Here's one for Bread:

Three min microwave bread

INGREDIENTS:
2 tablespoons of almond flour (almond meal/ground almonds)
2 tablespoons of flaxseed meal (flax meal)
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
a "pinch" of bulk splenda
1 Tablespoon butter, melted
1 egg

I make this in a 2 cup plastic measuring cup or different size and shape small tupperware dishes.

METHOD:
Melt butter in cup. Beat in egg. add dry ingredients. Mix throughly with a fork (make sure the egg is mixed really well). Cover cup with glad wrap, cut a small slit in wrap. Microwave on high for about 1 minute 30 secs. Microwaves may vary. Check on it. Do not over cook. It will come out a little "moist" and wet looking, never fear, it will dry up a little after it is out of the container.

I have used this for toast (sliced it and toasted it) butter it and dipped it in eggs. I have made sandwiches with it. I have cut it in cubes and eaten it like a "Corn Bread" with soups. Make it in a round container and it's a bun for a hamburger.

Anyways, there are lots of ways to use Ground Flaxseed.
Thanks Tooter!!!

You always have so many good ideas. I wish that we were neighbors!!!

Well...it's been a long psychologically draining day...and I should get some sleep...but...I love it when everyone else is sleeping...even more so here!!! It's like...MY TIME!!!!

Guess what I just learned!!! My Dad is done with work...until after the first!!! There goes my peaceful time!!! I guess that all that I can do is hope for snow...or even ice!!!! My Mom's Mustang won't make it up the driveway in that kind of crap. So, my Dad takes her to work...and picks her up!!!!

I have some left over roast beef and broth, I think I'm going to add some cabbage, tomatoes and low carb veggies and make a soup up. A cold day like today is perfect for soup.

I would much rather have snow then freezing rain. You never know what those Mountains will do with this kind of weather.

I'll be happy when hubby is home safe tonight.
Howdy! I'm checking in for the evening. Well, my eating day was so NOT on plan. I'm paying a price for it now, too. Tomorrow is a new day though. I've printed off the 3 min micro bread recipe and will whip some of that up maybe tomorrow to have some with breakfast. I honestly understand the allure of things like KK - just the desire to drop at least SOME of this weight really fast. But, just like coming into money easy, if it was that easy it would likely be taken for granted and my new body wouldn't be cared for or appreciated the way it deserves to be.

Like the houses, girls! Here's mine, lest anyone think I live in my car ... This is the front. The back of the house is all windows on the main floor (it has a walkout basement, too), and it over looks 500 acres of wetlands and a small river valley - so we are on the top of a hill. It is very hilly here. Our mowed yard is about 2 acres and we have a great sledding hill in the back.

We have lots of ice still on all of the trees (and everything else) still, though we did have some thawing today. That will be it, though - temps way down tonight, and more snow on the way. They are already starting to talk about another big storm possibly for the weekend before Christmas. Lots of years we wonder if we will have a white one - this year there is no mystery

Well, all, hope your night is peaceful and restful. Read you all tomorrow!

I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Totally agree with this!!! Some people go crazy with exercise thinking that More is better. Not true. I have found the key for me (for staying in shape and being healthy) is moderate exercise. Like Crunches (for the stomach) I don't do them EVERY Day. Maybe a couple of times a week (If I'm lucky) I have had great results. I don't obsess about exercise, but I try to make sure I get some. Our muscles need to also "rest" properly and I believe that too much exercise does damage to us and we don't get the Physical results that we wanted in the first place.

There are benefits from Exercise, but I agree with Gary Taubes and don't agree with the "Burn Calories" Thing concerning exercise and losing weight.

Just wanted to comment on that.
I did very little exercise while I was losing weight. And I don't notice any difference in weight control whether I exercise or not - definitely in line with what Taubes says. The benefits for me are being stronger, which helps with my back problems, and having a bit more energy. If I overdo it, though, especially at times when I've had particularly low energy, it can make things even worse. In the longer term, I look at older people who struggle to get out of chairs, or pick things up off the floor, and I want to stay mobile as long as I can. I like to be flexible, too. Mostly I do more resistance-style exercise. I don't do much cardio.

Good morning Ailuros!!!!

Is it night time where you are? It's about 5:15am where I am.

I'm glad to have my suspicions backed up by you and Tooter. I could never figure out how I could stick to low fat/low cal and exercise??? (I was ALWAYS too hungry!!!) I've also heard that weight training is better for us than a bunch of cardio. Another thing that I've heard is that we should follow our "ancestors" behaviors.....like be walking along, and suddenly burst into a sprint. Cave men didn't go on jogs....but they ran from things, and they ran towards things. Have you heard any of this?

Good morning All!!!

Today is weigh-in day!!!! It's only 5:25 am....so, have to wait a bit (my scale is packed....so, have to use mom's...and it is in her bathroom!!!!) I'm kinda nervous about seeing the numbers!!!! After such good numbers last week....I've tried not to get overly excited!!! Wouldn't want to be let down!!!! I know that I have stuck to the plan. (If anything...I haven't ate enough....but, that is out of my control some of the time--you know when you have to feel as though you are sneeking food from the fridge?) I know that I "feel" smaller. I just do not know what the scale is going to say.

Today...much later than now...I have to run out to Purdue with my son. Need to clear up some financial aid issues!!!

Today, I, also, have an on-line final in one of my classes!!! One more assignment, and one more final essay...then, I'm done for the semester!!!

