Wanna make sure we stay above last week!

Was busy yesterday I guess, altho yesterday morning was quite relaxing just hanging out at home. Then DH and I went for a ride on the bike (motorcycle), then AFTER I came home and fixed my hair (helmet hair) , he took me out to lunch for sushi!

DD19 and I also went to Target....she needed some lighter dressier clothes for *teaching*, so thought that would be a good place to start out with a few pieces.....I ended up getting a very cute green baby cable knit sweater too!!!

Not sure what's on tap for today; raining here, so unless it stops, I will be heading to the Y again - went again yesterday, so yay me!!! My goal is 4-5 days of the week doing SOMETHING!

What's everyone up to, today???

Good Morning.............

The last week of March ---- time is flying!

Thanks for starting us up Cindy. Sounds like you had a great Saturday. We did too, took a drive down our scenic byway to the next town..........did alittle shopping (5 new bras  ) ............came home and chilled and then went for dinner with some friends.

Today.............we'll straighten up a bit.............hang in the sun a bit (we're expecting temps n the 80s) and then having mom, sis & BIL for the 1st BBQ of the season

I just this time of year.

Hoping everyone is doing well. Where has Sandy been? And Monica? And Marie? Missing Lise and Mel and Patty. Wondering how Carla & Stephanie & Robin & Jess have been. Hoping Rebecca stops by (and hoping her eye isn't giving her too much trouble ---- June is a long time off). Picturing Lou pranicing around in her new skinny bottoms . Picturing Berta kickboxing thru her house .

~sniff sniff~ Coffee's ready! Another cup Cindy

Hello my dear WW friends.
I am soooo depressed! sigh.

I am hanging my head in shame!

I went to walmart to buy me a pair of new caprise.. size 16.. because that is what I have been wearing.. came home tried them on and they are way TO SMALL!!!!
I stepped on the scale.. and well.. I am back up at 197lb. So.. over the last few month.. I have been slagging off.. not counting the weekly points.. ignoring the scale.. and the other signs... looking the other way.
Yesterday was the day that broke the camels back.
I have been studying to take a test to upgrade my liscence.. got up late, did not eat breakfast.. drove 1.5 with out friends. .who where also taking the test.. got there to early.. and everyone decided to have breakfast at MCdonalds.. !
I had a mc griddle and OJ... and than we went took the test.. I missed passing by 2 questions! sigh... so we drove home.. and decided to go for lunch to olive garden.. I had soup and salad and a whole PLATE OF CALAMARI! FRIED of course! and 2 BREADSTICKS! and that is how my eating has been.. .I eat sensible for 1/2 of the meal.. and then blow it with the other 1/2! or I try really hard to eat well for Breakfast, just to loose it over lunch! sigh.
I decided it just GOT TO STOP! Today! trying on those pants and finding that I was not even close fitting into them really made me almost cry.
what am I thinking!
So.. I put a big sign on the fridge... saying NO!!!! EAT SOME FRESH FRUIT. and DRINK YOUR WATER!!!
I don't know if it helps... but I hav to give it a try.
So.. trying to get back to the basics.. and organizing the kitchen the pantry and the fridge... going to make a meal plan for the week and try to stick with it.

I know Marie went to visit her Nephew that just came back from Iraq. So she will be back by tomorrow, I am sure.

Like I said.. I am just down in the dumps.. and feeling discusted with myself... and my lack of will power.

Peeking in!

Monika - YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! We will do it together!!!

Been running around with DH again, looking at trailers (for hauling stuff and his bike) and sheds for the back yard. I think we do this every weekend!

I have turkey chili on the stove, and will make the family cornbread to go with.....figure this will be the last chili day until fall.

Hope you are all having a great Sunday........I am eating OP and am going to head out on a hike soon; too warm and beautiful to work out inside!

