I got mine at Target. I have not looked at Wal-Mart. Mine were on sale for 4.99 a pack. The only flavor I have had is the Chocolate Royale and it is quite yummy.

I found that when I had TOM (a version of it anyway - I'm on the depo and am pre-menopausal) the water and salt made the scale go up a few notches - but not to worry because the numbers came back to normal within a few days!

Del - Thanks for the advice. I certainly am not going to quit just because of a little setback since I really like this plan. I hate the TOM cravings and every month I seem to cave into them. My hormones seem to win out! I will be glad when this week passes.

Second Week of Shakes Routine

Hi everyone! I am on my second day of my second week of the shakes routine! I still love how easy this is. Today I have to go to work, take one DD to swimming lessons and the other to a friend's house and not having to prepare a bunch of food makes it so much easier. I am still dealing with the PMS and that is never fun but I feel like I am in a better place today.

Here is my plan for the day:
B: Atkins shake
L: Atkins shake
S: Roast beef with Mayo
D: Chicken breast/salad
Exercise: Jog and lift weights

Have a happy!

What is your favorite flavor of shake, and is the best brand atkins?

At Target all they had was chocolate royale and vanilla. I do not like vanilla so I have only had the chocolate royale and it is awesome. I have noticed on other threads that people drink all kinds of different shakes from GNC and I have tried a few different whey protein shakes but I find many of them to be too sweet. The Atkins shakes are creamy and not overly sweet which I like.

I know this falls under the category of too much info but my TOM came today. I am so thankful that I can be done with the cravings and major case of the crabs for 3 weeks! I am celebrating the small stuff

I got the atkins chocolate royale shake, it's really yummy! I also got the vanilla, but I'm not crazy about it. Walmart only had 3 flavors. Maybe I will look online. I've tried the strawberry, but didn't really like it.
I am one pound away from losing 10 so I am really motivated to keep this going and maintain my weight!!

I have been reading this thread. It is interesting. I think I will stock up on shakes this weekend and give this method a try. Should I expect to be really hungry and annoyed the first few days/week? I have been doing LC for almost 16 weeks. I have lost 30 pounds but I want to lose 30 more. I have been "slipping up" too much lately and I need to get back into "weight loss" mode. The shakes idea seems promising, I just don't know if it will be enough to get me through the day.

The shakes are really yummy aren't they? I am glad to have company here because sometimes I feel like I am talking to myself! I made a commitment that I would post to the thread daily even if I posted alone after all I am doing this for myself. I would like to try the caramel shakes that others have mentioned but have no idea where to find them.

I have not been hungry or annoyed while using the shakes. For me it was a relief to not have to try to figure out what I was going to eat and prepare it. Losing 30 pounds in 16 weeks is amazing, you have done a great job. Maybe the shakes will give you the discipline that you are seeking right now. I know that they worked well doing that for me. Keep me posted on how you are doing with it.

I did this for about a week a couple of weeks ago...only I did the breakfast bar, shake for lunch, and then dinner (usually shrimp or a broccoli/beef stir fry thing)...and I found that it gave pretty good results and is pretty easy when you don't want to have to worry about food all of the time (or just convenience) - strawberry was horrible in my opinion but the vanilla and the chocolate are

Thursday!

DJ~Glad to hear that the routine got you results! I have not tried the bars in years but back when I did they tasted like paint.

Today may throw me a curve ball but nothing major. I am taking my kids out to eat this evening. The cool thing is that they really do not like fast food so I should be able to get steak or chicken. I just finished my 3 mile walk in the steamy MO weather. Here is my plan for the day:

B: Atkins Shake
L: Atkins Shake
D: Steak and salad????

Have a good day!

Wow I thought maybe they changed the recipe! Funny what we will consume in the name of weight loss. However, I find the shakes to be quite tasty!

I went to Walmart today and looked for these shakes. They did not have the Atkins ones. They had Slim fast chocolate royal. Are these the same?

No, I can't say they are the same. The carb count, sugars, fiber, etc. most likely are different. Atkins has 1g of carb . . . which the carbs/sugars are a major factor in Atkins plan for weight loss.

I used to drink Slim Fast Shakes many years ago - then when my metabolism slowed down, my doctor told me that one of the reasons Slim Fast was no longer working for me was that it had a high level of carbs - and my body was not breaking down carbs the same. I don't know what the numbers on Slim Fast are now but you can go to atkins.com and check the nutritional information for Atkins Advantage Shakes.

I got mine at Target if you have one in your area. Our local WalMart will special order items if you ask the manager.

167!

Yessssssssssssssss! I reached 167 today and I am dancing in front of the laptop. My TOM has made the scale bounce around a couple of pounds this week but today I seen a loss a gain. It is so odd how I know that it is the TOM making the scale go up but it put me in crisis mode. That scale can really mess with my brain. I have lost 4.5 pounds since I started the shake routine and I am very pleased. I sometimes forget how much difference 4-5 pounds can make in my clothes and on my body. I do not want to forget that again! These pounds have eliminated my muffin top and gotten me back to being a perfect size 10. My fat tends to settle right in my belly and it is not too attractive.

Here is my plan for the day:
B: egg white and whey powder pancakes w/Walden Farms syrup
L: Atkins Shake
S: Atkins Shake
D: Not sure but probably meat/steamed veggies/salad

Have a happy and successful day!

Congrats, Homestretch on the 4.5 loss and size 10 fit!!!

Yes, TOM brings total ups and downs when it comes to the scale - I kept a journal for comparison purposes - when I saw a sign of TOM, bloating, water retention - I already knew that the scale was going to read extra poundage (which is not real) - in a few days or so, I was back to normal. So, I can always look back and see the differences between real weight loss and false weight gain . . . I don't freak out about it and I can work with the weight loss journey better.

Anyway, keep on keeping on!!! I am proud of you . . . WOOO HOOOO

BTW, I just had an Atkins Advantage Shake for breakfast . . . I am soooo hooked on the chocolate!

Hi Del! You're so right about the TOM thing. I wanted to make sure I posted about it here so that next month I could look back and remember that I don't have to freak out. Oh those chocolate shakes are good aren't they? I feel like I am having a treat every time I drink one. They have great flavor and texture plus they don't leave an aftertaste. Thanks for checking in an keeping me motivated!

I bought whey powder and make my own shakes...cheaper and 1 carb per shake (vanilla) I have been replacing 1 shake per day and have lost 13 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks.

Homestretch and Carbfreak, great work!

I had 2 chocolate shakes today then a Thai shrimp curry with Shiritaki noodles for supper tonight. I was rushing around and find them great on days like this.

I used to be able to get some great shakes with only .5 Carbs from our big drug store here but like so many companies they have dropped their low carb range!

Thanks for the encouragement Cindy! I love having something quick and easy to eat also. I have recently tried a few low carb products and I have not found anything that tastes as good as the shakes. I tried some of the Stallone pudding and that I can do without. There are less low carb products on the shelves all of the time. I guess companies jump on the bandwagon when there is a new diet craze but move on to something new when sales slow down. But we all know that low carb is here to stay!

I think the shakes increase my appetite. Has anyone else had this happen? I drink a shake in the morning followed my a large glass of water, and an hour later I am starving? I am so disappointed, I really wanted this to work.
