Hi guys, Adam goes to the vet tomorrow about his toe. It looks awful. I will either come home with hiim in his carrier to burry or leave him for surgery on Thursday. I know too much about birds to know there is going to be no in-between, he can either be saved or not. NORMALLY to put a bird under sadition to remove a toe is not big deal, but given that I've had him for 20 years, and the same vet (though at a new location) thought that he was 2-3 when I acquired him in 1987, I think will be the deciding point with the vet. But I am willing to chance it, because I don't feel that Adam has a choice, so I have to at least try to have it removed. The funny thing is that I have a 10 year old parakeet that lived with her great-great-grandmother, and Jasmine BIT one of Bungie's toes off, one by one by one. All Bungie has is her "so called" thumb's, the claw that is on the back of the foot, she's missing all the other 3, parakeets have 4 toes total] I'm very worried about my little green guy. Prayers for my little Adam would be greatly appreciated by Adam AND myself (AND my DH which is paying for all of this. He thinks that birds should be outside, flying free. But he understands that I LOVE my pets.

Lots of for you and Adam and extra for you from a fellow pet person....I lost my Caique early December....still miss him. The cage is still sitting there as a reminder....Not 100% sure yet that I won't get another bird but leaning towards it. I still have my Pionus "Bubba".

Good morning my funny friends. You made me laugh this morning.

Rebecca, I hope everything goes well with your birdie. I hope he makes it, I had a parrot for 15 years, hand raised then I moved and a month into the new house they stole it, I cried for days, I still miss her.

Well, I speak Spanish to bring on the questions. Now I never heard verga for pennis, must be Mexican spanish, its funny how every country has a different dialect for the same language, that was too funny though. Where I work, we have Hatians, Jamaicans, etc. They teach me bad words and I teach them too, so I can pick a fight in haitian, jamaican, spanish and english. I love it.

I am really frustrated with my eating, I am just out of control and no matter how hard I try I continue to overeat. I dont think WW is working for me, (not the plan just me not working it), I havent been counting my points and have been eating a lot of junk. I am thinking of going back to lc, not atkins I never did atkins I eat more whole foods, just keep it lc, like core, but I have got to get my eating under control. I was so frustrated after my binge last night that I hoped on the elliptical and did 30 minutes so I worked out twice yesterday, but eating so much is not going to do a thing.....so bear with me while I try to find myself once again

Oh the bars are called FiberOne, I think they are made by General Mills and are together with all the other cereal bars. Minky I noticed you said they were 2 points, I get one and on the WW site it said it was one, so either way one or 2 they are delicious and very satisfying, I like them better than the other brands which have a lot more points

Oh AI was good last night. I think Gina did very well. Chris has lost his charm a bit and Shanjays hair he needs a flat iron, what was that all about?

Have you all seen the Shangri-La diet thread here? It really helps with appetitie suppresion. You do whatever program you want as you do the SLD plan along with it. For those of you dealing with portion control it might be a great help.

Rebecca, I sure hope everything turns out well for your birdie. Poor thing.

Illy, So find out how your friends would all say Lou's little line and share with us. I too thought it might be slang b/c when I put it in babel fish translator it says verga means yard!! I can see some men trying to claim that, lol.

I already got my workout in this a.m.!! I've been up since 5. Awake since 4:30!! I still need to walk but I'll do that later with Bailey after work. Hopefully it won't be raining.

Have a great day everybody!!

OMG - I almost died! They said the same thing on the radio show I listen to in the morning. That was ridiculous and I feel he is almost being disrespectful to Simon now!!! I so hope he goes home; I also figure Chris Sligh might be on the chopping block tonight.....

I decided this morning that I needed to concentrate on my morning routine and would check in with you all when I got to work. It's so easy to get sidetracked with you all here!

Eating good.
Got to the Y Yesterday.
Only downfall is I had a handful of jelly belly jelly beans the last couple of days, but know they are lf or ff so won't worry about it.

Sandy - I did see that SLD thing - I was confused about oil or sugar though!

Becky - hugs to poor little Adam and you!

Have a great day all!

I will leave a little..............

sjl330 that would be too embarrazing I was thinking it sounded like fence, I think puerto ricans call it verga, Cubans call it cerca (which also means close by).
Now if you say Pink gun and dont pronounce the K then it will be really bad, sort of a big verga

This morning I had eggs topped with cheese. For lunch I made tuna salad. I am going to give my lc another try, I do the best on it. I will still use the ww portion control and less fat principles but I just cant handle eating everything, even if its portion controlled, I have no control. Wanna know what I had last night? condensed milk and later 2 cereal bars (not the fiberone the one that has like 3 pts each). I cant have stuff like that at home, then they had oreos buy 1/get one free on sale. I didnt buy them but I really really wanted to. Its crazy

Good morning....

Thanks for the laughs this morning ladies....

Berta...congrats on the loss......

It's official....I'm switching back to flex starting tomorrow...I have too much trouble with portion control...and I really miss my treats....my treats keep me sane and OP....I like to eat until I'm full which I can do when I count my points and make them more filling....

