Pear,

I sure am glad to hear that the enzymes are working. I guess the real test will be with the pizza. I wish him the best. I could live without the wheat but would sure have a problem without dairy.

I hope he feels better by Christmas.

What is the brand of low carb ice cream, I hope we have it here.

Do you have your Christmas shopping done, yet?

I buy Safeway's Lucerne Watch 'N Carbs ice cream bars (ice cream covered in chocolate) for 3 carbs each. They are the best! I have one every day. Breyers makes them too.

Yes, my Christmas shopping is done, which makes me happy. I do have to brave Kohl's this afternoon though, I have a return. Are you done yet?

Just popping in to say, "Hi!!". Taking a break from creating a "quick" term paper...not the way that I like to do things....but, has been the norm for this semester...due to circumstances out of my control.

My menu today will raise many eyebrows, as I wasn't in a "place" to eat--so don't be upset:

water
diet de-caffeinated pop
pork rinds
browned hamburger and cabbage
spoonful of cream cheese
2 helpings of creamed herring---10 gr. of carbs

Click, have things cooled down?

I hope you get your midterm done successfully. It must be hard to do it in a hurry and in anger. I hope you are able to relax and put the crud behind you.

Things have not cooled down...because I won't just set his (Dad's---or whatever you want to call him) behavior aside this time...I will not excuse it...because there are no excuses!!!

I'm still writing....I'm trying to set the crud aside for now, and it's hurt and...anger...all rolled into one!!!

Thanks for caring!!!

Have to continue...only have a hour and one half to finish and upload it to my teacher!!!

Click,

It is a shame that your Dad is being so hard to get along with. He must be very unhappy.

How does he treat the boys? Regardless, he isn't the best role model for them, especially with the language he uses.

I don't know how you will do it, but I have confidence that you will find a way.

Best wishes on your paper.

I thank you...Jean!!!

I think that I had mentioned before that my biological father was killed in a car accident when I was 2 and my mom was pregnant for my sister. This dad adopted us.
I never thought that there would be favortism played out amongst grandchildren, but there is. My brother, he and my mom had him together, has a daughter. She is the queen around here...even has her own pink room upstairs for the rare times that she spends the night here. Kind'of sad...considering the false pretences upon which we moved here on. To make a long story short...now you understand why this just is not going to work!!!
I managed to get my paper done...by the skin of my teeth!!! Luckily, it didn't have to be my best for me to maintain my "A" for the class...I think that I could get 120/200. So....I THINK that I will be safe.

Thanks Again!!!

Good morning to everyone!

Today we are doing a little shopping and picking up DD#2. She'll be home for two weeks. I really hope she didnt cut her hair again.

DD#1 was out late again last night but things are going smoother with her using her door now to come and go. The pups dont wake us up when she comes in. She's calling now to tell us if she'll be home after 10pm. I'm glad that issue is resolved.

I likely wont be around much during the holiday break.

I do have an announcement...

I cant find my kankles, they have been replaced with real ankles!

*woohoo*

HUGZ to all!

That thread Has had one of the biggest influences on getting people out of Kimkins and working on getting Kimmer shut down for good. But it's not for the Faint of Heart. It gets rough in there (and for good reason). You have to be able to stay and work things out in that thread. And it usually does work out. Why? Emotions run high in there.

Actually, it looks like what happened with Winslow had nothing to actually DO with Kimmer herself.

It looks like She stated something about someone else in a "Funny", snarky way, someone misunderstood it, briefly said something about it... and instead of working it out with the other person, Winslow felt hurt, gave them a PM and then shut off her PM's. She then decided to no longer be a member. At least that's my "Take" on it.

What am I saying? There is actually no one to be Mad at. This was Winslow's "Choice".

I have posted in that thread from the very beginning, and have worked to help shut Kimkins down. I think it's a very important thread, for venting, sharing info...etc. It's just not for the faint of heart. It's not like the other threads at this site and for good reason.

I hope that explains things for you.
Tooter, I just want to reinterate what you said here. The Fascination Thread is so important on so many levels. And you are so right ... not for the faint of heart. Though, like I said, mild in comparision to what one would find on the internet before there was a World Wide Web ...

Hippygirl, Anorexia and Overeating are just 2 sides of the same coin to me.

Both can't see themselves in the mirror.

Both obscess over food.

Both play mind games with themselves... low self-esteem, etc...

That's why I got so angry. It's Dangerous!! Not only dangerous, but people shouldn't go hungry to lose weight.

In the beginning of the threads, people mocked me for saying such things. How could an overweight person be Anorexic? Well, HELLO, The anorexics people are used to seeing didn't start off SKinny! It always started with a diet that was taken too far, Red Flags ignored etc.

