Hello, everyone. I put off answering because I wanted to answer everyone, yesterday, and didn't end up posting so I will say, welcome to the newbies, hope all are safe and secure with the weather conditions and love the recipes.

I have a plate of the peanut butter fudge in the fridge and it is to die for. Linda Sue has also put it on her site.

The cabbage rolls make me drool, they look fantastic.

I may have mentioned that I made yogurt from Dana Carpender's 500 recipes and it is sinful. I also used heavy cream in it and I prefer it unsweetened. I upped my consumption to 1/2 C last evening and will watch to see if it alters my success.

I didn't feel like eggs this morning either and ate 3 TBS 100% peanut butter on celery. It is actually like a treat for me.

I do have a question. Does anyone make sure they eat 20 carbs of veggies after induction? Although I am a veggie lover I find it very difficult, but do make the effort.

Lost & Found, I am so glad that you are still with us, best wishes for success with your courses. Congratulations on getting in the water to flush out all of those toxins. Do you think it makes you feel better?

Although I haven't posted much, I am reading every post.

Jean

Jeanran, I told ya that peanut butter fudge is good!!!

Hmm...After induction do I try and make 20 carbs from veggies, was that your question?

Well, things changed alot for me after reading that Gary Taubes book (Good calories, bad Calories). I don't freak about veggies. Some days I get more then others and some days I might not have any. *gasp* Do I recommend this for the Newbies? No. But I realized that even doing low carb for as long as I have been....I worried about too much fat and not enough veggies.

I don't anymore. In fact I tend to "Push" the fat for myself. As for the Veggies, if I haven't eaten them and my body needs them, they have a way of letting it be known. I'll usually have a craving for them. So...I just don't "Sweat it" anymore. I also don't "Force it".

I find my main worry is to have the right balance of Protein and Fat. The other things tend to work themselves out.

I don't know if that helped or not.

Hi Jean!!!!
I do not know if I feel a little better due to that or actually seeing the scale move...after not giving in to pizza yesterday!!! I do know that I am not hungry today!!!! That makes me feel better. Especially after 11 days of feeling hungry, tired, and crabby!!! My body took longer than many other's to get to this state!!! Stubborn old thing!!! I guess that my mind is more stubborn than my body!!! Tee Hee Hee!!!

Tooter, can I stay on induction for a long period of time...like, until I'm closer to my goal weight...and then start working my way through the ladders? Of course, with higher carb meals for a treat now and then...like Christmas Day? Tee Hee!!! (That wouldn't be hard to do on the '72 version...I mean to have a higher carb meal...since on that plan, the goal is to have as close to "0" carbs a day as possible!!!)

Hi Everybody ...

Okay, I need help here.

Somehow I've gotten totally derailed. I feel like most days have turned into a foodfest of sorts. One thing is leading to another to another and the next thing I know I'm so far in that I throw up my hands and say maybe tomorrow is the day...

I can't figure out what is triggering me, either. I was doing great. Wasn't even tempted to eat carbs other than veggies. I don't know if I'm getting bored, too busy, or why I undermine myself. I just know that it is very depressing to look at myself and think I'm just too weak. And now I can't figure out how to have even ONE day where I don't inhale crap.

Sigh. I KNOW I'm not a weak person. I just don't know why I do this to myself ...

Sure hope this isn't a thread just for those who don't have issues ....

Tooter can probably answer you much better than I would. It sounds to me that some hidden ingredient probably threw you out of ketosis. My guess is that you should do a clean induction and try again. You shouldn't be hungry or have cravings if you're in ketosis.

Alot of people do stay at those levels for awhile. Let's not forget that climbing the carb levels helps you realize how many carbs and not only that but what kind of carbs you can eat, still lose weight and then maintain.

Also, some people lose a little better with more carbs. Some don't. It would help you learn that. But, yes (to answer your question) Alot of people stay at induction levels (at around 20 carbs) for awhile.

Ok, how are you on your fat intake? Have you tried to up that? I know that more fat is an important issue for me with cravings and also health.

Any foods that you think might trigger you? Are you going without eating and then lose control? Your Blood sugars could be off because of that and then you lose control eating.

Talk to us MomtoEli!

