I saw a new number on the scale today as well but it wasn't one I wanted to see boy how one cheat can throw you back.Still doing the '72 plan, almost lost it today but was able to hang on. Made some yummy Revolution rolls for the first time and it was quite nice to have something different. Actually I think that I am going to have one now, I'll be back. ![]() |

sorry about your loss mycattaz[quote=Off My Duff;8202369]Even though I don't like meat, I truly believe that low carb is what's going to help me, if only I can stick to it. I haven't been able to all the times I've attempted it so far, but I can't allow myself to give up. I'm a perfectionist who throws in the towel the first time I slip up and eat something "off plan", but this time I'm kind of "backing" my way into a low carb eating plan. I'm gradually reducing my carbs, in hopes that I can stick to it long enough for it to do some good.[quote] I know exactly where you are coming from with the perfectionism thing, I've been struggling with that for the past couple of months and i think thats the worst thing for yo-yo'ers, well for me anyhow, because i'm super strict for a bit, then binge and back and forth. I'm also not the biggest meat fan either, i was a vegetarian for many years and just started eating it again in the past few years. This time around i am actually trying to do the same thing as you, slowly cutting carbs, no more extremes for me (hopefully). Yuck!!! Don't remind me! I suppose I could be down 10-15 before summer and shorts. Scale was up today even though I had a good day yesterday. Does anyone else's weight fluctuate a lot? Mine is NEVER the same two days in a row. I don't even know what I really weigh. My scale is digital and works fine for everyone else. ttyl |

Good morning! Sounds like we're all doing great!
Yesterday was Day 3 back on-plan for me. I ended up dining out twice. At lunch, I stuck with a caesar salad with grilled chicken, and for dinner, I chose a ribeye with a side salad and veggies(...and NO adult beverages!!!). Definitely not a low-cal day, but I was on-plan all day! |

I was on plan all day as well yesterday. but i was 133.5 Tuesday i think....then I took a water pill wednesday i went down to 131.5 and this morning 132. So up a half pound but I think it was due to the hot wing sauce. Today, I am having:
Breakfast- 2 scrambled eggs with american cheese. lunch -mixed green salad with onion, tomato, artichoke, black olives, feta cheese and oil and vinegar. And a snack will be 3 hot wings no breading deep fried with NO SAUCE so i wont BLOAT! I better be down that hald pound tomorrow dangit!

Goodmorning everyone.... Talking about yoyo-ing
I got on the scales this morning at 4am and was down to 359.8 went back to bed.... got up at 6:30 I was at 354.4... I couldn't believe it, got on the scales again it said 364.4... moved the scales and got on again it said 374.8.... got a bag of flour out and it weighed 5 lbs..... Darn scales, I have never had a problem out of them.... they are digical and have always weighed right, not bounching around like this morning..... So I am not sure if I lost or not.... I did get a compliment yesterday, Motherinlaw told me she could really tell I am losing weight.... I am really going to have to make myself stick with it today.... the scales have upset me.... Anyway, I can tell I am losing.... I need to measure I guess and see if there anything going on there...... just need to see it, I guess..... Hope everyone has a wonderful day.... and stays on plan... I know I want be able to get into a swimsuit this year, but in the back of my closet is 4 dresses that I have held on too.... they are linen and have a really good feel to them... I use to have such compliment when I wore them.... I am looking forward to getting them out by the first of April to wear during the spring time.... ![]()

I hopped on the scale this morning. Was down some. Although my official weigh in is Mon. I should do Sun. But we'll see. My dh is starting to lose also. Although he isn't exactly doing Atkins. If I ate like him I would be gaining instead of losing..
Last night I was starving. but didn't eat, although my stomach was growling. |

My weight bounces up and down in wide ranges almost daily. I really should throw away my scale, but that is too scary. I'm trying to focus on the rolling average instead of the specific scale number each day. That way, even if I'm up a bit, I can still tell if I'm heading in the right direction. I've always tried to dive right into a strict induction in the past, and would get so shaky and awful feeling that I wouldn't last much more than a day, if that. My current method of slowly cutting my carbs until all the "bad stuff" is eliminated seems to be working. I already feel MUCH less bloated, and am down a pound or two. Now it's a matter of just sticking to this and not getting sidetracked by cravings. Have a great day everyone! We're almost at the weekend! ![]()

