Hi Ladies!
![]() I am getting ready to leave, although I wanted to drop in. I've been so busy, that I haven't been online. I have to start my fast all over AGAIN! So, Monday is my start for 2 weeks. I can't believe I resist get-togethers, then I end up eating at home. Anyhow, I am heading to my favorite Mex restaurant for lunch if my friend in town is up for it. I better get ready. I'll check back in tonight or tomorrow. |

Happy to see everyone's still doing so well! I stayed the same this morning and that's fine by me--I'll take anything but going UP! Even though today's my off (fasting) day I'm doing partial fast only. It's too difficult with DH home and he would NOT approve of my fasting. I'm thinking of doing M,W,F. Since I'm not eating much of anything even on my "on" days (staying at about 350 cals thereabouts) I don't think it'll make much difference.
Hoops--I totally understand how it is, it's just easier avoiding get-togethers than it is all those temptations in our own house. Good luck on your restart tomorrow, I'll be thinking of ya! You can do it! ![]() |

I am considering doing a water fast but I would like to know what kind of exercise, if any, is recommended. Do you have the energy for exercise when fasting?
Thanks for any help! |

I have been water fasting for 3 days. I have done 30 mins on elliptical 2 of the 3 days. Felt fine both days. Just dont want to overdo it.

My db is very supportive. He even went to the extent of waterfasting w/ me for the 4days so I wouldnt be tempted. He has lose 9lbs so far as well. He has even decided to start lowcarbing w/ me as well. Maybe not as strict as me but its a start and he has agreed not to bring junk food in the house.

As far as how to make it through.... I just try to ask myself what if??? What if I can make it though and follow the committment that I have made to myself? How will I feel if I this one time don't cave and let my mind rule my body! How will I feel when all those cute jeans are no longer in the back of the closet but move front and center. If that doesn't work just go to bed early LOL Makeup ![]() |

Makeup----I love that thought too!
And for me it's become(or becoming I should say) a reality! I have been pretty dedidcated to low carb the past couple of months and had gotten down to the mid/low 140s( I had gotten up to 169 last fall due mostly to undiagnose thyroid disease AND depression overeating). I started this fast at 141 and this am I was 133.5!!! This is NOT all water weight----much of it is pure, ugly fat! I have lost a whole inch off my hips during this week and that is my problem area! I am comfortably in my 6s now and I tried on 2 pair of gap jeans in size 4 and I got them on!!!! Now, it was a workout to do so and I probably shouldn't leave the house in them until I'm a good 5 lbs. thinner but you all see me point. This works!!!!!!!!!! Now, I will say that after fasting those four days I'm going to do STRICT m/e style locarb. I WILL NOT blow my loss! Fasting has shown me that it IS possible to get down to my ultimate goal of the low 120s. I am *considering* doing the eating every other day woe (with my eating days being lowcarb). Anyway, didn't mean to ramble---I'm just so happy and excited I had to share! Day 1 starting weight.....141 Day 2..........................139.5 Day 3..........................137 Day 4..........................136 Day 5..........................133.5!!!!!!!!!!!! Breaking fast today---eating strict locarb! |

Good morning ladies! I'm a newbie to this thread but have been reading and benefiting from it and the LCF board for a some time now. I decided to join because I'm starting a water fast today.
Is anyone else starting one today? Over the past year I've done two 3-day fasts, a 4-day, 6-day and 10-day. This time I'd like to go for 14 but also know that my body usually tells me when it's done and time to eat. (I could have gone longer on the 10-day but I decided to stop at 10 days since it was my first long one.) I eat LC usually so I don't expect a big drop of water weight. I have a question for you ladies. I think this was talked about briefly in the May thread. What is the concensus (sp?) for getting things moving, if you kwim? I've read about the salt flush, but I don't want cramping and a blowout. I want a normal BM so that stuff doesn't sit around for the next two weeks. Or, is it recommended to just leave things be and let nature take it's course even if it means stuff sitting around for 2 weeks? I don't feel uncomfortable or feel I need to go or anything. It's just the thought y'know?Dina, I've found that the first few evenings can be tough. I make myself get away from the kitchen even if it means going to watch tv in bed, or just going to bed early. I tell myself it's temporary. Okay so here we go! I always love seeing your losses listed so I'll do the same. Day 1: 140 Good luck everyone! ![]() |

Dina, you can do it!!!
I wean myself down to water-only. I had 6 oz of black coffee this morning and might have a diet coke or crystal lite later. Gradually I'll get down to water-only. You asked about supportive family? I know mine wouldn't be supportive. I've never told anyone except one close friend when I was fasting. It's easy enough for me to hide it though. Don't know about you.Luke, on the shorter fasts I exercised normally. I don't exercise strenuously anyway - some jogging and weight training a few times a week. On the longer fasts I took it easier towards the end like just walking or nothing at all. |

Hello
Hey all............ well I didnt fast yesterday....... I am so not in the right mindset right now....... I have too much stressful stuff going on right now... I did however fast during the day and then eat dinner....... I am losing that way so I am going to continue to fast during the day and eat a sensible dinner.
Then maybe I can get it together pretty soon.......lol |

Good morning gang~
Well, yesterday I bought a swimsuit at Costco~ you know, no try-on room~ when I put it on at home, I discovered I now have serious incentive. Something about looking like a beached blue whale does that to a person. Anyway, this is day one. Serious. God help me~ how did I not see this until it was encased in blue spandex? ![]() ~~~N |

Hello ladies. I completed my 4 day fast and feel GREAT. I am down 13lbs. I feel AWESOME. Probably just gonna do light salad and protein w/ some diet drinks for a few days and then Going on strict Atkins for 2 weeks.
How is everyone else doing. I am planning to do a 3 day water fast at least once a month. Hope all is well with you ladies. |

Normally I make my green smoothies with fruit and spinach or romaine since they are bland and easy to mask with fruit. I normally go through 2.5 pounds of bagged spinach a week. Well, I decided if I'm going to do the greens I need to mix it up with a variety so this weekend when we went to Costco I picked the 1.5 lb of mixed blend greens instead of the 2.5 lb bag of spinach.
My first smoothie this morning was interesting - a bit peppery from the kale and misc. greens. I didn't really enjoy the first couple of drinks but by the end I was ! *yummy*Last week I did a green smoothie each morning and then H2O for the rest of the day. I ate mostly protein on the weekend and avoided fats and sugar. My abs are peeking through so I'm back to that strategy.

I'm not doing so well ladies. My hubby is in London for a week on business and I'm home alone. I feel like nobody's watching me and I'm eating very badly. Not that he watches me, he's wonderful...it's just my old weird habits. *sigh*
