Hi gals:

The family party is over and I'm back home now. We got snow today! My first white Christmas ever!

I didn't cheat today, although it was mighty tempting.

B: Coffee w/cream
D: 2 beef rollups and 2 servings of salad and more coffee w/cream

Merry Christmas!

Click, just stick to the plan and you'll be fine.

Remember, I had the barking spiders something awful when I did that Atkin bar thing? And I gained almost four pounds. I ate those over a four day period. You had these off plan foods only one.

Nothing is ruined now that you've eaten those bars, you have to get right back at it. It probably has stalled you a little but you'll be back to losing in no time.

Puppy Andy has an ear infection and his regular medicine isnt working anymore. I put some coconut oil in his ear last night and it settled him right down. I put some more in tonight and I havent seen him scratch his ear yet. I'm hoping that coconut oil will work for him. Poor pup. He's always had so many issues with his ears. I let him lick the oil up too, he loves it. I'm hoping that it will help him with his itchy tooshy.

Thanks, Pear!!!!

I guess that all I can hope for, on my Friday weigh in, is to still be at 209....no loss and no gain!!!!

I really wish that I hadn't weighed Christmas Eve morning. I know that it is a piss poor attitude, but had I not weighed...or better yet...had lost even just one pound, I would've stayed away from the goodies!!!!

No loss in 1 1/2 weeks gave me an excuse to indulge.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!!!

Even "I" went off Plan on Christmas day. My DIL's were shocked. They said "Mom, you NEVER Cheat"!! Um... Never say never. lol

No reason to feel any guilt. After all, it's was just a "Choice". Boy, we sure do learn from those choices, don't we? It makes you realize just how healthy low carb eating is. We knew this all along, but when you have your bodies reaction to it slapping you in the face (along with barking spiders) it becomes an even bigger reality. You realize that it might have tasted good for 2 minutes, but it sure isn't worth it.

Heck, you notice all kinds of things... Your teeth having scum on them, your stomach bloating, Barking spiders, headaches, upset tummy, exhausted...etc.
Yep, it's a learning experience. Sometimes we need to be reminded about how important this way if eating really is.

SOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo NO GUILT!! Let's just get back to our "Better Choices".

Pear, I am so glad you posted this. I never went INTO this on this site, but I have a female boxer who has allergies. The money I have spent on that dog!!!! It started when she was 4 months old. $500 in testing to tell me NOTHING!!!! Steroids to try and ease her discomfort. They would only "hold" her for about 1 1/2 weeks.

I realized that the steroids would do damage to her too. Did some research on my own.

It was mainly her ears. Long story short.

YES, The Virgin Coconut oil!!!!!!!!! It worked!

Amazing stuff.

It's also good to let them lick it and ingest it in their stomaches (kills the bad bacteria in there too, helping the same problem).

You do go slow with them. It can cause them to have the "Runs" at first, but it's wonderful for the dogs. Also makes their "Coats" shinny.

I'm so glad you found this out on your own!!

I started low carbing on Dec. 17, 2007. I cheated on day 5 with rice/cake, but since then I've been completely on plan. I have over 100lbs to lose and will try for 174lbs. I'll weigh in before the New Year.
I had lost weight on SBD but regained it due to psychiatric medication (haldol).

Okiemute!!! Stick around - lots of wisdom and lots of laughs with this group! Happy to have you!

Everyone else - Merry Merry Christmas!

I did pretty well yesterday. Had originally planned on staying completely on-plan yesterday, but did indulge in some m&m's. I DID, however, remove the twice-baked potato and roll from my plate, and just had prime rib and broccoli with alfredo sauce. yum!

I feel fine today, still feel like I have the right mindset to continue as I was - Thank God!!! I was so sick of fighting myself over this!

Tooter, so glad you're back!!!

The other night when this happened, 2am on Christmas morning, the vets weren't open and I didnt know what to do. I prayed for the little guy and coconut oil came to mind. I wasnt sure if it was poisonous like cocoa beans, but I tried it anyway. He calmed down right away and even came over to thank me in his little Andy way. He's doing so great now. I havent even seen him attack his tushy like normal.

So I read on The Coconut Diet™ about pets today. For a 20# puppy the dosage is 1 teaspoon a day. Andy is 12lbs and AJ is 8. I'm going to start giving it to them both. I havent started with AJ yet but he's been pretty grumpy lately maybe it'll help him with whatever is causing the grumpiness.

I'm really glad it is helping your boxer. It feels good to finally be able to help Andy get better, without the help of dogtors. Coconut oil is so much cheaper than ear medicine too.

AJ is the dark one, he's full bred yorkie (yorkshire terror, I mean terrier) and Andy is the blond (with the itchy ears), he's half yorkie and half westie (workie).

Yorkshire Terror!! Is it just me, or is AJ giving a sly grin in the picture? lol

Andy, is a cutie. I would have thought he was all "westie".

yes he is! AJ is a really smart pup, and knows exactly what he wants, he gets grumpy if he doesnt get it. He definately feels he needs to be pampered.

Andy's mama was a westie, so I think he takes after her. He's got a really pretty coat on his back, he has dark roots and blond tips. He tease him by telling him he cant decide whether he wants to be a westie or a yorkie.

Hippie, you are right... It IS your "Mindset". You no longer think of it as a diet you can blow. IT's a lifestyle and "Choices". That's the reason why it's different this time. That's HUGE!!!!!!!!!

"Higgins" is still considered a puppy. That pic was taken months ago. He is about 90lbs now! He'll be a year old in Feb.

The Olde English bulldogge is what the "English Bulldog" used to be (hundreds of years ago) before they bred them "down" so far. They don't have the health problems that the English Bulldog has today.

I love that picture of the two of them and their bandanas , looks like they're thinking, "when do we eat?".
