Things are going well in Dallas. I did enjoy a couple of adult beverages during the Cowboys game Monday night, but have been pretty strict otherwise.

Wow, Harley that's pretty rough. I can't imagine things ever getting that bad.

grp, my wife and I paid about $40/mo for a family membership at Ballys. After a couple of years, we quit and just started buying our own equipment. While having a treadmill in the house is convenient, I don't quite have the same motivation to get on it everyday like I did when i was paying monthly for a gym membership.

Doug, good luck with the surgery and a quick recovery.

Mack, I hear ya on the label reading. Way too many products have corn syrup in them somewhere, and they're not even supposed to have sweetness. Also, I have to watch myself on the legal high calorie stuff. Do I really need a quarter cup of cream in my morning coffees??

harley, it puts stuff in perspective. My life aint so bad after all.

Mack, its the little things that get us. the best one I found was when i ordered a grilled chicken salad at chick-fil-a. It comes with a packet of sunflower seed kernels. I dumped them on my salad and was happily chomping away when i was reading the ingredients on the seeds and it had sugar, corn syrup and honey! How is it possible to take a perfectly legal food and carb it up like that!

I have to agree with the gym membership vs. home gym. you have to force your schedule around the gym, when you're at home, its so easy to say to yourself that you'll get to it later, which never happens.

Morning everyone,

Harley thats definatly a messed up situation.

Doug good luck on the surgery and hope you have a speedy recovery. Be sure to do the PT to get that shoulder back to form. Been there and done it ain't no fun but mines almost as good as new.

Mack them labels are a pain in the rear but theres sugar everywhere. Wish my DW would read them once in a while. She just can't seem to get that through her head.

Grp no help on the gym membership. Got all the toys at home. Thats one of the problems when you live in the sticks.

Been eating on plan, exercising like a fool and just cruiseing along my plateau. I was reading on the main board that some have gone for quite a few months without a change. Hopefully I'll get to the edge soon and start climbing DOWN. Going campning again this weekend and the next. Both places we're going are local so it's more of getting out of the house than anything. have a great day Ed Out

Thursday

Weight is back down a little after rising for the past couple of days but still not at my vfz of 196.8. Took a day off from exercise yesterday and I am still sore from tuesdays workout. Playing walleyball tonight and might take a walk too.

Doug - good luck on your surgery. Heres to a fast recovery

Harley - sorry to hear about your coworker/friend. That is shocking. A guy around my hometown in NJ (I met him a couple of times but knew some of his family members better) came home one day and shot his two boys then himself. That left his wife and one daughter. Just makes you stop and think about what is really important in life - he was a regular working guy like you and me.

Ed - keep up the good work - even if you are not losing you are making your body stronger

Big D - Those boys almost let one get away - you probably needed those adult beverages. Thanks for the gym info BTW

Have a great day everyone

Hey Guys,
Off to see my Doc today for a physical. My weight is still bouncing along between 195 and 197. I don’t think I’m focused enough.

Harley – What a tragedy. Can anything in life ever be that bad? Very sad.

Ed – As we get closer to goal it gets harder to lose. The fact that you are staying on plan and exercising is the most important. It will eventually catch up.

Grp – Looks like you are back in the groove. VFZ tomorrow!

Ok Guys, lets win the day!

Hey Guys....Harley Checking in.

Thanks for the well wishes...the funeral is tomorrow, so hopefully will put some closure.

Eating still going well for me...excercising not as well. I have managed to get out and do a lot of work, but not jogging as much as I should be. It's getting dark pretty early, so it's tough to get out after coming home from work. I've got a tread mill in the basement, so I guess I don't have a good excuse not to do it.

Keep it up fellas!

Hey guys,

Harley, sorry to hear about work pal. Sad situation. KOKO

Alex, hope to hear good report from doc.

Cultured milk products done for a bit - gotta get downward scale going again.
Big D - yeah, I've been back to having 1/2&1/2 in coffee full time again.
Gonna really make a go at black or just a DROP of cream if too bitter.
Fat in there can surely add up.

Feel good - ready to attack again.

Let's work it on out...

later, gents

Evening Men,

Ken what the heck is peameal bacon? Is it like regular bacon

Going to start using fitday again. Well thats what I'm saying today. But it appears that I've been eating to much. So hopefully I'll be able to keep up with logging in all the crap I'm sticking in my pie hole. I was on there today and noticed a chart that will break down your weekly calorie intake to all the activities you've logged. Guess it could be used as a tool to figure out why I'm stalled.
Made ceasar salad for dinner tonight. Needed something quick and easy. I used Tyson mesquite flavor chicken breasts and threw in some fresh broccoli in their for some crunch. Topped with fresh grated parmesian and ceaser dressing. Gotta tell you I like them chicken breasts they were quite tasty. Kids loved them to.
Well of to work. Ed out

Hey Guys,

Quick check in to say hello. Things are going well here, but I've been crazy busy. My eating is floating somewhere between owl and induction. I've gotten so used to owl eating, its a more difficult adjustment than I had expected. But it better to be floating between induction and owl than between owl and off plan.

Harley - Thats rough man. I used to work at a home for kids with problems, and unfortunately, dealing with suicide attempts was part of the job. The one thing I can tell you is don't assume any responsibility for this. You may never know why this happened, but if he had wanted help, he would have let you know.

