Hooray for the weightloss for all who have lost and know it !!

Sunday's can be kinds busy. My dh served me breakfast in bed this morning (what a guy!): two fried eggs and 3 pieces of link sausage with my coffee. For lunch I had tuna with mayo, dill pickle, mustard, onion, garlic, pepper and one Wasa cracker, plus CO Bark. Today I made it with no nuts or coconut, but used peppermint extract, vanilla extract, vanilla whey protein powder and cocoa. Oh, and Splenda. Tastes like a peppermint patty

I've figured out that in order to be eating 2-3 tablespoons of the CO, I need to make this twice a day or double it. Oh, and a single recipe fits perfectly into my mini muffin pans that have 6 cups. I'll likely be using that pan from here on out. They pop right out of the non-stick pan so I won't have to mess with waxed paper anymore.

I don't know if I'm losing weight, but my fat is changing shape, if that makes any sense. It almost looks like it's melting. Not real sure where it's going, or if maybe it's just my imagination ... once again ... ran away with me ...

The biotin is great for the hair.

Here is a thread about it.

http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/ma...ed-biotin.html

It also is supposed to help with how your metab process' carbs.

All I know is that since I have been taking it, I don't lose hair (and I did for years...way before low carb) The shedding has greatly slowed down and is normal now. my nails are growing fast and stronger and I do think it helps with your metab.

My hair never seemed to "recover" after having my kids. Wish I knew about biotin back then. Ah...Live and learn.

You all have a FANTASTIC day!
Hi!!! Toots!!!!

I just read the thread on the biotin. I have hair like Cheri's. The difference is that I hate my hair. It does come out a lot...even went to the doctor about it...never got an answer!!!

So my naturally curly hair will get even BIGGER? I do not know if I could stand that!!!

Hi!!!

Why would you need to double the batch to get your 2-3 Tblsp a day... if a single batch calls for 4 Tblsp of the CO? I knew that the muffin tins would work good!!!

I am trying to weigh myself only once a week now....but, I know what you mean!!! (The changing shape...and melting appearance!!!) By the way...you know how skin/fat itches when it's growing? Have you experienced the same effects as you are losing? My hips, butt, and boobs have been awfully itchy lately.

Pear, I was thinking of you this weekend - one of the people I was with is Dutch, and she'd brought some little hard spicy biscuits over from the St Nicolas celebrations (don't know the Dutch spelling, I'm afraid). They were very good, and small enough to allow for portion control .

Has anyone else read that when you lose fat from your fat cells, water replaces it for a few days, then whoosh, all of a sudden you are down in weight as you body does it thing?

I think that may be why drinking the required amount of water flushes your system of the residue from losing weight.

This does make sense, doesn't it?

Jean

Ailorus, thats really cool. Did the cookies have an almond on top (amandelkoek)? Or ginger-spicy balls (pepernooten)?

Yes, I've read this too in various places. Isn't it interesting how a body works?

I use 1/4 cup CO - never thought about how many tbs that is , but, didn't Tooter say she takes 6 tbs a day?

The itching - yes, I've had some issues with that, though not as much since I've started eating more fat, thanks to the CO. I also take pretty hot baths and just blame it on that and the colder temps.

Ailuros,

I just ordered the book, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I read everything I can on healthy eating.

There wasn't an almond, and they were spicy, so probably the pepernooten - though there was cinnamon in there, and maybe others as well as ginger.

Running through (busy day)

I Just wanted to make a few quick comments before I can get back here.

There is no difference between "Extra" Virgin Coconut oil and Virgin Coconut oil.
It's the same thing. The only difference is the price. They will charge you more for the "Extra".

As to going "slow" with the Coconut oil, if you ate a bunch of the bark and didn't have any problems...Don't worry about it. Only some people have the side effects where they have to go "Slow". I gave the "Warning" in case you might be one of the people that this is "true" for.

As to eating alot of the bark. Well..."I" and some other people tend to lose eating the entire batch. If I eat a batch, I know I will be down at least a pound the next day. Of coarse, YMMV. Don't forget, this is about learning about "You" and "Your" body.

I hope you all have a fantastic day. I'll check in later (after I get a bunch of stuff done).

Welp....it's 8:30 am and I can already tell what kind of day it's going to be!!! I was outside...sprinkling salt on the driveway...only to have SOMEONE (Dad) close the garage door. So, I went in the front door...and went out through the garage again!!! (He always acts like an a*s...and tries to play dumb!!) Then, after I came in...I left my shoes on the throw rug...they have wood floors...can't get those wet...only to find them later thrown in the dining room!!! So, just to bring it up in front of my Mom...which usually puts an end to his behavior...I said, "Is there a problem with leaving wet shoes on the throw rug so as not to get the wood floors wet?". Then, he said that he set them in the dining room so that when some one comes in...through the garage...(which no one will be)...they can open the door easier!!!! He's so full of sh*t!!!

Then, I started to run the vacuum (spelling?), and was told that he was trying to watch the t.v.!!! I said...fine...then, no complaining later about the carpets!!!!

Morning gals:

Tooter, good to see you here.

I'm up another pound. I dont know whats going on with me. I hope that getting back into my normal (work) routine will help. I drink more water when I'm at work and I have less (low carb) snacks available to me. Not that I'm hungry. I just get into snacky moods at home.

B: coffee & fiber
S: cheese
L: eggs and tuna salad
D: soup (hot & sour style)

I wonder if the sodium in the soup is throwing me off. I noticed when I stepped on the scale that the fat percentage was down which for me means I'm retaining some water. As long as the fat is disappearing, I dont mind the water so much, right?

Another cold morning. My husband was the next one behind a six car pileup that closed the highway. He managed to stop on time, praise God! There were some serious injuries. Skeery. Today my daughter has the last two finals from the fall quarter, then she's off for a few weeks.

L & F, what state are you in?

For some reason I thought you said you were in Idaho, but your clock shows two hours ahead.

Hi, Pear!!!

I'm in Northern Indiana...by the Michigan state line...by the lake.

I wonder if your "slow" problem could be part of what is showing up on the scale.....water, water, water, and more water !!!!

Thanks for the info, Tooter. Do you eat the bark "instead of" other food (like, say, breakfast), or "with"?

Pear, I don't know ... it seems like you aren't getting all that many calories or nutrient rich foods. Not sure which WOE you are following, but this looks like NO carb, rather than low. That could be why you aren't losing weight.

Hi, everyone! Hope you are having a great day!

So far ...
B: CO Bark, coffee
L: 2 eggs made into egg salad with too much mayo, a splash of minced onion and pepper.

For dinner I'm making a pork roast and mashed cauliflower with gravy and salad.

Then we have Cub Scouts tonight, so I'll be kept busy! I'll try to get back here yet this afternoon, but it may well be late tonight before I do.

Oh, and Pear, thank God that your dh missed that accident!

Glad see L & F, MomToEli, Tooter and Pear today.

Pear I am also glad to hear that your husband's quick responses saved him from the accident and sorry for the others.

For the past week I have been suffering from acid in my chest, that deep burning sensation. Enough that I have had to get up two different nights to take something for it. I'm not sure what is going on. I haven't eaten any acid producing foods that I can think of. Does anyone else ever get this?
