Tooter, you are just too funny.

Yes, I have had the "SCUD missile" story forwarded to me several times. I can't believe I am meeting the author...Woo Hoo! Kids can be so funny and I loved your story.

Can you tell me how to use the option "Quote message in reply", I can't get the tick to take.

Jean
I just always hit the button at the bottom of the post that says "QUOTE". That then brings up up the message box for you to post with the other post quoted and you just ad your post after that.

I don't know if that helped or not.

jeanran, yep, kids are funny. I had 4 sons in 6 years. BELIEVE ME, never a dull moment around my house. OMG, the stories I could tell.

There was the one time when I had just "HAD IT" and needed a break from the boys. The oldest was about 13. It was one of those days that either I got a little break or I killed the little darlings, ya know what I mean? If I didn't get a break I was going to end up as a "Special" on the National Geography channel about how the "Tooter" Animal eats it's own young.

We were supposed to go to a Picnic that afternoon at the Country club. So, I asked the oldest to watch his brothers while I ran to "Walmart" to pick up a few things for the picnic. I wasn't going to be gone that long. Just long enough to re-charge and pick up the things I needed.

I went to wal-mart, got what I needed and was ready to face the "Troops" again. I walk into the house and the house was quiet, except for the TV. I peek into the living room and there are all 4 boys watching TV together like little angels. Hmm...Something is not right here. Then the 2nd Son looks up at me and says with an angelic smile "Hello, Mother, did you have a good time at Wal-mart"? The hairs on the back of my neck stood up. MOTHER? They never call me "Mother", it's always "Mom".

My heart starts pounding and I can feel what is like a panic attack coming on. Something is "not right"! Not right at all!!! My Eyes scan around the room to see what is out of place or broken. I don't see anything, but I can feel the panic in me getting stronger. I scan around the room again, and then it hits me. 3rd son has a baseball hat on. I quickly say "Take the hat off". He takes it off and I inspect him. He has a huge bald spot in the back of his head!

I start yelling "What Happened" and I'm in a panic because in 20 minutes we are due to be at the picnic!!!

Well, it would seem that the 3rd son was being a pain in the Dupa, so 1st and 2nd son decide to duct tape him to a chair. They also decide to Duct tape his mouth (to shut him up) and taped his mouth with the duct tape completely around his head and on his hair. When they figured that I would be home soon, they took the duct tape off of him, but when they got to the part on the hair, 3rd son screamed and wouldn't let them pull anymore. He ran upstairs, locked himself in the bathroom and cut the tape out of his hair himself!

So, What did I do? I quickly got the Hair clippers out and fashioned him a new "Bowl" cut that was a little "High and tight"!! LMAO. Who knew that we would start a little "Fad" in our Hick town. Weeks later, all the kids were sporting them.

Yeah, never a dull moment.

Wow that sounds like a very important class, Winslow. I can imagine how difficult it must be for the doctors to have to tell a family something like that.

I have some more Painting to do today (and other stuff). It's starting to look Great. I'll try and pop in on my breaks.

As far as meals today?

Breakfast is soon to be 3 eggs cooked medium and then mashed with butter, salt/pepper.

Lunch? Dinner? I'm not sure yet. I haven't done alot of Planning for meals today. I'm sure it will be something quick.

I'm not sure about lunch yet either, and it's ten to one. Time to start thinking!

Rut Roh, Shaggy!! Does that mean you're going to get the "White Glove" treatment? Is the Clean Police coming over for lunch? If she finds a "Dust Bunny", just tell her that PETA has Designated your house as a "Safe House" for the endangered Dust Bunny! Hey, that's MY story, and "I'm" Sticking to it! Then just feed her some of your wonderful cooking and she'll forget all about it.

Have a GREAT Lunch, Dottie.

Here I am :wave Nothing much new to report. Hubby's car is at the shop for a new timing belt. His knee is giving him alot of trouble. I hope he gets to feeling better soon.

Hubby and I went to the mexican last night, I had a salad with chicken and I put a couple bowls of salsa on top (love their salsa), and now I'm up two pounds. Grrr!

First week total: one pound loss. Too much Thanksgiving for one week I guess.

I managed to rustle up some lunch . We had chicken and mushroom soup (used up some leftover chicken from a few days ago, together with mushrooms from last weekend's farmers market, and lots of cream). Dinner will be a beef casserole, which is simmering all afternoon in the oven - with some green veggies, probably brussels sprouts.

HI!!! Everyone!!!!

Today is a brand new day!!!

Hopefully, today will be easier...it is my fourth day....and I've stuck to the plan!!!!

This morning I put a small amount of real butter in a pan and scrammbled * 2 eggs. (Put a little garlic salt and cayenne pepper on them too!!)
* Bacon
* 32 ounces of water

For lunch I will probably have :
* 2 boiled eggs
* tuna salad wrapped in lettuce leaves
* 32 ounces of water

Dinner: This is where I need help from you guys!!!
Here is what I am planning:
* broiled Chicken Breast
* steamed broccoli with butter
* Salad with dressing (Lettuce, tomato, cucumber, mushrooms)
Does the broccoli and salad contain many carbs....are vegetables...during induction...a no-no?

What about fruit: oranges, bananas, apples? I'm assuming that the natural sugar in these fruits will ruin my carb count for the day if I were to eat one of them? Right?!?

This really seems like a strange way of eating to me....or should I say different!!! I always have thought of dieting as very small amounts of food....and for sure no bacon, eggs, or mayo!!!!!! This will take awhile for the guilt feelings I have while eating these things to go away!!!!

Do you guys know if it is true that 40 minutes of exercise atleast 3 times/week turns your metabolism around? My metabolism is ruined from my sleep apnea...my doctor says. I read somewhere that if one exercises (walk primarily) 40 minutes (2 miles)/3 times per week...or more, that the metabolism can be fixed!!!! I'm trying to correct the sleep apnea problem.... going at it full steam ahead...I can not sleep with a machine. So, I need to correct the problem the hard way!!! Go against everything in my body that is wrong and correct it by losing 95-100 pounds!!!! But, the metabolism thing needs to be fixed to...or I will probably end-up right back where I am!!!

L&F, during induction you can eat about 3 cups of salad or two cups of salad and one cup of other LC veggies (broccoli would be a good choice), so that looks fine. It takes a while to get used to eating fat without guilt, doesn't it? But it's worth making the effort .

I don't know about the effect of exercise on sleep apnea, but I do know that it's one of the conditions that's often helped by low carb eating. I hope you're one of the lucky ones!

Thanks for the veggie info!!!

What About Fruit?????

Yes!!! I do feel VERY GUILTY EATING FAT!!!!

The doctor explained sleep apnea to be like a snowball!!! It even has effected my heart...I now have a murmur due to the lack of oxygen during the night!!! So, I have this machine that I'm suppose to use at night...prevents sleep apnea!!! However, I can not sleep with the thing on my face with hoses attached to it. So, that is why I'm trying to roll the snowball uphill!!! I'm going against all of the signals that my body is telling my brain...the machine would be easier!!!

The doctor explains it like this:

Due to my brain waking me up enough to breathe 5-7 times per hour, I am sleep deprived. Due to being sleep deprived my body craves carbs to keep going. Also, due to the sleep deprivation my metabilism has basically shut down...to conserve energy. Hence, fast weight gain...and lots of it!!!! Which, then in return, makes my sleep apnea get worse. Then, my cravings and metabolism get worse...and so on...and so on!!! Large snowball effect.

So, I've decided to Fight this thing head on...I feel that I am spiraling out of control!!!!!!
