Tooter, made my first batch of bark. Used Kaluha flavored DaVinci's for the sweetener. Put 1 tbls per mini paper muffin cups so I'll know how much I'm using. DH has a wicked sweet tooth and took one already!! Sheesh, I can't have anything to myself in this house. We'll see if this jump starts the weight loss.

Also, dh isn't able to make it home tonight. That major ice storm that's gone through OK, KS and now Missouri is headed our way during the night and day tomorrow and dh MUST be at these meetings tomorrow. He would normally come home at night, but we are afraid it will be too icy for him to get back, so, since his room is comped anyway, he's staying. Plus, I was supposed to join him tomorrow night - our annual night at the hotel - and that looks out, too, because of the weather.

Ah, well. I've made a pot of coffee to put in the thermos in case we lose power tonight. I can handle losing power for awhile, even if it is 20 degrees out, but don't be deprivin' me of my coffee, now! So, if I'm AWOL tomorrow, just assume I have no power. My laptop battery is pretty much shot - don't know if I'll have any juice there or not. We have cellular internet and I'll have that unless the cell towers go down. Same with phones. I just love living in the Midwest
MomToEli - Cheeze-it's...you did good!!! Love them so much they are not allowed in the house cuz I WILL eat them, the whole entire box and I won't care while I'm doin it either. I do the same with the coffee. Gotta have it no matter what. Hope you made it through the storms OK.

Hey...gals!!! Guess what I got today!!!! I got some biotin!!! On the label it says: "Biotin is an essential B vitamin that is involved in the intermediate metabolism of carbohydrates. Biotin also assists in protein and fat metabolism and supports healthy skin, hair and nails". So, I will start taking my 5000 mg of it a day. (THANKS TOOTER!!! ) I bought the 1000 mg tablets, and thought that I would take throughout the day...since it is the type of vitamin that the body secretes when it has enough!!! (Plus, I got a bottle of 150 tablets for $2.97 at Wal-mart, and their 5000 mg bottle--although would last longer--was $6.??, and I could justify $2.97 better than six something right now!!!)

Hey...Tooter!!!

After starting to take biotin, how long did it take to notice a difference in your nails, etc...?

Actually, since starting to eat coconut oil, less than a week ago, I've noticed that my skin likes it (It feels softer)!!! When applying it topically, do you just rub it in? If you even have any, has it helped minimize the appearance of wrinkles? Can't wait to get my multi-vitamin too...maybe, it will help increase my energy. Lately, I've felt tired...probably my sleep apnea...but, hey...one can hope that a vitamin might help!!! The one thing that I know will help is getting rid of all extra weight...my sleep apnea should all, if not most of the way, be gone then!!! I feel smaller, but can't wait to see a number on friday!!!

Hope that you got all of your laundry done...and your carpets scrubbed!!!

Today:
4 Tblsp. worth of bark (can't wait to get some coconut!!!)
4 pieces of bacon
3 eggs

1 can of albacore
with:celery, mayo, hard boiled eggs--all mixed together

Pork rinds
1/2 serving of sunflower seeds

Baked chicken
asparagus

Will the 3 grams of carbs from the sunflower seeds hurt anything?

Guys, I'm so sorry I wasn't on here today. Just after I started complaining (on here) about me doing Carpets and Laundry today...Well, hubby got a phone call and needed me at work and BAM, I was gone All day.

It was a long day, just got back a little while ago. *sigh* Didn't get to make the White Castle Casserole AGAIN!!! In fact, I was so busy (and I didn't get to plan anything or prepare for it) that I didn't eat all day long until just a few minutes ago. That's not a good thing!!! I just made us all hamburgers wrapped in lettuce and a salad. I wished I would have had time to "prepare" a little bit (take food and have it ready). Sigh.

Anyways, Now I have a bunch of stuff to do tonight. I Should be here tomorrow and I'll catch up with all our posts.