MomToEli....nice house with a very pretty yard....HHhhuummmm....nature....I miss it!!!

Hello, L&F. I'm ahead of you in time - I'm five hours ahead of East Coast, eight hours ahead of West Coast. I'm not sure which zone you're in. Anyway, it's late morning here. I'm just starting to think about lunch.

On the exercise question, the Drs Eades, who wrote the Protein Power books described some exercises in very similar terms to your descriptions in one of their books. Later on they paired up with a trainer, Frederick Hahn, and wrote a book called Slow Burn in which they basically recommend working with weights and using very good form, lifting as much as you can, very slowly and working "to failure" or until you can't do any more while still keeping good form and control. They say to do it for about half an hour every five days or so, and that's all - for helping with hormonal control, strength, bone density, lean body mass. If you want to train for a specific sport, or if you enjoy other kinds of exercise, that's fine, but they don't think you need to be spending hours and hours at it unless that's what you want to do.

I don't actually use their exercise plan, but it's useful at times when I'm very busy to know that I can come back to a half hour session once or twice a week if necessary.

Art De Vany is another person who thinks in terms of what a caveman might have done in relation to food and diet. Evolutionary Fitness is the name he gives his system, and he has a blog that you'll find if you google him. I find it interesting to read every so often, but he tends to go on about how wonderful he is a bit too much for me to read his stuff in more than small doses .

I'm on central standard time.

SOoooo, whatcha having for lunch? Anything good? I am hungry. I woke up hungry this morning, but am not eating breakfast....until after I weigh-in!!! Silly...I know!!!!

Thanks for all of your information...once again!!! I do not think that I could read much on Art De Vany....sounds like another idiot guy. Why do so many of them think that they are the "gift" of the day to everyone?

Hey....Tooter!!!!

Just to clear something up.....I know that 4Tblsp. of coconut oil = 1/4 c. Which is = to one batch of bark. How much do you eat in one day? I know that some days you do not have any....but you do not have more than one batch per day...do you? (I was thinking of Jean...maybe, she was ingesting too much?)

Also, do you just rub it on your skin? Doesn't it get all runny? Not that you probably even have any....but does it help minimize the appearance of wrinkles?

Good Morning, Everyone!

MomToEli, beautiful house. Again, look at those trees!!! We must be a bunch of "Nature" Girls. I know that winter isn't even offically here yet, but looking at these pics of homes in the Summer Time has me wishing for Spring already. I love the Sunshine. I HATE the gray days of winter.

Ailuros, I agree again, with the exercise. If I had to put it into a phrase, it would be, "Use it or lose it, but never abuse it". *giggle*

I also don't do the "Water Pushing". Don't get me wrong, I drink water and think it's important. I just don't "Push it". I did that years ago and really didn't find any benefit from it except having to pee alot and my tummy making swashing sounds when I walked. lol I also wondered, just what else are we Pushing out of our bodies? You know? How many important vitamins and minerals are also getting washed out? Thus, the reason I drink water, but I don't "Push it". Oh, I can see if something you ate caused you to be dehydrated to make sure you then drank More water to help with that, but I don't think it's something that should be done all the time. Just my opinion and it's ok if someone doesn't agree with me. It's just what I have found to work for me, so far, in My own Journey.

Lost and Found, I have my fingers crossed for ya today with the scales. You have done so Awesome!!! No matter what the scale says today, you already said that you Feel Smaller. That also is an important "Tool". If it doesn't show up on the scales yet, it will in a few days.

Gosh, I might go a couple of days of eating it and then I don't eat it for awhile.
Right now I am kinda sick of the bark, so I will have tea this afternoon with coconut oil and sweetner in it. It sounds like Jean had a little too much for her own body. I think she realizes this and is cutting back on it. It's all about us finding our own balance. Also, our bodies are healing up from years of abuse with the way we used to eat. That takes time. I'm just glad that she figured it out and doesn't have that acid build up.

Yes, I rub it on my skin. As soon as it gets in your hands, it starts to melt. You just rub it in well, and spread it around. Your skin will soak it up. Also, it's not like Baby oil. It won't stain your clothes with an oil stain and washes right out. Oh, yes I have wrinkles!! LOL I like to call them "Smile" and "Laugh" lines. It doesn't take them away, but does make them softer. It is supposed to help prevent more wrinkles. I don't know about that yet, talk to me when I am 60!! LOL

Excuse me? 3 pounds is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! *smacking Lost and found in the head* What's the matter with you? hehehehehehehe

Do you realize that just one pound a week, would be 52 pounds in one year?

2 pounds a week, would be 104 pounds in one year?

3 pounds a week....Well...You wouldn't be here in 6 months!!

3 pounds is Awesome!!

BTW, Lost and found (just to keep things in perspective) Do you know what a Stall is?

A "Stall" is going over a month without any weight loss and no inches lost. It's still not a "stall" if you haven't lost weight but have lost inches.

You have lost 3 pounds in one week. Not only that, but you said you feel so much thinner. I bet if you were measuring, you have also lost alot of inches.

3 pounds in one week is totally AWESOME!! There are people on this website that would give their right arm to do that.

I know we want everything "now", but honey...You truly are doing awesome! Ahead of the game.

What she said! L&F, just in case you doubted it Tooter is right. You can see a big number drop the first week when you have lots of water to lose, but after that, once you get into fat burning territory, three pounds in a week is fast! In fact, I think we should hold a party to celebrate your successful week .
