JUST ASK MY DD OR DH I BOUGHT A CHI FLAT IRON FROM E--- AND USED IT AND IT STRAIGHTENED MY HAIR SO MUCH IT WAS FLAT AS A FLITTER. SO THEN I HAD TO USE MY BIGCURLING IRON TO GIVE IT SOME BODY. I DONT LIKE GOING THROUGH ALL THAT SO I JUST MOSTLY WEAR MY NATURAL CURLS ONE MORNING A WHILE BACK ABOUT FOUR OR FIVE MONTHS NOW I WANTED THE SLEEK AND SMOOTH LOOK SO........ I ROLLED THE TOP PART OF MY HAIR IN THE BIG CURLING IRON AND WHEN I UNROLLED IT MY HAIR WAS STILL ON THE CURLING IRON IT BURNED IT OFF TO 1/2 IN SO THEN I HAD TO COMB MY HAIR OVER TO THE SIDE FOR QUITE SOMETIME BEFORE IT GREW BACK. OH WAS I EVER SHOCKED WHEN I SAW IT STICKING THERE STILL ON THAT CURLING IRON SO BE CAREFUL YOU DONT LET IT GET TO HOT ![]()

I also learned that you should put something on your hair before you iron it to protect it. I've been using Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum and am really liking it. CHI also makes something, I just can't remember the name of it. |

I found it odd getting used to straight, flat hair. When it is curly it is much fuller. Did you find the staight hair feels really different on your head?I lost my hair a few years ago after having chemo treatments. When it grew back in it was initially extremely curly, but after a year or so it settled into being mostly wavy. So now I can either straighten or wear it wavy. Given my choice, though, I'd take my curly hair back in a minute. Lise - I forgot to say, what a cutie pie picture of your daughter in your avi! |

Yes, Lou,
Your posts always make me smile, if not laugh right out loud. And I love to laugh so keep 'em comin' sistah!! Sending good vibes to Berta's WW scale tonight!! Be sure to post your results. My new grill is going to be hooked up to natural gas too as soon as the conversion kit comes and DH has time to re-run the line. When we had the new deck built we got rid of the old grill and cut the line off. I can't wiat to try it out. I'm most looking forward to grilling fish, for some reason. Grilled mahi mahi sandwiches from my favorite little beach bar in Puerto Vallarta keep running through my head. I'm going to try to recreate them. Wish me luck. I'm still working on my Spanish. I guess I'm making progress b/c I checked a Pimsleur set out of the library and I didn't learn one NEW thing from it. It was good review though. I just might be able to speak it one day!! I just wish I had someone to practice on.

I LOVE grilled mahi-mahi. Don't know if you know this, but Rebecca speaks fluent Spanish. So if you ever have any questions I can run them by her for you. |

Thanks Mel,
My biggest problem is I have a real problem rolling my R's. But all the programs say to just keep practicing and that's what I do. It's funny, it seems I can do it better if I whisper but if I try outloud I can't do it. I could never do the machine gun sound my brothers did either and believe me, I spent hours of my young life trying as hard as I could to no avail. |

All this talk of flat irons. I have pencil straight hair, think Peggy Lipton from Mod Squad (nods to Linc). I use a curling iron on it. The grass is always greener on the other side... Minky |

At a place called Goodman's online. I read good reviews about the one I got (and I have already forgotten which one it is) but it was advertised at somewhere in the $100 range. I need to start doing something different with my hair. But not cutting it myself, which I do all the time. My hairdresser hates when I get creative that way.

Roll the "r" with verga (both times) and at the same time, do a pelvic thrust (both times). Your hands must be on your hips, of course, and you say this phrase with authority, pausing briefly after the first verga to give your audience time to ponder what will follow. Lou PS. No, Berta, mi verga is an imaginary verga. |

Has anyone seen the Saturday Night Live video with Justin Timberlake? D!ck in a box? It's on UTube. Two men sing about giving their girlfriends a d!ck in the a box for Xmas and you see them standing there with a box suspended in front of their flys. The explanation doesn't do it justice...but it goes along quite well with Lou's Spanish phrasing... Minky |

Verga Whisperer
I forgot to tell you guys about my yummy snack today...... 1 pt english muffin - toasted with 1 pt laughing cow cheese wedge and a sliced tomato with a sprinkle of garlic salt. 2 points of heaven! I have no idea what made me think of this......cheese I guess and all this foreign language stuff... They used to have these mock commercials on a radio station I listened to. One was about a perfume called "Coup La Fromage" ("Cut the Cheese" for the French-challenged) and for men, "Windbreaker." When you want to be left standing in a room......alone. Just find the bottle shaped like a finger - and pull. There. Unless I can come up with a potty mouth haiku, I think I'm done with the toilet humor for the day. Could it because I watched Joe Dirt the other night? Lou |

For my AI peeps
what was up with Sanjaya tonight? I think he is blatantly trying to be as bad as possible and see if he still gets through. He knows he's not going to win, and now he's on the tour, so with that hair tonight it makes me think he's trying to be bad on purpose! Vote for the worst loves him, it will be interesting to see if he stays. OK, g'night all. Good times today you all ![]() |

WELL I AM BACK BUT IT'S LATE JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW I LOST ALMOST ALL THE TWO LBS I GAINED LAST WEEK
. I LOST 1.8 WHEW WAS I GLAD. I HAVE TO GET MORE VEGETABLES IN THIS WEEK.AND THE LEADER TOLD ME THAT WHEN YOU EXERCISE THE ONLINE TRACKER TAKES THE POINTS AWAY FROM YOUR EXERCISE POINTS FIRST, BEFORE THE WEEKLY EXTRA POINTS. SO I GUESS THAT IS JUST THE WAY IT HAS TO BE? I EARNED 40 EXERCISE PTS THIS WEEK BUT NOW I CANT USE THEMCAUSE IT IS'T A NEW WEEK FOR ME I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A PEACEFUL, RESTFUL, GOOD DREAM FILLED NIGHT. UNTIL TOMORROW ![]() Last edited by Berta48; 03-27-2007 at 07:31 PM.. |
