I was just reading on Wifezilla's blog her reasons why she would continue to eat low carb even if she didnt lose another pound. Excellent list...

If I Never Lost Another Pound, I Would Still Eat Low Carb Because...

• Eating low carb reduces my chance of developing type 2 diabetes*.
• Eating low carb does not cause inflammation and blood vessel damage like eating carbohydrates and sugars does*.
• Eating low carb means I am eating less processed foods, and I think Monsanto and ConAgra have enough money already.
• Eating low carb also means I am supporting small local farmers because I shop at farmer's markets instead of the super market whenever possible.
• My eating low carb makes militant vegetarians seriously pissed off and I find that amusing.
• That goes double for PETA members.
• Did I mention I like meat?
• I never turn down an excuse to use my bbq grill.
• Eating low carb reduces my chances of developing heart disease*.
• I am no longer plagued by constant hunger pains.
• Since I stopped eat grains, I fart a lot less (seriously).
• I no longer get the shakes and break out in a cold sweat from a blood sugar crash even though I have just eaten about an hour earlier.
• I'll take any excuse I can get to keep eating cheese.
• I can easily eat this way for the rest of my life without being miserable.
• By eating low carb I have less monthly bloating.
• Eating low carb does not deplete my body of vitamins like high carbohydrate food does*.
• Heavy cream ... droooooollllll
• Eating low carb reduces the ability of cancer cells to develop and spread in my body (more).
• Eating low carb is healthier for my skin and reduces collagen damage (more) - I have enough wrinkles already!
• Because I really love putting melted butter on stuff.
• Bacon!

Are these enough reasons for you to continue with low carb eating? Enough reasons for you to look beyond the scale? Enough reasons for you to consider starting? If nothing else, it will give you something to think about.

Wifezilla's Way

Thanks wifezilla! I needed to read that.

Sorry I have been AWOL and here is lil ole Pear all by her lonesome.

Pear, David asked what side of Seattle you are on that you have had such heavy snow.

It has been very cool here for our part of the country, I can't wait for those 70's again.

My Dr. put me on Zocor for cholesterol and I now have to watch my saturated fat intake. I have a cholesterol patch over each eye on my eyelid so I can imagine what my arteries look like. I have read the theories about food not causing cholesterol but I am afraid to take the chance at my age.

So, I guess I'll eat Smart Balance butter and mayo and avoid some of the fattier meats that I love. . I wonder how successful I can be on this woe with reduced fat! I will sure miss the bark after all I went through to adjust to VCO.

Jean, missed you!

I'm east of Seattle in the foothills. The snow is gone now. I just complain alot when we get it

Actually, we still have Roberto, the snowblob, in the yard.

I have heard so many people say that low carb, high fat lowers your cholesterol. Its funny that you have to go on Zocor. Has your cholesterol gone down since you started low carb?

Be careful with low cal/low carb, ok? If you feel funky on it, you need to make some changes.

I smell old fruit!!!

I'm just kidding with you!!!!

I've been busy running here and running there...and trying to get my schoolwork ahead. It seems a little difficult to do....right when it feels that I am ahead...more is assigned. Oh...well!!! I'll do the best that I can.

I will know on Monday what, where, and when I'm moving....the manager at the apartment that I will be renting will let me know my status for sure on Monday. If I get it....I hope/need to find work "RIGHT AWAY!!!"

Jean, I'm sorry about your doctor's visit. I hope that you still come here to see us!!!

I've just been really busy. Between going back into the "office", my couponing and getting things done around the house, there isn't alot of "spare" time. But the good news is that I have been very productive!

Got my new contacts yesterday!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon everyone!!!! Got a lot done this morning, laundry, pool filter cleaned, bathrooms spiffied up and now relaxing.

Got on the scale this morning and lost 1#. So at least it is in the right direction. Now if I could just stick to SF jello in the evening instead of cashews I'd be a happy camper.

Ran outside to see if I could see the launch that took place at Cape Canaveral .... but it is too cloudy. Darn it all. I guess the launch was successful. The only time we can see it is if they schedule it around sunset .... then we can see the fire as it goes up.... Even though we are across the state from the Cape when it gets high enough it is visible.

Hope all of you are well today .... and don't forget for all the Survivor enthusiasts - their first show is on tonight.v

I'm still here too, just working. Its lunchtime right now.

WTG Cheryl! Glad the scale is being kind! You've been really busy with your house. It must be sparkling!

Tooter, you've been very productive also! Thats neat you can save so much money on your groceries.

Ailuros, I hope you're feeling better soon!

My funk drags on, been real tired and cold lately. I think I'm getting a touch of a cold. DD has a cold already. I'm getting some alka-seltzer on the way home.

Maybe a big pot of hot and sour soup will perk me up... hmmm... yummy.

Click, I hope you can get caught up on your homework and get a little ahead, that sure would be nice to have one less worry. I'm still keeping my stem crossed that you get the apartment. I can't imagine them turning you down. Is it a lease or month to month? I think you're doing the right thing by stepping out on your own instead of waiting on the low income housing, you'd probably be twittling your thumbs for a year before they call you.

Oh...Pear!!! I'm sorry that you don't feel well!!!

I am still trying to get as much ahead as possible. Not only would it be one less headache to deal with while moving, but also, my classes are all on-line. I'm not sure if I'll have internet the "day" that I get there. So, it would be nice to be safe...instead of sorry. (Some would just hand in things late...and except the poor grade. I have a hard time excepting poor grades.)

Thanks for keeping your stems crossed for me!!! They offer all different leases. I think that they charge more for going month to month. The only thing that I am worried about (not waiting for income-based housing)...is that I will find a good enough job, and fast, to survive. I would hate to end up in a position of not having money for rent.
