup in the winter. We...the ex and I...would go Morrel mushroom hunting. For a meal....I'd flour up the mushrooms, fry them up in butter, and we'd have a bunch of fresh asparagus with it. We loved these two things soooo much that we made a meal out of them. |

. That sounds wonderful. Especially the mushrooms. It's much too early for local asparagus here - we won't have any for another couple of months, I think. Then all the stalls appear at the farmers market. But we have a few more months of cabbage ahead of us yet! |

I couldn't get in for a little while, either.
Side note: Amazingly, I'm not hung over today! ![]() I hardly ever ever ever drink, so basically drinking a bottle of wine should have done me in. I stayed up 'til midnight, and then naturally woke up a half hour before the alarm went off (6am). I was having such a stress attack yesterday - I think I needed the steam blow-off or something. I'm clearing out my store today and tomorrow, and because of this whole situation (I sold it in Dec and the guy never paid me - I've been on financial pins and needles for way too many months!) my mind has been racing, but not getting anywhere. *sigh* Hopefully the sale will go well, and I'll figure something out to make money in the meantime. Sorry to unload, just felt like getting it off my chest. ![]()

Lunch today was ... strange. During the morning, I was thinking about what I would have. Suddenly, I decided that what I wanted was raw fish
. So I went to the fishmonger, bought a piece of salmon, sliced it up and ate it. Six ounces, without even any sauce or salt or anything . I really enjoyed it, even though normally I can't eat a whole plateful of any one thing, and my normal lunch would be closer to three ounces of meat than six. Then, in an effort to make it seem sort of normal, I had some avocado and tomato, then blueberries and cream. Then coffee and cream.Dinner will be a bit late again, so I had some chicken liver pate spread on endive leaves as a snack. I was joking with my husband the other day about my taste for increasingly rare meat, and that when people talk about "raw food" diets they don't usually mean meat (this was after I'd eaten steak tartar in a restaurant). I really do seem to be wanting my food less and less cooked (apart from the veggies). ![]() I promise to cook the sausages we're having for dinner . |

I DO tend to like my Meat Rare! VERY RARE! I hear it is actually better for us, that way. We get more nutrients out of it. Raw, eh? I've had Nova, but that is Seasoning smoked, isn't it? It's VERY thin Salmon and has alot of flavor. I like in a little Redneck/hick town. FishMonger? I WISH!!!! The only fish I can get is frozen.I SOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo Envy you, with your market and shops for fresh food. As I said before, it's always been a Dream of mine to shop that way.
