Yes, it is nice to have hair. And now I'll have flat hair because I will soon have a new flat iron. Who knew such things existed? I still don't want it blowing around getting messed up though. I think the wind is what knocked the power out this morning and caused all those computer problems.

I'm getting a flat iron.

WELL I AM MOST OF THE TIME.BUT BELIEVE ME I HAVE MY DAYS TOO
JUST ASK MY DD OR DH

I BOUGHT A CHI FLAT IRON FROM E--- AND USED IT AND IT STRAIGHTENED MY HAIR SO MUCH IT WAS FLAT AS A FLITTER. SO THEN I HAD TO USE MY BIGCURLING IRON TO GIVE IT SOME BODY. I DONT LIKE GOING THROUGH ALL THAT SO I JUST MOSTLY WEAR MY NATURAL CURLS

ONE MORNING A WHILE BACK ABOUT FOUR OR FIVE MONTHS NOW
I WANTED THE SLEEK AND SMOOTH LOOK SO........
I ROLLED THE TOP PART OF MY HAIR IN THE BIG CURLING IRON AND WHEN I UNROLLED IT MY HAIR WAS STILL ON THE CURLING IRON IT BURNED IT OFF TO 1/2 IN SO THEN I HAD TO COMB MY HAIR OVER TO THE SIDE FOR QUITE SOMETIME BEFORE IT GREW BACK. OH WAS I EVER SHOCKED WHEN I SAW IT STICKING THERE STILL ON THAT CURLING IRON

SO BE CAREFUL YOU DONT LET IT GET TO HOT

Lou you never fail to crack me up

I also learned that you should put something on your hair before you iron it to protect it. I've been using Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum and am really liking it. CHI also makes something, I just can't remember the name of it.

Berta you are funny I found it odd getting used to straight, flat hair. When it is curly it is much fuller. Did you find the staight hair feels really different on your head?

I lost my hair a few years ago after having chemo treatments. When it grew back in it was initially extremely curly, but after a year or so it settled into being mostly wavy. So now I can either straighten or wear it wavy. Given my choice, though, I'd take my curly hair back in a minute.

Lise - I forgot to say, what a cutie pie picture of your daughter in your avi!

Yes, Lou,
Your posts always make me smile, if not laugh right out loud. And I love to laugh so keep 'em comin' sistah!!

Sending good vibes to Berta's WW scale tonight!! Be sure to post your results.

My new grill is going to be hooked up to natural gas too as soon as the conversion kit comes and DH has time to re-run the line. When we had the new deck built we got rid of the old grill and cut the line off. I can't wiat to try it out. I'm most looking forward to grilling fish, for some reason. Grilled mahi mahi sandwiches from my favorite little beach bar in Puerto Vallarta keep running through my head. I'm going to try to recreate them. Wish me luck.

I'm still working on my Spanish. I guess I'm making progress b/c I checked a Pimsleur set out of the library and I didn't learn one NEW thing from it. It was good review though. I just might be able to speak it one day!! I just wish I had someone to practice on.

I LOVE grilled mahi-mahi.

Don't know if you know this, but Rebecca speaks fluent Spanish. So if you ever have any questions I can run them by her for you.

Thanks Mel,
My biggest problem is I have a real problem rolling my R's. But all the programs say to just keep practicing and that's what I do. It's funny, it seems I can do it better if I whisper but if I try outloud I can't do it. I could never do the machine gun sound my brothers did either and believe me, I spent hours of my young life trying as hard as I could to no avail.

The hardest part is definitely leaving food on my plate when I am full, but I was finding that with FLEX, even if I was stuffed (from say a huge salad) but I still had 3 points left, I would eat my planned snack of yogurt & raspberries, or whatever it was that I had planned for the day. I really want to get away from that, listen to my hunger and eat accordingly. This morning I was eating some oatmeal with banana and cottage cheese. I got about halfway done and was satisfied, so the rest went in the garbage. I did experience some separation anxiety, though
Good for you on tossing the rest of your oatmeal. That's another issue for me. As someone who was taught to clean their plate growing up, it's difficult to throw food away.

They have everything but the kitchen sunk in them and have I think an exchange of everything. They were one of my favorite WW foods back then. Remember what a thrill it was at week two to be able to add bread? And then I think at week three you could add pasta? I also believe it was week two that added wine and beer.....I still have those books. And I think they still list the "exchanges " on WW product labels. LOL - I used to say tequila was a vegetable exchange. You know, because it's made from the cactus, which is a plant, which naturally qualifies as a vegetable. Add some margarita mix (a fruit exchange) and enjoy a perfectly on-plan beverage.
My mother talks about the "original" WW plan (circa 1970) that had you eating beef liver once or twice a week. GAG! She actually likes liver but for the rest of us in the house.

I don't think I can have those in the house any more. I bought them, they're delicious...very delicious...and only 2 points, but they set off my chocolate cravings. I bought some of the Kashi bars last time.

All this talk of flat irons. I have pencil straight hair, think Peggy Lipton from Mod Squad (nods to Linc). I use a curling iron on it. The grass is always greener on the other side...

At a place called Goodman's online. I read good reviews about the one I got (and I have already forgotten which one it is) but it was advertised at somewhere in the $100 range. I need to start doing something different with my hair. But not cutting it myself, which I do all the time. My hairdresser hates when I get creative that way.

You are just too talented!! You could just phoenetically spell it out for me and I could practice the audio at least. Does it have rolling r's in it? If it does it'll come out all Americanized anyway.

And yes Mel, I'll become known as The Crazy Whispering Tourist. That made me laugh out loud too. Wow, twice in one day. I love it!!!

Mi verga es la verga del fuego.

Roll the "r" with verga (both times) and at the same time, do a pelvic thrust (both times). Your hands must be on your hips, of course, and you say this phrase with authority, pausing briefly after the first verga to give your audience time to ponder what will follow.

Lou

PS. No, Berta, mi verga is an imaginary verga.