Here I am, here I am!! I've been around trying to keep up with you all but not posting too much. I'm still trying to learn my Spanish and I've been spending alot of time studying that. Plus I've booked our Aug. vacation to Estes Park and next Feb. back to MX so I've been busy, busy, busy. DH bought me a gas grill for my BDay, a week early and I've been watching him get it all set up. We ordered a kit to convert it to natural gas so I have to wait til it gets here to cook on it. But I can look at it anyway. He's not a gas grill type guy but I love the convenience of them. And this one has an infrared burner so you can sear steaks so I'm hoping he'll convert. At least 1/2 the time anyway. I'm too impatient ot wait for charcoal!!

Monika, Like Berta said, we've all been there. You can do it and that's a great idea to put a note to yourself on your fridge door. Post them everywhere!! Take a pic of yourself trying to get those new pants fastened and post that where you see it everyday. Keep those pants and try them on once a week until they DO fit. You can do it, I know you can. And we'll help you as much as we can. Won't we??

Oh Cindy, I remember helmet hair!! I wish we still had a bike so I could have helmet hair too, but we don't and probably won't ever again. I keep telling DH I'm going to buy me a pink Harley and he just . I'll just have to show him I guess. Maybe for my 60th birthday,

Hello to everybody and have a great week!!

Hello to everybody and have a great week!!
oh I was so depressed and upset, and angry, I took those pants back faster than I had bought them. sigh.

thank you all for the positive comments and
I have been doing this for years now.. sigh.. telling myself I am on plan.. well.. as long as I count it.. LOL! and than when I go off, for whatever excuse.. I stop counting the points.. like if I do not acknowledge it, it will just go away and not count!
So.. I am going to try try try again.. and thank goodness I have you all.. because I think only those that have been there, done that, understand us.

Hugs to you all.. and so far so good for today... it is almost 3pm and I have been staying clean.

Hey everyone!

I'm here too. Just lazing around again today. DH had to go back to the mall to exchange a bunch of things. Why don't guys try on their clothes at the store? Or is it just my DH? He bought two pairs of shorts, a pair of pants, sneakers and a belt. He had to take back the belt and both pairs of shorts because none of it fit. I remember one time we were going on a cruise and he bought a bunch of clothes for the cruise. He packed them all and didn't even try them on until we were ON THE BOAT. He also brought a suit that he hadn't worn in a couple years that didn't come close to fitting. I told him I thought he looked studly in his skin tight trousers, but he was not amused.

Sandy - I've been to Estes Park before. It's beautiful. We went with another couple, which was not beautiful. The she part of the couple got really drunk on the plane (I think she even hurled) and was hungover and in bed the first day were there. Then they fought the whole time. We stayed in a really nice cabin.

Monika - Don't beat yourself up. I think we've all had periods where we just jump ship for awhile. You've come to the right place for support. And I like the sign on the refrigerator too. I need to get back into fruits myself actually.

Berta - you keep up with the way you're going and you'll be down a size or two in no time. I'm really happy with my new pants. And I'm even happier that they were on sale for $15.

Hey Cindy! Thanks for the coffee. Helmet head / Hat hair. DH has hat hair all the time. Me, not so much. I'm not a good hat wearer. I can't figure out if I have a big head or a small head. It sometimes looks tiny perched on this big body, but hats fly off my head when I wear them, so I fear I am really a big head.

I think I freaked out the store lady in Target quizzing her about baby heads. I was picking out a hat for a new baby and they had small, medium and large. How do you pick, I asked? Does a big baby necessarily have a big head? Do you pick out the size based on the age, like with clothes? (Another area that puzzled me - my mother told me to get a 12 month size for a 6 month old baby. What she DIDN'T tell me was that they would have 6-12 month and 12-24 month sizes - THEY OVERLAP. ) Do all babies have the same sized heads at certain ages? Do they grow into their heads? Do their heads grow much and grow fast after they're born? I mean, if I get the large, will the head grow to fit into it if it's too big? Or by the time the head is big enough to fit into the large, will the head no longer be a baby head and, therefore, not wear the baby hat? Can you imagine what would happen if the baby's head grew at the same rate their body did? People would have HUGE heads. I don't know where I'm going with this......I was just reminded of that conversation. The store lady went and got her store lady friend and they both pondered over my many questions.

