Listerine strips!

Laura~ Thanks for posting that excerpt from the book~ I think that the biggest mistake water fasters can make is drinking too much water~ all it washes out is electrolytes! That's what causes the problems with weakness or feeling cold~

Takeelah~ Doing great!

Faith~ Hi~ Sounds like you're doing great~ QOD right? I really need to get back on track with that one! It works best for me when I do it with a total water fast on my off (fasting) days!

Shea~ You can do it!

Makeup~ Hi!Glad to see you back!

Lila~ Hi~ Glad you've joined us!

Gavinsmom~ Don't you just hate it when family stresses destroy your efforts with food control? I struggle with that one myself~

Phibi~ Hi! how are you doing?

Have a great day everyone!

Good afternoon ladies! Weighed this morning and I'm down another 2 lbs! So that makes 6 in 2 days Please keep your fingers crossed that this keeps up I SO wanna be out of the 2 "40's". OK today's my "on" day and I started out w/a 0 cal Dr. Pepper...YUM! Going to stick mostly w/water again though.

Takeelah--8 lbs? Fantastic! You're right, it is different for everyone. I cannot lie and say I've not had any momentary energy rushes. Think I was probably so focused on how hungry I was and nothing else!

SlimWithin--Wow @ your 3 lbs loss! Terrific! Good luck on your 2nd day!

Shae--You did great! KUTGW

Hoops--That baseball game sounds like lots of fun but...all those hotdogs and snowcones...Yipes!! You will do great though and will avoid them just fine

Nady--Yep, QOD for me I've been telling myself that it's ONLY every other day so keeping w/just water should really be no big deal. Think I'm just a bit overwhelmed this being my first ever (not counting that 48 hour Hollywood Diet thing I did a couple years ago). When I get more accustomed and not so hungry I know it'll be all downhill from there

I chew gum on my MC. I know it's not allowed but I'm a rebel! LOL

So glad to be back in control. Thank God for my fasting friends. I may be going back to Vegas next week on business. This always seems to throw me way way off.

Stay strong,

What is the QOD. Might I may want to try it once I come off my water fast? Is it 1 day on water fast, next day on lowcarb?

QOD is fasting every other day, eating days I think most try to stick with low cal/low carb. I'm alternating with K/E (Kimmer's Experiment). There's a more informative link on QOD on page 1

Tomorrow is my first day of teaching a yoga class. I'm going to school to become a certified yoga instructor and this will be my first time in front of 'real yoga' students.

I've been a fitness instructor forever but have never led a yoga class.
The style I'm learning is very technical, the instructor observing the class is very tough and I'm very nervous.

What does that have to do with fasting?
Absolutely nothing.

Carry on.

Wow Phibi, a yoga class--that's cool! I totally understand why you're nervous but try not to let that observing instructor intimidate you. Just apply a little of what you already know being a fitness instructor and you'll do fine, I'm sure! I have faith in you...get it? FAITH?

IMO, I see no problems at all with your menu. It's low enough on cals & carbs. Who knows though, you may not even be that hungry come Monday

btw, SlimWithin, it just dawned on me how close we are to one another. My DH works in San Antone We live a couple hours away and he comes home on the weekends.

By the way, I was thinking if I'm not so hungry on Monday, maybe I'll continue fasting but add diet sodas (splenda made only) and green tea. Think I'll still keep losing that way.

Wow, sounds like you made quite a move then! I'm glad you're liking it up there DH is stationed up there (Air Force) so we just moved so we'd be closer in, however if he gets the job he applied for we'll be moving there. Don't know about IN the City limits tho as San Antonio is huge and traffic is a killer (as of course you know!)

So how are you feeling doing straight water? I'm thinking about doing 2-3 days in succession maybe next week more w/diet soda & tea as well. Right now on my fasting days I'm trying to stick mostly to water & occasional CL, it's tough though. I'm not ready for straight water (I'm such a big baby, LOL!)

Faith, Yes, it was QUITE a move! Still getting adjusted but its good so far. Just miss my family and my friends sometimes but its ok.

