I am so glad you are feeling better. Keep doing what you are doing. You know, in the Swartzbein books she talks about that it does take "Time" for our Metabs to heal. I have found this to be true. Hopefully, you are on a "Roll". Let the healing begin, eh? (From my fingertips to God's Ears).

Hi there, Tooter!!!

Dinner tonight sounds great!!!!

How'd the painting and re-decorating go today?

I'm, at this point, too cheap to purchase water. Guess that I will just have to continue doing what I did today...Hold my breath and chug!!!

Thanks for all of your suggestions!!!

Hi, there!!!

Do you put the hamburger sauce on your spaghetti squash? I've never had spaghetti squash!!! Does it let your mind think that you are enjoying spaghetti noodles?

Lost and Found, What did you eat today? If you are hungry, Eat. protein and Fat helps keep you full. Your Salad was lowcarb (that you posted this morning) but don't forget that Fat And protein make you feel full.

How many days have you been doing this? The first few days are the hardest. Hang in there!!!!

You did Good!!! I promise when I get a little more time I will post some more food ideas for you. Still painting here. It's going slow. I like it better when Hubby and the boys are home, then we can do it like "Trading Spaces". With just me... It's slow and boring.

Thanks!!!!

You are always so helpful!!!!

I am just the opposite of you...with getting things done around the house!!!! I hate it when other people are around!!!! Of course, they aren't much help...they just always NEED something...whether it's time or a thing...it's always something!!!

Oh well!! Life would be pretty boring without my boys...but a lot easier to diet!!!!!

Here it is.

-----------------------------------------------------

Where's The Tampax?

Ok, I'm the only female in a house full of guys: 4 sons and a hubby. Toilet seat never down, etc.-you get the picture. Therefore, I'm the only one who would be using Female products, correct?

A strange thing was happening at my house: tampons were disappearing.
*insert Twilight Zone theme*

It started a few months ago, when I went to my cupboard to get out a tampon and there was only one left. I could have sworn I had just bought a box the month before. So, I go back to the store, buy a new box and forget about it.

The next month (that time of month), I go back to the cupboard and viola! there is only one tampon left, again! What is going on here? Gremlins? Total memory failure?

I go to the store, buy another box and try to chalk it up to forgetfulness, but am really wondering, now.

Later in the month, I decide to clean out my two youngest sons' closet and, Low and Behold! at the bottom of their closet are the wrappers, applicators, and the tampon themselves!

Now I am starting to freak... Dear God, what are they doing with them?!!
I get hold of myself, tell myself that "I am an Adult" and can handle this-despite the bizarre thoughts running through my mind. Wondering, "Do I have enough money saved up in the bank for MAJOR THERAPY?"

I go to the stairs and yell to my two youngest sons to "Come Here, RIGHT NOW!!!"

With their usual lack of speed, they finally appear in their room to find me staring into the bottom of their closet.

I firmly, but with control, ask, "What are you doing with THOSE? Those are MINE!"

My 12 year old looks like a deer caught in the headlights and is silent.

My 10 year old looks at me, all innocent, and says, "Well, Mom, we were playing with our G.I. Joes and THOSE make really good SCUD missiles. What do YOU use them for?"

"NEVER MIND...GO PLAY!"

----------------------------------------

So, that's the inside Joke on Scud Missiles. lol Kids!! Never a dull moment, I tell ya.
I LOVE those boys!!!! Their mom is HOT!

Well, Well, WELL!!! It would seem that Hubby and the 2 youngest boys want back on low carb. Ah huh. My Tongue is bloody from stopping myself from saying "I TOLD YOU SO".

The all 4 did lowcarb with me over a year ago. They looked and felt fantastic. Lost weight, had energy etc...

Then hubby and one of the sons didn't want to do it. It was just the youngest and I (He did fantastic and kept his weight at 150 lbs). Then We had house guests that stayed for a long time (and of coarse I cooked higher carb foods for them) and Then the holidays. I wasn't going to be the food Police. I stayed on plan even with the High carb cooking. Youngest son Gained 15 lbs and once again has those freaking mood swings.

Well, they all want back on lowcarb. So, for the last few days They have been eating on plan.

Now, I have to stock up on some lowcarb stuff that I normally didn't have in the house, because I don't eat it. I try and eat a more "Natural" low carb. I need low carb pita bread, lavash bread and I'm out of whey protein powder. I don't use that stuff so I didn't have it.

Men. I wish they would make up their freaking minds. Now I have to purge the house of the higher carb foods that had me buy (when they didn't want to follow the plan). At least I am thrilled they want to go back to low carb. I guess watching me live it has made them change their minds.

IT's ABOUT FREAKING TIME!!!

Anyways, I went to "Ollies" Outlet store. I picked up Dana Carpender's Low carb Barbecue book (I have all her others) for $4.99 and I also picked up Ursula Solom's "The Low-carb Baking and Dessert Cookbook". It was only $3.99!

I don't eat that kind of stuff, but they do and if it keeps them on lowcarb to have it once in awhile...So be it.

Hi there!!!! I just got home and came here before I did a darn thing. You are sooooooooo right! I was sooooooo bad today! I was soooooo busy, though. I know, that's NO excuse. I'm eating seafood casserole now. (sans the bread crumbs) My daughter-in-law made it for my husband, and he saved me some. YUM!
My class? It's a class called "Promoting Excellence in End-of-life Care". It's a course that I offer to 1st and 2nd year medical students. It's a powerful course. They learn how to heal in their clinical blocks, this course introduces them to: Giving Bad News, Hospice and Palliative Care, The Dying Process, Advance Directives, The mechanics of filling out the death certificate, Organ Donation, Pediatric death, Spirituality, & Bereavement. Each session has a large group presentation. At that presentation I have a physician and either their dying patients and/or their family. For example at the Giving Bad News session. I have an er doc and an oncologist present cases. The er doc has the family there that he had to give bad news to. The doc tells the students how he felt when he had to give the news and the family tells them how the news could have been delivered to make it easier for them. The oncologist brings her patient and the patient's family. The doc presents the case and how the news was given, the patient and family gives their point of view.
The second part of the night are small groups. There is a small group of students < 8 and 2 facilitators. 1 facilitator is a physician, the other is a non-physician in the healthcare field. (social worker, chaplain, patient rep, nurses, hospice workers....) The students use these small groups to discuss hat was discussed and the patients that they have been assigned. yes, I pair each student with a dying patient in the community. The patients have volunteered. These patients invite the students into their homes, introduce them to their families, take them to doctor visits, and often the patient dies before the course if over. The small group helps them get through the difficult things they are feeling. I believe we turn out more compassionate docs.
Are you sorry you asked? LOL Sorry so long winded. I am very passionate about this course.

I did! My new DIL is a fantastic cook! I just had seafood casserole. She makes it with the bread crumb stuffing on the side. Hubby ate the stuffing, and I had a way too big portion of sole, scallops, crab.
