You have alot of traffic too in Houston? How long does it take to get to work? It takes me about 30-40 mins (20 miles). It takes my boss between 1- 3 hours (40 miles) in the morning.

I don't know how I missed it but that's wonderful for your hubby, very exciting!

I just take my kid to school then back home, it's not far. The problem is the area I live in has gotten very busy and to get out of my own neighborhood is hard, the little road now has traffic of a freeway!!! And, you can look out my back window ( 2 story ) and they are building a new gas station with a McDonalds in it.

No, they decided to carry on with the small one and get it fixed after they get home. We did suggest they stay tonight with us, so they could get a replacement here, but they didn't want to do that. I think after a week away they just wanted to get home. It was good to see them, anyway. And they'd bought us a little alabaster statue of Bast, which was funny because they don't know she's my screen persona . My husband does, so he was amused (he was around because he was working at home today).

Well we'll keep them in our thoughts, that they have no problems getting home. How far do they have to travel home?

I'm embarassed, now I need to google Bast...

It's about 150 miles.

Just to help you join the dots, Ailuros is the Greek name for the Egyptian cat goddess Bast/Bastet. The reason I ended up picking a Greek name for an Egyptian goddess is that there are so many members here, all the more straightforward names were already taken .

The speed limit on motorways is 70 mph, but they'd need to keep to a bit less than that with the temporary wheel. And parts of the route are likely to be pretty congested at that time of the afternoon. It normally takes us about 3 hours. Maybe half an hour less if things are really clear. Lots more if it's a bad day.

Yeah, they'll have to go slower... Well, I hope they make it OK. Let us know...

The interview went well. There is one other person in the running for this position, so we have to wait and see. I guess we should hear in about a week or so. Hubby is cautiously optimistic.

Good morning everybody .

Pear, was the interview the same company that had an opportunity he'd missed out on, or someone different? Hope you get some good news, anyway.

L&F where are you? I hope you're doing OK.

I didn't hear from my parents last night, but we're not a family that always phones to say we've arrived. I know I'd have heard from my SIL if they hadn't got back safely.

I'll be doing a yoga course this weekend, so I won't be around much.

Well, it's back to strict Low carb for me. Not that I had been going "Crazy" or anything...

My Body just doesn't like it, nor does it feel as well...Unless it's strict low carb with just a few add ins.

*banging my head against the wall*

I haven't had IBS come back yet, but I'm feeling more tired etc...

Who knows where my weight will be at? I'm not going to worry about it. It's about feeling good and being healthy. It might just be "Lower" where I was before. I'm not going to worry about it and I'm going to stay away from the scales.

I think I'm going to go back to bed and take a nap. That's what snow days are for, right? That, and I'm Pulling a Scarlett O'hara. I don't want to worry about it right now.

You all have a FANTASTIC DAY!! I'll check in with you later.

I hope you feel better after your nap, Tooter. I'm yet again going the same way as you. I'm not sure whether it's too many carbs, or the fact that my "too many" always end up coming from the same source (wheat ). Anyway, I've been feeling very sneezy and itchy for the last few days, so I'm getting back to basics too - but with the addition of cutting eggs out for a while, because I know when I eat them my mouth feels a bit itchy, so I think it's wise to avoid them while my immune system calms down. I'm not going to worry too much if I get extra carbs from fresh fruit, because I'm not a great fruit eater, so that's not likely to get out of hand like the wheat.