Oh, I'm also going to email Winslow tomorrow and make sure she is Ok.

You all have a fantastic night and I'll see ya in the morning!

I sure hope this post made since...I am so dang tired. lol

Good evening everybody! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. You know how life can be...

L & F, same here about the bark. I found out last night that my coconut oil limit is 3 tblsp. No more! I upped it to around 4 or 5 yesterday and I had that nauseousfeeling all night and I had a really bad taste in my mouth. The only good thing about it is that I was not hungry one bit. I guess you wouldn't want to eat anything feeling like that anyway. Here's my menu for today...

B: scrambled eggs w/ extra butter & salsa, sausage
L: hamburger & cabbage
D: boneless pork chops w/ broccoli and cauliflower
S: 1 cup of chicken broth w/ cream (if needed)

I hate my scale! I have this really old scale. This scale is older than I am and I'm 35 years old! So you know the readings aren't too accurate. I have unrealistic expectations of seeing weightloss every time I step on the cursed thing. So I made up my mind that I will only weigh myself once a month. Gonna talk to hubby about getting me a Tanita.

Hope everyone here has a nice evening. Take care!

Hi Erika, glad to see you back. I have one of those Tanitas also. Love it.

I can only have a bite of coconut bark before the coconut taste gets to me, I cant seem to find anything to cover it up. Last time I made it with banana extract. I can chug it down in tea though, so maybe thats how it will have to be.

Tooter, sorry you had a rough day. Hopefully you can stay home tomorrow. I am always really tired when I get home from work too. Pretty much eat dinner and crawl into bed (with my laptop). I'm still hoping I wil get some more energy soon.

Hoping Winslow is ok. I've been missing her lately.

B: coffee & creamer, atkins bar
S: Fiber, swiss cheese
L: smoked salmon, atkins bar
S: smoked gouda & sausage
D: Baked salmon

I think the Atkins bars are disagreeing with me, they have been giving me alot of gas. They just taste so darn good.

Hi, Erika!!!

Glad to see that you are still with us!!!

Yeah....Tooter said that we need to ease our way into the coconut oil. 4Tblsp. is a full batch....and, I am up to that!!! I do not plan on taking in anymore than 1 batch anyways!!! Sorry for you...but, I am glad to hear that I am not the only one that needed to ease my way into the stuff!!!

Also, I'm glad that you became less of a scale-a-holic!!! For me, the scale can be my worst enemy!!! If I've been trying...and the scale is not moving....I could just use that as an excuse to go back to my carb-a-holic ways!!!! you know the saying..."Welp...this isn't working anyways....so, I may as well...etc...!!". Atleast, I know this about myself...and I've cut my weighing back to once a week...I don't know if I could wait a whole month though...without peeking!!!

So....you have barking spiders around?

As Tooter would say...."I hear that your voice has changed, but your breath hasn't!!!"

Whatever you do...don't hold it in....it's not good for you (I'm being serious here!!!). Let the air flow feely!!! H-H-e-e-y-y-y-y-y!!!! Maybe that's why you've felt bloated!!! Cut out the Adtkin bars, and see what happens!!! Maybe, just maybe...they are the culprit!!! Didn't you just buy them this last weekend? Your weight thing, and bloated feeling didn't start until this week!!!!

Sorry that was unclear, L&F. I meant the high five for the "eat fat" woe you have listed. The spelling lesson was supposed to be a less important part of the message. Apparently I'm a frustrated English teacher!

Anyway, I laughed out loud when I read your woe in your stats!

Sorry for the misunderstanding!

You're an English teacher!!?!!! I love English!!! Do you teach in high school? I got "A"s in both College English 101 and 102. I really feel that I have accomplished something good when I can write about something, be graded on it...and there's nothing wrong!!!!

Don't mean to be nosey...but, I know some people that are teachers, and can not find work!!!! That, to me, would be enough to make me spell a few words correctly!!! Really though...that's terrible!!!
