Afternoon Gents,
Nothing happening here yet. Had a couple eggs for breakfast off to rehab to get a light workout in. Meatloaf for dinner and I haven't figured out what I'll do for lunch yet. No lasik here, my vision just keeps getting worse every year. Gotta run Ed out.

The post below was attempted to be posted earlier - the upload arrows kept going in circles - glad I hurried and saved it to notepad - knew something was up - turns out my DSL was down for a while. I got frustrated after saving and rebooting - went for 2 hour walk.
Back on line and the Phils begin play in about 20-30 minutes. life is good.
Have a good one, men.

okay, here's my post from this morning :
g'morning, fellas
mack checking in

Welcome back to H2K.
Probably a months-old PM in your inbox, Harley.
Good to see ya.
I think we are all gonna get 'er done here this go-round.

Big D - KOKO.
Sounds like you got it going. Those treats... Kids are gonna have 'em around. Be strong.

Just found some Kefir. Good stuff. Served cold with flavorings - like a sweet n sour shake. Now I'll need portion control on this stuff but has not affected scale so far.
I think the meats need calorie control.
Cooked spinach makes oxylic acid crystals? Prevents good calcium absorption?
Spinach already got a scare with that e-coli.
I eat it a lot. Gonna check what 'moderation' means. 2 frozen boxes a week?

Gotta dig up and post my man boobs links. after all, Camp Charlie is dedicated to the elimnation of man-boobs along with other things.
Like Boomerang Pounds !!! Seems the Boomerang Fat Syndrome has infected Charlie. (and a lot of the U.S., actually) lol
(oh, if it were only the ONE pound for me, Doug, I'd be happy in a camper..er. a happy camper.)
30 lb. dumbells putting some shape around shoulders and neck but ain't lifting that boob fat too much. (KOKO, Mack, KOKO....)

GRP, post a couple Isaiah pics. Meanwhile I'll do a web search to see if we can pic you out of that crowd. since we don't know what you look like, you tell us privately if we guess correctly. lol J/K

Good news from Ed And Chris. koko.
lower back says bad posture at this desk - gonna scoot for now.

Let's go Fightin' Phillies !

Busy busy busy here... but doing great.

breakfast was a simple choc protein shake, lunch a protein bar. Dinner will be a LC tortilla pizza.

On another note I got a interview tomorrow! Applied a couple months back for a microbiologist position at place here in town (3rd largest pharmaceutical company in the world). They finally sent me a email yesterday and got a call today requesting me to come in tomorrow for a 3 hour interview! I'm pretty nervous right now.

I think my chances are good since the town is pretty darn small, and maybe like 20% of the population around here went to college. I'm still pretty surprised they want me to come in knowing that I won't graduate until April. Both my parents have worked for the company for 10+ years, so that might give me a little lead too. I do not know what to expect in a 3 hour long interview.. I really gotta catch up on some microbiology terms tonight, its been a year since I've taken any microbiology classes/labs.

Lets just hope my suit I bought back in April still fits me!

Hey guys,

Pete, great lookin' avi no wonder you got the lady's chasin you down on the weekends.

Ken I hope you went and got yourself a lottery ticket.

Mack what the hell is kefir?

Gave the rehabilatationist a lesson in how to use the stationary bike today. I wanted to try something new on the stationary bike so I asked if it had any programs that we could try. Seems this thing has all kinds if programs. I was basiclly just pedaling my ass off without any resistance. So she had to brakeout the manual for this thing. I start pushing buttons and set it to program 2 and low and behold I'm now working my ass off.
So I told her to make me a copy of the manual and I'd figure it out on my off day. Hell if I have to do this rehab I might as well get something out of it. Have a reat night Ed out

Pete,
good luck on your interview tomorrow. I'm heavily involved in campus recruiting (thus my trip to Syracuse last week!) and we typically hire seniors now for starts next summer. 3 hour interview is probably 3-1hour interviews or 4 30 minute interviews with breaks in between. We like to have multiple people interview so we can get a consensus feel about someone. At your age and minimal experience, its hard to differentiate students on anything other than GPA. When you get multiple people agreeing that they like someone, you usually end up with solid talent.