Speaking of store ladies....THREE TIMES yesterday I was mistaken for a store lady. Back to back, "Do you work here's" as I was choosing my new trousers in Sears. Do I look like a Sears employee? No. I do not. Why would a store lady be checking the price of things on the Price Checker thing (I LOVE those things) and why would she be wearing sunglasses on her head and have a general look of *****iness? People ask me that a lot. I have no idea why. I guess I look like I work everywhere.

I have work to do. And I'm not going to do it until later.

Lou

Hello Everyone!
My name is joanne . Im a 35 year old mom and grandmom. I have been doing low carb on and off for a few years now..never losing more than 25 pounds for giving up too easily. I have recently switched back to ww(tried it before for a brief period) for my husband who is also trying to quit smoking and lose weight. He is unwilling to try low carb and I can see ww fitting our lifestyle better. So i am here to stick with it this time and make it my (our) way of life.
I know jenn, lise and marie from the boards and look forward to getting to know each of you!

welcome Joanne!
its a battle for me lately... My husband loved Atkins and Low Carbs, because he could eat as much as he wanted! LOL! but at the end, not only did I think it was not very healthy, we stopped losing. To much fat! and lack of portion control!

So here we are... trying to eat less and make better choices..

Welcome Joanne! I was a grandma at 35 too. It's great b/c I'm still young with my grown up grandkids! I'll be 57 Friday. But I still feel 35. Heck I still feel 18 but I'm sure that's a hard one to sell to anyone. Anyway, welcome and I look forward to getting to know you.

Lou,
You do work everywhere, that's why people are always asking. How many jobs do you work at now? Whatever became of the mayor job? I sure wish something would ocme along so you could so sayonara to the butt. And hey, at least your DH will shop for himself. I have to buy my DH everything, take it home, make him try it on, take it back, exchange it, take it back home, make him try it on, and on and on and on. You get the picture. I can just picture your DH on the cruise with all the clothes laying on the bed and nothing fitting. I bet he was po'd!

I cleaned a few old clothes out of the closet today for the Veteran's pickup. I really need to get rid of more but I still like them. I need to not buy anything new for a year or two.

Amazing race is on tonight. I love that show. My oldest grandson and my SIL were on the news last night. The news caught them at a sports bar watching the KU/UCLA game. Boohooo, KU lost, but it was fun to see them on TV.

Have a great evening everybody,

Happy Sunday! It's been such a restful weekend! Our first weekend without hockey games for my DS since labor day!!! I hardly know what to do with myself.

Monika, I had a few weeks of out of control eating so I can really relate. I think what happens, at least for me, is that "newness" had worn off (oh boy, isn't it fun to track points and look up the value of everything ), I had lost some weight so I was fitting into clothes I hadn't worn in awhile (success, so why should I keep working at it?? ), and I stopped making it a priority (if I didn't have to work or tend to my family and could focus only on me it would make life so much easier ). So you had a wake up call. Dust yourself off and get back on the horse.

Joanne, I think most of the people on this thread started with Atkins but found that it didn't work in the long haul for them. I need portion control and I need a wider variety of foods. WW gives me that.

Linc, you crack me up! A few questions: do you by chance wear a name tag? A red shirt while shopping in Taget? Or are you not as *****y as you think? All could explain the "are you an employee" questions.

As for baby sizes, whatever age the baby, double it to determine what size clothes the kid is currently wearing. No baby wears a 0-3 month unless it's a preemie. I swear it's just a ploy to get people to buy clothes for baby showers that will never be worn...

What to eat for dinner...what to eat? DH is watching sports with buddies, DS has gone to MacDonald's with his girlfriend who is "just a friend" with whom he talks for hours on the phone each day... I'm bummed I'm out of meatloaf muffins.

So.. I am going to try try try again.. and thank goodness I have you all.. because I think only those that have been there, done that, understand us.