Yey!!! !!! Mom to Elli...I'm glad that you are still with us...even though going through a tough time, but you haven't totally given up...or you wouldn't be talking to us!!! Plus, going through a tough time is better with us!!!
By the way...this isn't a thread for people who do not have issues!!! Although I didn't sway from the plan...my body took 11 days to finally feel good----I guess that I had too much crap in my system...or maybe, my body is just stubborn...but I finally made it!!! I do not think that I would have fought it for 11 days without the support of everyone here!!! It's hard when you are loyal to a plan, and still see no change!!!

Hello Mom to Eli. I think if everybody with issues was excluded this could be a very quiet thread . Tooter's already asked the questions. Didn't Dr A also suggest L-glutamine to help with cravings? Have you tried that. They do eventually fade away, but it can be tough until you reach that point. Last year when we had to stay with my parents for a few weeks, my husband and I made a trip to the local supermarket and bought a whole trolley full of salad, spinach and cabbage, because, with plentiful supplies of bread and potatoes, what we were both craving was some green leaves . That took both of us by surprise! We never thought our bread cravings would be converted to cabbage cravings .

Whoosh, baby Whoosh!!! Whoosh, baby Whoosh!!!!

Just a quick drop-in on all of you!!!

I weighed this morning!!! Down to 214!!! That's 4 more pounds!!!!

I do not know why...I am finally...after longer than a week...startingto feel like I am in Ketosis!!!! I thought that it says about three days, but in my case it took longer than a week!!! I'm not even hungry!!!!

I will have to force something down for breakfast....but for now, I'm just happy to see that I've lost a total of 6 pounds in 11 days!!! I would so love to see onderland by Christmas!!!! By the way, I noticed that my seatbelt goes on much easier!!! As I mentioned in an earlier post, I seem to carry most of my weight in my gut. I KNOW that it has gone down!!! (probably water)

Congrats to all for feeling GOOD!!!! Keep it up!!!
L & F, I'm sorry, this was the first thing that I was going to address. Congratulations, now aren't you glad you found this group of supporters to share you win/win, the weight loss and appetite loss?

It really made my day when I read this because I am with you all the way, girlfriend. Also, so proud of the way you handled the pizza situation. We are gonna watch those pounds drop and look just like Tooter, (yeah, right!)

I don't doubt that by the end of January we will be singing the Onderland Theme Song, maybe before!

Keep up the good work and keep the faith in the Whoosh Fairy.

What about making some up yourself? Some Cumin and Chili powder? Mix in a little garlic salt or powder. I'm saying, invent your own taco seasoning. You can do it! You can still have your taco salad!

Yeppers, Tooter, that was my question and I am leaving right now to buy Gary Taubes book. That convinced me!

I have had the peanut butter fudge in the fridge for a couple of weeks and prolly should throw it out or freeze it. I just don't have much of a sweet tooth but it is there when I need it and that is comfort to me. It seems all of the natural foods that I am eating are keeping me totally satisfied.

I am also going to buy some freshly ground almonds at the store where I will buy the book. If you haven't tried it and can get it, it is outta this world. I tried making my own but the grinder just made it into paste. Maybe I did something wrong.

Thanks for responding.

Ok, kiddo...I can help you would the ground almonds. I make my own almond flour. I actually buy Bulk almonds at Sam's Club. 3# for $10 and some change.

I put the almonds in a small food processor until they are just ground. Then I put them in my Magic bullet (or a coffee grinder) Do a little at a time and then place the "flour" in a container and store it in the fridge.

It doesn't seem to work if you just use the food processor, it just turns into paste. That's why I stop it before it gets to that point and put it in the Coffee grinder/ or Magic bullet.

You can buy cheap Coffee grinders that will do it for you.

I had one and it lasted about a year (with alot of use from flaxseeds and almonds). It was a cheap one. One it died, I found the "Magic bullet" on sale at wal-mart and bought that instead of the coffee grinder.

Oh, and the 3 lbs of almonds? You get ALOT of almond flour out of that.

I cook by the seat of my pants (That's why it's hard for me to post recipes) lol

Just throw in what sounds good to you and taste it as you go. I have done it (but don't have measurements) with the chili powder, garlic salt, Cumin and a little Hot pepper. Now, go get creative and play with the spices in your cupboard!

Well...I haven't been hungry today. So, I've just had little bits here and there...

2 slices of bacon with some ham, wrapped in a lettuce leaf with mayo
pork rinds
hard boiled egg with mayo

That's it so far...it's about 4:10 p.m. here. So, supper will be good!! It's hard to grasp the feeling of not being hungry...and HAVING to eat!!!