Interviews are generally go 2 ways, behavioral or case. behavior based questions will always start out with something like "give me an example of a time when..." followed by something like "you had to work in a team environment, and you didn't have agreement with all team members, how did you ultimately drive to resolution?" The behaviors you exhibit in a situation there are a good indicator of how you'll act when confronted with the same situation in the future. For case interviews, they'll ask you to solve a problem, not exactly sure what microbiologist type questions are, but given the scientific nature, they can ask questions around your problem solving capabilities: how you organize data, analyze it, find trends, develop a hypothesis, test it, prove it....

best interview answers follow the STAR pattern. Situation, Task, Action, Result. tell us the situation you were in (group project at school) the tasks at hand (had to tell the cause of death to a frog), action (performed autopsy, dissected organs, etc) result, (successfully determined that it was poisoned with arsenic). we disseced frogs in HS biology, thats all i know about that stuff!

good luck!

Thursday

Morning men.

Eating has been good and exercise has been bad this week. As of last night, I am having a neck problem - I get this occasionally. I generally treat with asperin. Hopefully it goes away by tomorrow. I really want to try out my new gym membership.

Warrior - keep plugging and that weight will come off

Pete - Good luck in the interview. Dont feel to bad if you dont know answers or bomb it. The interview itself will be valuable experience.

Ed - good job making some useful exercise out of therapy

Mack - what happned to those phils yesterday. What was myers doing out there in a 2 run game?

Thanks for the lasik info everyone. I just need to pick my date and shell out some dough

Have a great day

Hey Ed,
Here's a link talking about difference between yogurt and kefir.
There's a health food store up the street - they have cold cases and when I asked
about yogurt the lady mentioned kefir. My 'meat store' happened to get a stock of kefir - flavored (w/sugared juice) and plain. I am hooked on the plain stuff (which I flavor up s/f style) in only 3 days or so. My intestines must have needed something in there and is making my mind smile. lol
Yogurt Versus Kefiranalagoatcompany

GRP, Charlie Manual had us scratching heads all season but he did a good job with all the injuries he had to deal with. We need 3 out of next four. It'll be a tough job vs. the tough Rockies. Fun to be in post-season tho.

Pete, good luck with interview.
Become a micro-bio. and find a way we can eat donuts and Philly cheesesteaks and never get fat!
We're counting on you here at Charlie.
(well,... find a cure for cancer first and THEN develop the fat cell cure)
Thanks!

Have a good one, all

Randy, it is the STAR type of interview and behavioral based questions... I know most of the questions they are going to ask since I know people that work there I was able to obtain a copy of the HR Sheet they use lol.. I've been going over it since last night to prepare the most I can.

Interview is suppose to start at 9.. they haven't called me back like they were suppose to last night to tell me who to meet with, they open at 8:30, and I only live about 5 minutes away. So hopefully this gets sorted out before I come in.

Hey guys,

Still up to my neck in Auditors at work. Lots of fun. Still hiking at lunch and eating on plan. No scale movement yet. I’ll get there.

Looks like things are busy in Camp. Great to see.

Good morning, men!

Still going strong. This weekend might be a small challenge, as I am on full time daddy duty while the wife goes to NYC to meet our new nephew.

Alex, I had a slight astigmatism, but it didn't effect my ability to have LASIK. IIRC, a severe astigmatism will render LASIK pretty useless.

Pete, good luck on the interview! Just remember, if you get the job, avoid "celebrating" with an off plan meal, and likewise, if things go poorly, no drowning your sorrows in a pepperoni pizza! I'm an expert on using bad food as a "reward" or comfort.

Ken, I think your looking at it wrong. Maybe the poop was more good luck - if your gonna step in it, it might as well be colorful!

back from the interview.. skipped breakfast but had a protein bar for lunch.

Interview went really well and nearly every question they asked I was prepared for. Was told it would be 3 hours, ended up finishing everything in 2 hours including a tour of the microbiology lab. One person had a nice sense of humor so that made it much easier to talk.

Funny thing was the security guard who was nearly my age knew my mother (who works there..) and she kept flirting with me and as I was leaving she 'bye sweetie!' not something I would expect unless she was a 60 year old lady.

I'm feeling good wearing this outfit, just might wear it to my classes later tonight

great job Pete. hope you get the job!