Hugs to you all.. and so far so good for today... it is almost 3pm and I have been staying clean.
ON YOUR ONE WHOLE DAY. TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME. THAT IS WHAT I HAVE TO DO. AND YOU KNOW ACTUALLY THERE IS A VERSE IN THE BIBLE THAT SAYS TO "LIVE ONE DAY AT A TIME AS TOMORROW HAS ENOUGH TROUBLES OF IT'S OWN"OR SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THAT ANYWAY. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK I AM PERSONALLY VERY PROUD OF YOU

Lou

Hi everyone....

We went to Church today ....my old Catholic Church...the old priest retired last year and I've been meaning to check out the new guy...the new younger priest was very interesting and we now have a small choir...I may end up going back since I actually got something out of the sermon......and it's walking distance too......

Kate's car didn't win any awards....she won 3 first heats and 2 second heats but not one 3rd so no finals for her but it sure was fun....if I can upload pics I will....I'm so right now since I can't find my program to upload....honestly...it had to have been uninstalled somehow and I have no idea who the culprit is or what to do about it....I tried to re-install from the discs but it keeps say I need flash micromedia ....my brother thinks that it's looking for an older version since my camera is three years old...I need to write to Sony to see if they can help me ....their site help dept was useless....

My eating is out the window....my mom took us to a new Chinese buffet last night to thank us for doing her taxes...I went overboard....and the worst part is that after we were done and I starting thinking about it this place had a million LC or WW friendly dishes....I could easily have stayed on plan...the sushi bar alone would have made a nice meal....and there was a crab leg and shrimp bar... ...I'm so tired of all the self sabotage...

I'm going to give up on core....portion control has been an issue....*sigh....back to points tomorrow...

Jo........ ....you will get lots of support, advise and friendship here...

Ok...time to get Muffin to bed....

all around

You nailed it with the above! After almost two years, the newness has DEFINITELY worn off for me. I have to really get myself motivated to get back on track these days. And with the clothes fitting better, people telling me how great I look, etc. it's tough to get motivated. But I am.

No, no name tag. I guess I just have that "May I help you" type look on my face all the time. It's funny, I haven't been in a job where I have to be nice to people in many, many years.

I forgot about meatloaf muffins. Yum.....

Joanne - welcome! Yes, we all started with Atkins (I guess that's how we ended up here on the low carb board LOL) and found it just wasn't "doing it" for us. I need portion control and HATE being told anything is off limits - like pie, which I am craving for whatever reason.

I'm still not used to the time change. It's after 6 here and it still feels like the afternoon. Time to start thinking about dinner which will be:

Porkchops w/teriaki sauce
and peas or beans
and maybe some rice too

As you can tell, today is a winging it day - I have not been counting. BAD ME!!! Back to counting tomorrow though. And I bought a bunch of apples for the week - more fruit.

Lou

MEATLOAF MUFFINS? YUMMO RECIPE PLEASE.
MY DGS AND I MADE THE WW CHOC CHIP COOKIES FOR 2 PTS EACH THIS WEEK AND THER ARE REALLY GREAT. AND I MADE THE WW POTATO CANADIAN BACON SOUP WHICH IS GREAT FOR 2 POINTS FOR 1 1/2 CUP SERVINGS

THAT IS WHY I AM STAYING WITH FLEX. I HAVE PORTION CONTROL NOW AS IT IS, SO CORE WOULD BE BAD FOR ME UNTIL I LEARN HOW TO HANDLE THE FOOD AND MY EATING. I HAVE NOT WENT OVER THIS WEEK YET AND I HAVE EXERCISED AT LEAST FIVE NIGHTS .SO I AM LOOKING FOR LOSS THIS WEEK

Have you seen this? Weight Watchers Tried and True Recipes

Great recipes from your friends here. Except, I notice that the meatloaf muffin recipe is not there? Dudes? (yes, I just called you all dudes - I'm feeling very CA right now ) I'll have to dig to find it - anyone have it handy?

I feel gross - I'm wearing too tight pants and I can feel the belly fat squishing out. It's nothing I ate - I skipped the rice, as a matter of fact - just one of those "fat" days, you know?