To me, Kimkins was worse then anorexia. With Anorexia I was "alone" with my dirty little secret with only Myself to egg me on. At Kimmins, you had everyone encouraging you (because of ignorance) and cheering you on.

Thus, came in the Cult mentality. When Someone actually spoke up about the facts and reality of it...We were called Jeaslous and Haters. Everyone wanted to see those scales moving and moving fast and agreed, justified it.

I'll tell you what, I am just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo Thankful that you girls are out and/or never got involved.

I don't have all the answers and I'm not all wise. I'm on a Journey to good health like the rest of you. Just because I'm at goal, doesn't mean it's over yet. I'm just beginning to learn.

That's what this thread is about. For us to Learn, Share, Grow, Laugh and encouarge each other. To keep each other healthy. And "Click" to keep us laughing! LOL

You know, it wasn't until getting all caught up in keeping up with this drama that I finally started considering that I may well have an eating disorder (I try to type ED, but can only think erectile dysfunction when I see that, and THAT sure doesn't apply!). Is it possible to be bulimic without purging? I do know that I'm a stress eater and the more stressed I am, the more I eat. And eat. And eat. I'll eat myself sick, but not throwing up sick.

I've also figured out that I often turn to food when I'm distressed, which really bothers me - I should turn to GOD when I'm distressed!

Oh, and btw, it is snowing like crazy here. Anyone east of me - get ready!

Congratulations on seeing your ankles, you go girl!

I think most of the posts will dwindle down with the holidays and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and the best New Year.

MomToEli,

It was a pleasant surprise to see your posts today. I know you must be extremely busy.

To be honest, I think most overeaters are stress eaters. I know I was, for sure. If it was average stress, I would eat, if it was extreme stress I wouldn't eat.

Since I have been free of carb addiction I haven't noticed this cycle at all. Perhaps 11 wks. isn't enough to judge by but Christmas can be stressful and I have done great. Thank God!

I really got a chuckle out of your ED comment...

I don't have to cook for others that aren't following my WOE and I know that is a blessing. It is much easier for me to follow 100%.

We will be starting a new year soon and, hopefully, things will slow down enough to get back on track.

I wish you and yours the best of holidays.

I'm glad that you choose this post...after being gone so long... to comment on. Maybe your start date is a restart date? Or you have been doing alot of reseach.
I went to the computer the day after Thanksgiving...after seeing some people on the news who were complaining about the Kimkins diet...and I thought...what are they complaining about...look how skinny they are!!!!

Thankfully, I stummbled upon Tooter!!! This is where I am, and this is where I'll stay!!! Hopefully, you read the posts prior to the one that you commented on to realize the importance of Tooter's mission...especially to those of us who do not know much about the Kimkin's saga!!!!

Thanks for the welcome back, Jean. I haven't been gone, really - been reading, just not had anything to say. Hard to believe, I know

Luckily those I do have to cook for (my ds and my dh) are very willing to eat things my way. I have extra carbs for my ds in particular, since he is only 8 (9 in just 4 more days! Wow! Where does the time go?) I just seem to be having a really hard time right now realizing that the fight is worth it. I know in the front of my thinking that it is ... it's that sneak up on you and catch you off guard little nasty voice that keeps whispering that I'm fighting a lost cause. We've had a setback that involves LP our heating gas) that really pulled the rug out from under us right before Christmas. We've recovered as well as we are going to, and are certainly making the most of it, but I have allowed the situation to keep me awake at night. Tired and high carb treats don't make a good combo for me ... At least dh and I have dealt with this by being on the same side ... that is really a giant thing for us. So, God is good and is always there in the details ...

I was actually on the Fascination thread long before this one. Very much aware of the horror of Kimmer. While I wasn't here starting with Thread #1, I've been around long enough to have a pretty good handle on who is doing what and why. Thankfully I was never a part of Kimkins, and wasn't one of those who was physically hurt by it. I was on LCF way back yonder, but never gave Kimmer a second glance. Thank God for small favors ...

Ah, Southern California. My true home. I can pretty much promise you that at least THIS snow storm will stay east of you. Never know what might be in store a bit later on. One of the things I loved about living out there ... we were about an hour from any type of climate you'd like ... desert, mountains, beach. You could go swimming and have a snowball fight on the same day if you did it right ...

It is coming down hard and heavy now. Supposed to crank up the winds and have blizzard conditions later on. May actually be there now. I can see our flag pole about 100 yards away, but nothing beyond that.

MomToEli,

I live near Camp Pendleton and we can see the ocean from my front yard and snow on the mountains behind us.

I hope the weather doesn't cause problems for those traveling in your area for Christmas. Hopefully you can stay snug and cozy inside and don't have to travel.

Jean
