Lost and Found,

It took me at least a week to feel like joining society again, that's exactly what I wanted to do, sleep. Just hang in there and I promise next week you will feel better than you have for awhile.

Your body is adjusting,. I think your body is also trying to heal. Just give it time and stay focused on better health and make sure you eat enough good carbs.

Jean

15 years ago, before there was much publicity about advance directives, I was tragically faced with my family being in crisis over end of life decision making. My sister was only 31. One night we were giggling the very next morning she was in a coma. 2 days later on life support. I remember not knowing what her wishes were. We'd had so many conversations about boys, lipsticks, shoes, weddings, jewelry, our kids, our parents, hair products, our husbands, the beach, diets....you name it, but we never talked about dying. I remember that warm, kind nurse that answered me when I demanded more platelets.... (they were the only thing that was keeping her alive.) holding my hand say that if she were her sister she'd let her go. I know that nurse thinks that what she said didn't matter, because I cried and told her she wasn't her sister and to get the platelets....but what she said mattered so much that it haunted me. I should have been advocating my sister's wishes, but I didn't know what they were. Now my life is dedicated to educating people so that they won't be in that sad, horrible position. The doctors didn't know how to deal with death. I'm hellbent on turning out more compassionate docs. and more educated patients.
I'm sure your sister would be so proud of you. God bless you, Winslow.

Very nice family Picture...Winslow!!!! Your sister was so-o-o-o lucky to have a sister like you!!!! I bet your nephew is happy that he has you too!!!!
Now, I understand why you are so passionate about your work!!! Atleast you enjoy what you are doing...because it's important!!!

I'm sorry that you had to loose such a good friend and sister all rolled-up in one....did you ever notice that you got to experience more than many sisters/friends experience living a long life?

Are BIG HUGE headaches normal....I have a doosy?

I just feel sore all over, brick **** house!!! Like a HUGE hang-over...and I didn't even enjoy myself!!!

Here's what I've had so far today:

scrammbled eggs
bacon

pork rinds

two deviled eggs...dipped in mayo

Prospective dinner...IF IT'S NOT CONTAMINATED!!!!!!

Vegetable soup (ham bone boiled in water for the broth)
BUT SOMEONE, IN THEIR CHOICE OF VEGETABLES, ALSO PUT A COUPLE OF DICED POTATOS IN THE BROTH...along with the other vegetables!!!!! DID THAT RUIN THE BROTH? Or, is it safe if I pick out the potatos?
Ham rolled up in lettuce with mayo.
(Soup and sandwich!!! Tee Hee Hee!!!! )

Hopefully, someone can let me know if this is safe.....it's almost dinner time!!!!

Don't freak. Always try to make the "Better Choice". Picking the potatoes out would be just fine.

Lost and found, it sounds like you are going through the Carb Detox. Hang in there, just a few more days and you should be feeling all the benefits of eating low carb. Your body is adjusting and cleaning it's self out.

It makes ya realize just how toxic all that sugar and starch is to our bodies.

You are doing great.

Thanks for those warm, kind words. You know, I was always such a boss. If I could have her back for just one day I wouldn't boss her around! The truth is, I thought I'd have her forever.

Do you think that this is why the scale isn't moving? You saw what I am eating...and I'm also drinking 100 ounces of water a day!!!

I do not think that I am over-eating, and I do not think that I am even eating 20 carbs?!?!

It could be. Like I said, just hang in there. A Stall is actually the scales NOT moving nor losing any inches for over a month. You aren't in a stall, it's only been 5 days and you have lost 2 pounds. Your body is still adjusting to burning fat and processing real food (as opposed to burning carbs and storing them AS fat) Patience, grasshopper. I bet you will have a "whoosh" soon.

Yah!!! After losing someone close, it seems that one may feel different about life. I lost my first son to crib death....I never expected that!!!! Now, I always fear that maybe there won't be a tomorrow, a next week, or another holiday with those I love. So, I try to show them how much I care every day...like tomorrow will never come!!!

Your sister probably, deep down, enjoyed you bossing her around. She probably, also, came to you for advice...due to your bossiness!!!

I sure hope that "whoosh" comes soon!!! Everyone else seems to lose during induction!!!! My body is so freaky...it always seems to do the opposite of what it should...or of what people expect!!! Like my blood pressure going down with pregnancies!?!?