AI friends....I actually liked Sanjaya's hair last night....it sure was different and sorta fit the theme....I'm not sure what he's thinking...it looked to me like last week and this week he's just decided to have fun..he doesn't seem as scared..and I agree....I'm sure he knows he's not going to come anywhere near to winning....a couple more weeks at the most...I was happy for little Jordin...she seems so genuine and really is improving every week....Melinda and Lakisha can really sing but I just can't warm up to them...I'll just say that Sligh had a bad week....I can't bring myself to say he was terrible because he is still my favourite....Blake too...I can't warm up to Chris R...something about his voice annoys me...very much like Fantasia's did....Gina was terrific....right in her element....she looks like she lost a lot of weight.......ok...that's enough

I better get some work done...

Lise

Unfortunately, I have to agree. It was not his best night.

Lise - Rebecca feels the same way about Chris R, something about his voice. Melinda was great as usual, & I just love Lakisha. Gina was also really, really good. Jordin is really working her way up. I think she's great. Last week she was talking to Ryan and just her mannerisms and the way she looks, everything about her, reminds me of Rebecca's niece Illy. So I said to Rebecca "do you know who she reminds me of?" And Rebecca's reply was Illy. So we were both thinking the same thing. Except Rebecca's Illy is 12...

Well, of course I'm busy today, so off I go to get some work done. I've made my number for the quarter so that is a relief.

Leaving for Jenn, Lou, Sandy, Patty (I think about you all the time, hope all is well), Marie, and everybody

hello my WW friends. Sorry did not check in first thing this morning.. time got away from me... doing this and that.
and now it is lunchtime.. having my veggie soup. and maybe a salad.
tonight we are having a meeting at the fabulous steakhouse.. sigh.. but I already know what I am going to order..so I should be ok.
Went and stood in line to renew DH jeep plates, just to be told that they could not do it here..because he is getting NEW plates.. because every 6-8 years you have to get NEW plates... sigh... so I have to go down town, stand in line again.. to get it done. And I hate going down town El Paso... Its all small roads.. lots construction, busy.. and no parking for me and my big full size 12 passenger van!
oh well.. I am going tomorrow morning, because I think there will be less traffic and a better chance for me to get parking!

Rebecca - to you and I hope Adam's feet are OK. I hate when my animals aren't in tip-top shape.

Illy - I don't know where verga comes from. I could totally have the spelling wrong too. I used to have the pronunciation wrong at first, but the girls in the office corrected me. We used to have one girl from Cuba, one from Puerto Rico, one from El Salvador and one from Mexico. After the Mexican one left, all the other girls talked about how she used "ghetto" Spanish. So, I slipped into the Cuban one's office one day, assumed the position and announced, "Mi verga es la verga del fuego!" And she just about died laughing. I once whispered it into the Puerto Rican girl's ear. They both knew what I was saying, as much as I butchered the Spanish language.

So, the antibiotics I took for my wounded hand have given me an infection "down there." Literally, mi verga es la verga del fuego. I mean, assuming by verga, I really mean who-ha.

Marie - I have been seriously thinking about tightening things up here and going back to the exchanges myself. Of course, I still have all the materials. Along with my Richard Simmons Deal-a-Meal, my Atkins stuff, my Lean for Life stuff, my Grapefruit Diet stuff, Blood type diet stuff, and a host of other weight loss plans. I think I may be missing week 5 or something like that. Would you be at all interested in a mini-challenge? Anyone? I think I may start next week. I remember the first two weeks are tough, but I think that's what I need.

Berta - CONGRATULATIONS! Keep working it! I lost .5 this week. Hey, it's something, right?

Lise - portion control is why I could never do core. I eat when I'm not hungry too. I eat whenever I can it seems. You wanna try exchanges with me?

Cindy - I haven't been following AI as closely as I usually do, but you know who I thought kind of sucked last night was Hally - is that her name? She sung a slow song and I thought she was all over the map with it. Just stinkola. Sinjia wasn't as bad as I thought he was going to be. I kind of feel bad for him. He doesn't deserve to be there and he knows it. That's a lot of pressure for such a young kid. And he does have talent - he's just a big goofball. And he doesn't have anywhere near the talent that the others have.

And I still can't get past the neckless condition of Belinda. Her gigantic head looks like it's propped up on her shoulders. I've never seen a person whose chin touches their chest, except in cartoons.

Oh crap - I had more to post, but the phone is ringing off the hook right now. Gotta run...

Lou

Lou you are hilarious.

"ghetto" Spanish
I know exactly what you mean about Ghetto Spanish, some countries speak a lot more ghetto than others, then you have the argentinians who speak really proper like the British. Its the same no matter what language I guess.

The way I've heard it pronounced is more like verha ver-ha (like ha ha). Either way its funny, my friend just called me, he is as american as you can get and when he was here (he is a doctor) they taugh him how to say pain in the #@@, but when you translate it to spanish, what he is saying is his $@@ hurts, its just so funny.

I agree with everything you posted on AI, my dh loves Hailey he thinks she is so pretty so I naturally hate her, Chris I like and Blake, Melissa and Lakisha are really good I just feel the same, there is no charm, especially Melissa, I kept looking at her neck and wondering what was different about her, she has a very short neck that's why her face hangs down like that.
I do like Jordan a lot. I better stop, I got in trouble last year for saying I didnt like one of the guys.
