I have really been enjoying the conversation about the woe of the 50's. Dinner growing up was also meat, potatoes and vegetables. Often a soup beforehand. Pop definately was a treat, and we almost NEVER went out to eat. As that changed, so did my waistline. I grew up in the 70's and 80's. In the 80's the junk food came into my life. Earlier on, when I was little I was normal size. In junior high, I was already considered fat.

Anyhow, great news, I've finally broken my low, I'm at 209 this morning *happy dance* I hope that the losses continue for a little while. Its the first pound off since 1/25.

Jean, Doing the Happy Dance for Pear. Congratulations!

Just stopping in to say..."HI!!!"

My youngest, and I, are pretty much prepared for tomorrow. The belongings from the basement are in the garage, and "most' of the attic is emptied into the garage....just some boxes left up there. Boy...am I sore and tired!!!!

I get the truck at 8:00 am. We're hoping to have her loaded in a decent amount of time.

Will stop in tomorrow...before putting the computer up for the long journey!!!!

RockyMtnAngelEyes!!!! Glad to have you here with us!!!!!

Everyone else....I'm happy for all of your succeses, and glad for all of your ideas.

Click, have a safe trip. I'll be praying for you to get settled in, find a job quickly and hope to see you back on the board as soon as possible.

Pop in and let us know that you're ok, even if you need to go to the library to do it, ok?

Godspeed, Click! I'll be thinking about you! Have a safe trip, and enjoy walking around you OWN apartment in your underwear (when the kiddo's at school or asleep, of course ) and making as much noise cleaning as you want, and watching what you want to watch on tv, and staying up as late as you want, and not having to sneak around to cook and do homework, and getting to make all the recipes you've been wanting to try out, and hanging out with your friends who must miss you terribly!!!!!

Oh, I'm so excited for you!!!!!

Welcome, Kiki .

L&F have a safe journey. And get back on line as soon as you possibly can .

Tooter, I'm sure I have more food reflections coming soon . One thought is that because of the way most of us overdid things along the way, it isn't always enough to just go back to the old "normal" ways, we sometimes need a bit more. For instance, diabetics need tighter carb control, and if we're part of the way there, we need to have some extra care.

Oh, I Totally agree. I Couldn't just go back to that and be ok, but it is a little bit of a Guideline, in the sense of when you add in a higher in carb meal. Keep it to one starch and watch the portion....as opposed to eating a 4 coarse, 4 starch meal. Did that make sense? To me, that one meal was going back to how I used to eat as a kid. Kinda of a help you rule, for a meal that isn't totally low carb.

Kiki, we were talking about how we ate when we were kids and how all that drastically changed in the 70's.

Good morning everyone!!! Afternoon to you...Ailuros!!!

I am soooo sore this morning!!!! The youngest and I worked very hard getting everything to the garage, but I think that we will be glad that we did it today. We thought that if everything was in the garage, it would be easier today...carrying everything down to the truck. Atleast it's all right there!!!!! NO MORE STAIRS....here atleast. The fun part will be getting it all up to the third floor...when we get there!!! Atleast, we will have some help from old neighbors and friends. My Dad and brother didn't help us yesterday, nor did they help when we first got here...lazy a$$e$!!!! I'll show them!!!! They will be surprised at my abilities!!!

Yes!!! I am "VERY" excited to get out of here, but the excitement is kind of clouded right now with worry!!! That drive...with the truck and trailor...is scary to me!!!! Also, the worry of finding work right away...or we're sunk...is scary to me too!!!! I just hope and pray that EVERYTHING is a smooth journey getting there, and after with finding a job!!!!

Well, I'll check in later...before packing up my laptop!!!!

Thanks for all of your support, good wishes, and love!!!

Love,
Your Clicky

P.S.S.

I ate a Milky Way yesterday!!! Naughty Clicky....AGAIN!!!

It had been sooo long since eating "real chocolate" that at first it made my mouth pucker!!!! BUT....it was good!!!!!

One good thing....when I, also, ate ONE Lays Potato chip...after this long...it tasted greasy and yucky!!!! That's good...because the salty, crunchy things were my LARGEST downfall...besides noodles and bread....and Chinese food!!!! (TeeHeeHee)

You can do this drive.

Most of us can get a way with an occasional bit of chocolate or something, but don't let that fool you into thinking you're OK to eat it all the time. After a few times, and maybe before you see an effect on your weight, you start to find yourself wanting more and more. Now would be a good time to stop .

We'll be thinking about you on your journey - and afterwards, when you get into job-hunting and settling into your new home.

Good day...Ailuros!!!!

When I meant side-effects...I meant the other one's that are not one the scale!!!! I'm not weighing myself again...until I find my "own" scale...and put batteries in it!!!! Then, I will need to start from "that" reading.

I know that I will stop....because I want to!!!! Like I said...I don't know "why" I ate it????

Thanks for thinking about me!!!!

Click wuvs you!!!!

Well, busy day today. I'm going shopping again (My new hobby) and then I'm picking hubby up at work and we are going out to dinner. We decided to wait and go tonight, instead of last night.

I'm not really hungry this morning. I'll have scrambled eggs and bacon later as a "Brunch".

Dinner will be at a steakhouse and I will have a salad with Blue cheese dressing, Ribeye steak (cooked rare) and steamed veggies with but-tah!!!

Yesterday was shopping with my coupons...Today will be window shopping and looking for fun/good deals that we might need for the house.