Ken, karma catching up with you!

nothing happening on the scale today. After 9 months of being on Atkins, my wife prepared me my first atkins specific meal. Usually its just grilled meat and veggies, but she actually made me lasagna with spaghetti squash instead of noodles and homemade sugar free sauce. Don't know if she noticed i'd been struggling for awhile, and wanted to help me along, but it sure was a nice treat. had leftovers today for lunch.

Getting ready for a long weekend in Vermont. Friends of ours invited us up to do some ATVing. So I need to start to load the camper. Probably use it a couple more times this season before I winterize it.

Phillies up 3-2 - so I'll not jinx them by missing a couple innings,

Pete, glad things went well. Best of luck.

Ed, I still want to look up more about the 'left turning' yogurt and 'right-turning' kefir.
Trader Joe's has plain kefir qts for $2.69 - I'm going tomorrow for a gallon.
I really think this stuff has something in it I need - my mood has been good like the natural high of beginning ketosis.
Hey Chris, glad to hear the wife is getting behind your program.
That should help you.
Men, Let's give Mrs. Chris a big ol' Camp Charlie shout and salute!!

"Hoo-rah, Mrs. Chris !" ~ hand salute ! ~

okay, back to the game ...

Friday

Morning men. Was up a pound on the scale today but way too high in the calorie area yesterday..too much socializing. Went on a lunch outing, had an earlier dinner at home and then went out to get some drinks and wings with some friends. That put me around 3000 calories yesterday. I am trying to cut my diet soda intake in half and keep it to only 12 oz a day.

Neck is feeling much better today so I am hoping to get to the gym

Have a great day and a great weekend

Well, by the time I got back to the game, Rockies' Matsui hit a grand slam.
Big Trouble, right here in river city....
(what play/movie was that ?)
Trouble on the scale too.
I just don't understand that thang, sometimes.
The weird zone where clothes fitting better but the digital readout mocks the senses. lol
Kefir-adapting syndrome probably.
Nothing to do but Tweak and KOKO.
Feel good though. With all the exercise my body is like 'happy tired'.
Enjoy the weekend. Lotsa ball going on.

Hey guys,

Down a little this morning. For as fast as it comes on, it sure comes off slow!!!!!! We just got to hang in there. Remember, weight loss is just a side effect of eating healthy and exercising.

Mack - The Rockies are just on a major roll right now. Who would have thunk it?? That musical was "The Music Man."

Keep strong this weekend guys.

I took a couple days off and worked on my retaining wall at my home...sweat my a** off. I got on the scale this morning and I actully dropped 10 lbs the last couple of days, so I must really be dehydrated.
Eats are well. The weekend is almost here....I leave Sunday for the west coast to do a couple of presentations, then off to Kalispell, MT on Wed. and I will be back home on Friday night.
Keep up the fight gents!

Doing well.. went out to Chinese after my interview.. had beef and brocolli stir fry and a few of those chicken on a stick things, not sure what they are called. Tried a sausage they that tasted like a sugary breakfast sausage so just that one bite.

Dinner was late, about 9PM and was a 1lb container of hot wings from Wal-Mart.
Breakfast this AM was protein shake.

I might be going to local fair tomorrow if a date works out, I'll be fine not cheating there.

Have a good weekend guys

Hi guys

So far I have been sticking with it on this trip even though I had to pick up some local beef jerky. The salt will drive me up but that comes off in a couple days. Going out for prime rib tonight and have been getting in lots of walking with our dogs.

Hey guys,

Getting ready to head to Vermont for a long weekend. Went out for dinner, was going to be chinese but ended up at a local place. Special was 3 marinated pork chops with salad and green beans. Food was great service sucked. That gets me pissed. I mean it's a small place the waitress had all of seven tables to tend and she couldn't get it right to save her butt. Of course me being the happy camper that I am I let her know that I don't think she's in the right line of work. But anywho got all the food loaded in the camper DW bought tortia chips, why I don't know. You think after doing this WOE for the past 9 months she'd figure it out. Should be a good time, all hooked up and ready to go @ 6 AM. I don't know whe I'm going to sleep. I hope to get a few hours in before departure.

Grp and Dog doesn't look good for the Yanks.

Mack Phill's ain't lookin to promising either.

GO SOX!!!

Have a great weekend everyone. Ed Out till Monday