Good morning everyone! And
Stacie!!Well, yesterday marked my second day on track (except for devouring that last hot dog frank in the fridge. ). It would have beckoned me all day had I not so I just nipped that in the bud! Bkfst was the last scotch egg with a smidgeon of mayo, L & D was some bbq ribs, brisket, and chicken (minus the sauce). I dip mine in lc/sf ketchup, also mixed with a little sour cream creates a nice dip and I don't even miss the sauce! The bbq wasn't the greatest but I ate enough to cause me to fill up to the point where I couldn't even dream of nibbling before bed. Probably all that sodium does that (ick!). btw, I have decided to stay off the scales for one full week, which will be next Tuesday. I vowed to focus on staying on plan and killing the carb cravings first and foremost and I know if I were to weigh myself now it will only depress me and send me back into a cycle. So I'm not even taking that chance. I haven't mapped out my meals for today, which is not good. That's the one other thing I set my mind to do but it's still hard for me. I change my mind so often and end up being in the mood for something completely different than what I'd planned on. I need to decide on one thing then stick to it. Then maybe the off plan eating won't happen. ![]() Hope all of you have a good day today! Stay strong! ![]() |

Hi everyone:
I think I'll try to stay off the scales too. It's too depressing when it is yoyoing all over the place. I had eggs for breakfast and brought chicken and green beans for my lunch. I don't know what dinner will be yet. I MUST get in some water today! That is my goal. ttyl Sheryl |

Hi Faith. Thanks for the welcome.
I avoided the scale like the plague this morning. I started a meat/egg fast yesterday and don't want to weigh myself until Saturday morning, when I've done it for 3 days. Then, based on Saturdays weight, I'll either do 2 more days of m/e fast, or I'll move back into induction. I need to get that darn scale moving! Here's the exciting menu for today: B: shredded beef, 2 hardboiled eggs & 2 tbls mayo S: 3 slices turkey, 3 pieces bacon & 1 tbls mayo L: chicken breast D: porterhouse steak |

Mmm...eggs!
That is the one thing I've planned on for bkfst. A poster on these boards made mention of scrambed eggs with salsa and sour cream and I have been craving that ever since!Sheryl -- Yeah, I wish I could give up my stupid, beloved scale for much longer than a week but feel for some reason I need it to "stay accountable". What I would really like is to stop obsessing over my weight. ![]() Stacie -- M/E is pretty much what I'm trying to stick with. After I'm fully detoxed and back in ketosis I plan to go a bit leaner but for now I need my fats! ![]() |

I need my fats if I can't have carbs. That's why there are 3 tbls of mayo in the cards for today.I just had quite a yummy breakfast. I had slow cooked a roast on Sunday and shredded it. I had about 1/2 of a cup left, so I warmed it in the microwave, chopped up 2 hardboiled eggs and added them to the beef. Then I added 2 tbls of mayo and it was like a warm beefy egg salad. It was really quite good. ![]() |

Aim -- I was planning on just scrambling them separately and then adding the salsa & sour cream afterwards, to taste. Hadn't thought about mixing them together first then scrambling or doing the omelet thing...but I am curious now!
![]() Stacie -- Roast has always been a favorite of mine! Don't know if you guys have this up in MD but around here I just discovered a pre-pkgd., individually wrapped roast beef you store in the freezer and that makes it so handy when I want some good pot roast but don't want to go thru the trouble of making a whole one in the crockpot. They are fully cooked, low sodium, 1 carb, 7 fats, and 190 cals per each. Last edited by FaithM. : 02-22-2007 at 08:25 AM. |

Yes, we have a section right next to the fresh meats, and there they have frozen, pre-cooked burger patties, chicken patties, roast beef, etc. I was just noticing they are store brand (HEB) and I don't think you guys have one up there, but you just might find them at one of your stores. Good luck!

Hi everyone!
I was down another 1/2 lb this morning - I'm officially back to sig weight of 152. Yea. The most amazing thing to me is how much appetite suppression I have right now. And I'm eating 40 to 50 carbs a day. Just all veggie carbs. Lately I've had a thing for those 'grape' tomatoes - they are like candy to me right now! I have a leftover pork chop and some okra and tomatoes for lunch today, and a Cocoa Cassava bar (mercola product) for after my workout. I LOVE pork chops - hubby grilled them last night and man are they good! Real food just tastes so good when I cut out all the other crap. I weigh every day - it really keeps me honest knowing I will see a number on the scale every morning. All this food talk is making me hungry - darn. |

Finished Induction!!!
I'm down 18lbs. I'll likely continue mostly on the Induction diet and once in a while throw in a few strawberries. I've had a few nuts during this initial phase, so the only new will be the berries. I'll most likely keep the carb grams down in the 5 to 20 range until I'm well close to goal. Now I'll be kicking my exercise regimen back in with weights and cardio . Getting back to low carb eating has been great. My body much prefers protein to anything else. Here's a little ditty.... (forgive me Garth) ![]() Well I've got friend in Low 'Carb' places Where the tips abound and chases my cravings away and I'll be OK because you all have graced us LFC is my Oasis Oh I've got friends in Low 'Carb' places... ![]()