Friday

Morning all. Finally established a new VFZ today. Last time I established a new one was in August. Now maybe I can make a push down to the 180's.

Good exercise week so far. Played Walleyball for the first time last night. Crazy game but fun. What was really nice that was on a day that it poured rain all day and night I was still able to have some fun.

Walk does not look good today. Maybe I can get to the gym tonight if energy permits.

Ed, Shiner - In NY I think we call that Taylor Ham or pork roll. Not sure if its the same thing or not though

Have a good one

Morning Guys,

Back down to 195. yo-yo-yo-yo !!! My physical went well yesterday. I’ll get the blood work results next week, but BP was 110 over 68 and everything else was good. The Dr. was amazed by my weight loss and jokingly said he wanted to videotape me telling about how I did it so he could show it to other patients. The last thing he said was that I really made his day. Made me feel great.

The weekend is near so lets tighten things up and get through clean.

Great days everyone!

Hey guys, doing pretty well here.. Sticking to diet pretty nicely and school is going great. Rode my bike to
work and I'll find out next week about the position I interviewed for.

I have 2 separate dates this weekend.. one Saturday and one Sunday. Going out to eat both times so I might cheat a little this weekend. I haven't had a slice of Pizza for atleast 2 months. Not gonna eat a whole pizza or anything, probably just a few slices and eat a salad before hand. With the other girl I'm going to a traditional style place that I know I can get away with not cheating. Anyways, its gonna be a fun weekend lol.

Randy - must have been awesome to hear the doc say that, awesome work!

Hey Guys...Harley checking in.

Things are going pretty well on the food front. I have been eating too many pepperoni slices, but I guess they are "legal". I also had 2 glasses of wine last night. I didn't excercise yesterday, but intend to tonight and all weekend I will be working on my retaining wall, so excercise shouldn't be a problem. I am planning on making some seafood this weekend (Shrimp and Crab), so I will be eating completely on plan.

Keep up the good work and have a clean weekend.

Hi guys, I'm back...been in and out a couple of times this year....back to stay now! I've been back low carbing for 5 days, today is number 6. I cannot believe how much better I felt after 2 days back on. I've had lots of pain, no energy, and since back on LC the pain is gone and I've got tons of energy! So...regardless of weight loss, I know I need to stay on plan. At any rate, here's my numbers:

Alright, here we go.

All time high - 381
1/1/07 - ???
This Start: 10/8/07 – 362.8

It's good to be back. Kick my butt if I get off track!

welcome back Marvin, better to fall off and get back on then stay in the dirt.

Alex great news on the Dr. report. I go in a couple of weeks. with the move, i'll be with a new dr. so he won't have any clue how much i've lost. Won't get the same response, but at least i won't get the "headed for a heart attack" speech!

212 again today, lots of yardwork this weekend, and no temptations expected, might make some progress on the oughts!

hang tough.

Hey guys! Signing in for Visitor's Day! Now lemme look around ....

Mack, how you doin', buddy? Good thing to watch labels, see if that helps move the scales again. Also lowering the amt of kefir, slows me down at times, too much yogurt.
Grp, yep exercise and lowing the sodium will help. Slow and steady.
Curr, good luck with the new doc and wtg on the weight loss.
Marvin, welcome back home These boys'll kick your butt if you get off track.
Harley, LOL wine and pepperoni slices are two of my favorite things currently too! too much sodium in the pep but a tasty snack. Good luck.
Epix! You look amazing in the newest avatar! Good for you and hope the dates were fun.
Alex, congrats on the doctor visit/numbers! All that hard work paying off.
Warrior, sometimes it's good to be happy with maintaining when we're super busy.
Here's the scales moving to the rest of youse!

sunday check in

hey guys,

at work today, so far this week has been not so good for me foodwise, but i havent gained too much, im only up a couple , i think its due to all the work im doing at home, sweating it out i geuss, which is good, its allowing me to eat some things i may not normally eat,

just got to keep a lid on it and ive got it beat! portion control, my evil nemesis

anyhow, starting monday im going to try to go back to just above induction levels, get myself on track again, start eating more of the greens and such

it seems with me, its a slippery slope when things start going downhill, i just gotta catch myself early on and get a hold of it

enough of my problems,

have a good day

Good morning. Guys and..

Hey, 24Fan -
Yeah, cultured milk products going the way of hard and deli cheeses - very occasionally.
thanks for stopping over !

Marvin , I wasn't here last time you were so Hello and welcome (back).

Looking forward to some good ball today - Gonna take a good walk NOW.
Eagles at 1p.m. and 5-0 Dallas and Pats at 4:15.

Alex, those Rockies won like 19 of past 20. Amazing.
Schilling hooked fairly early and Boston dropped one.

I love this time of year. ha.
Even in the city - SOME one is burning wood somewhere and I miss camping.
Didn't get in any fishing this summer either.
Hope everyone enjoys their local weather - perfect for ball today.
See you tomorrow.

Morning all. Worked hard last week. Did a lot of exercise and ate well. Averaged about 2000 cals per day and about 30 carbs. Weightloss is not coming easy since crossing the 200 lb threshold. I am sitting at a new low this morning so maybe next week will be even better
