Berta, Adam doesn't talk at all, but he does give good kisses. LOL. he's a very affectionate bird and when he gets in the kissing mood, he WILL NOT go back into his cage until he thinks he's given enough kisses out.

Today was the start of a new WW at Work session. Several new people. I couldn't get over how many are former life time members (moi incluced--at least twice, maybe three times). All those old plans...I remember the food exchange and the little calculator thingy that you slid over as you ate food from the different food groups... I definately like the current plan the best.

The first time I tried WW was in the late 80's, maybe '87, again before I got married in '90 (first time as a life time member). Twice since I've been in NY, I think '97 (lifetime) and '04 very briefly. Atkins in '99. Body for Life in '03.

I remember doing Slimfast--I think it was Slimfast--in '83. It was shakes you made in the your blender for every single meal. Gag. I did Stillman in highschool with my mom in '79.

Too many diets...

I was down .4 lbs today. I'll take it. A little over 9 lbs in 12 weeks. Considering that I don't have too much to lose I'll take anything that has the scale moving in the right direction.

Patty, how are things? Emma? Your mom? Fill us in when you feel up to it.

One point for the Fiber One bars? Really? I figured it as two. Will have to go recalculate.

good morning and TGIF my friends.
well.. I know TOM is around the corner.. but dispite that... I hit the big 200 this morning.
almost vomited! and fainted! sigh.
So... portion control will be what I will be concentrating on for the next few days. Dusted off the scale... and the measuring cups.. and hoping to get control of this!
Almost did not feel like posting this morning.. but than who else would understand and done that and been there?
so...I know it will not be easy.. and I will be grumby .... .. but got to get control of this. sigh. Like I said.. I think TOM is knocking on the door.. and in another hour or two.. I probably will be under the mark and onederland.. but.. still quiet a bolt of lightening hitting me this morning.
I guess I needed that jolt!

Good morning friends, happy Friday!!!!
back Stella, I'm one of the newbies.

My SIL just joined WW, she is a lifetime member too but had gained 10 lbs in a year, she wants me to do it with her so we can encourage each other, I agreed to stick to it.

Nothing much going on this end. BBL to check on everyone.

Good morning! Bright and sunny here....but I think we are supposed to get rain.... Hope the weather liars are wrong!
Printed out stuff on the old program from yesterday's discussion....I think I would like to try that....
Becky: How is Adam doing? Thinking of you both!
Jenn: All back home? No more Jury Duty? How are things on the mountain?
Lise: How is work lately? Are you like me? I am never happy....the girl that worked with me and changed jobs I didn't like because she was snooty, etc. Now the girl that took her place is a sweet young thang and just busy chatting, IM-ing, listening to music....and not doing her work! I went from one extreme to another and that is one reason I don't have time for on here....by the time the day is over at work, I am mentally exhausted from trying to get ahead/now keep up with work.

Good morning!
I'm down another .5 pounds this a.m. to a solid 139!!! I am going to have a very challenging weekend starting today but it's nice to see that number today. I should paste it in front of my eyes, lol.

The only thing I"m doing differently than the last several months is taking the extra light olive oil 2-3x a day. It really just makes me feel not hungry so it's not hard to limit my portions and be satisfied. Carolyn (Stella's Mom) is who told me about it and she's using the sugar water instead and it's not causing cravings. I don't want anyone to think I'm pushing this or knocking WW, you know I think it's a fantastic plan, but I'm just bringing it up again b/c it seems like alot of us are struggling with appetite control and portion control and this is very doable along with the WW program. You just count the oil or sugar water in your daily points and continue with your day as usual. After a couple of days appetite suppresion kicks in and just takes away that constant urge to eat that so many of us deal with.

I'm going to lunch with one of my best friends today, then dinner with other friends tonight. Tomorrow we're going to see Love, Janis. The story of Janis Joplin's life from the book of the same name. After that, out to dinner with DH. Then Sun. DD is making me homemade lasagna for my birthday dinner. She's making a SF strawberry pudding type pie for my cake. Maybe it'll balance out the lasagna, haha!

I took off work today b/c it's my birthday. Someone asked me if it was a big one.....I told him at this point they're all big, lol. He just laughed and laughed. He's facing his 50th soon so he'll soon understand what I meant.

I also woke up with an earache! I never get earaches! I sure hope it doesn't lead to something. I'm going to take a decongestant and see if I can open up my ear tubes. I sure don't have time to get sick this weekend.

You all have a great day!!

Sounds like your weekend will be fun Sandy. Hope your earache goes away, those can be really painful.
I have to read up on the olive oil, do you drink it straight up? That would be hard to do.

Yep, straight up with water chaser. There's no taste to it. It's the extra LIGHT, not extra virgin. So no taste.

I remember when I did Richard Simmons... sheeeezzzz way back in the early80's.. I used to drink every morning a glass of "warm" water with the lemon juice and a table spoon of honey! it was supposed to help with "cleansing"! the body??? to loooong ago to remember! sigh

went back on the scale and even with my cloth on I am at 198! so... that is still way up from where I was a few weeks ago.. but.. down from the 200 shocker this morning.

I've been taking 3 doses of 1 T. each but today and the rest of the weeekend I'm going to just take 2 T first thing in the morning. It's supposed to work that way too so we'll see. I know today at lunch I could hardly even eat anything! I left over 1/2 the food on my plate, and it was delicious too. I just felt too full to eat anymore. So that's a good thing. We'll see how the rest of the weekend goes.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everybody!

Hi everybody!

I'm an old online friend of Lou's, and this thread moves FAST, but I think I'll bookmark it and try to learn something.

My BF does WW Core and we eat the exact same things...funny how he continues to lose and I continue to gain...I think he's giving me his extra fat though osmosis or something!

I'll try to read through all the posts and get caught up. Nice to "meet" you!

Happy birthday Sandy!!!!!!! I'm telling you, with as young as you look (and as firm as you are getting with all that exercising) there's no way you look anywhere near the "big" birthdays.