I dont live in the "heart of S.A." Didnt want to deal w/ all the conjestion all day. I live on what is considered "outside San Antonio city limits" but live in San Antonio. Its a little confusing, still getting use to it. My address' city is San Antonio, but for property tax purposes, they consider it outside San Antonio city limits which is good because I get a tax break. Love my area too, get the country feel but is close to shopping, interstates, etc. Lackland Air Force base is really close to my house (about 5 miles) Lots of military families in my neighborhood.

Day 2 is done and I am 6lbs lighter this morning starting Day 3. I'm feeling good this morning. Did have a little case of insomnia last night. Finally went to be almost midnight, woke up at 2 am, went back to bed, now up again and its 6:50am. So guess I'll go yardsaling.

How is everyone doing?

Slim! Yeah, you made it! I'm also on the morning of my day 3! I'm so very glad that we stuck it out this long. I honestly think the hardest is behind me---I have no desire to eat at all. I am having coffee w/cream and that is VERY satisfying.

I plan on completely today and probably tomorrow. Originally I said I'd go for 3-5 days and I very well may do 5. If it doesn't get any harder, there's no reason not to!

Day 1 (starting weight)...141
Day 2..........................139.5
Day 3..........................137

Hey ladies........... back with ya today........

Day 1...... I would still like to go for 10 days....... we will see gotta take it one day at a time.....

Hoops you are so right about letting family stresses get in the way of eating right. Man I have had nothing but junk to eat the last 3 days......
I am up to 189 today..... omg! That is completely unacceptable.
So I am definitely back on the FAST boat.

I am gonna stay away from the house today..... the neighborhood pool is open today so that is a good way to waste half of the day with the kids
During the day is the easy part it is around or after dinner time that gets me... I agree with going to bed early...... dont know how many times I have done that one myself. It works though.

Check back with you gals later.

OK I'm a little confused about what is "off" day and what is "on", LOL! I think eating is "ON" so if that's the case then today's my 2nd "on" day I'm down another 2 lbs this morning! Wahoo!

SlimWithin--Congrats on completing day 3 and losing 6 lbs! And living outside the city limits, yep that's the way to go! I've been there enough and no WAY could you get me to live inside S.A.!

Shae--You're doing great! And straight water to? Wow, dare I try it?

gavinsmom--Glad you're back! Good luck if you decide to go for the 10 days...sending good vibes your way I'm a stay at home mom too (to 5) so I totally relate to how hard it is to stay on track when you're around the fridge more than you're around other humans Plus, sharing my beloved computer time w/all of them. I mean, this thing is my companion!!

Speaking of...DD is chomping at the bit because it's HER turn So I may not be back on till tonight.

hello ladies. Is anyone around. I have a HORRID headache and wonder if it will pass? I have been fasting on straight distilled and spring water for two days. Today is Day 3. Should I revert to chicken broth or just take an Aleve?

I would take the aleve and see if that helps Slim. If not try the broth. Hope you feel better, you guys are doing so well.

Slim, my day 3 is almost over as well and I'm still alive---imagine that!

Just so everyone knows---I am doing this mainly for weightloss/control so I am not just doing pure water. I have 2-3 cups of coffee with cream in the morning, several diet sodas thru the day, and water in the evening at work (I work pt as a waitress!). I realize that just plain water is healthier/better/wiser, but I also know I could NOT have done this with just water. Just *my* opinion/experience!

Hi girls,

Well end of day two today. I am actually feeling great. I really think that so much of this is mental. I started this MC with the idea that it would be easy and I would not cheat or be hungry. I actually went all day without any drink only a Fruit 2o water. I also told myself that today would be a great work day. It certainly was! This is a great time for spiritual growth and motivational reading.

Phibi, your a rockstar! How long have you been on this fast? It's amazing that you teach classes and fast. Kudos to you!

Slim, yeah the headace is a pain! I was spared much of it yesterday. Went to bed early. Maybe that is crutial. Glad it passed.

Gotta run!

Love,
Makeup

Hello ladies. Just finished up Day 3 of 4 and am down another 2lbs making my total weight loss so far 8lbs. Feeling really good going into Day 4 of 4.

A question...since today is my last day of water fasting, I'm still not clear on what's the best way to come off water fast w/o gaining all the weight back that I've lost. Should I liquid fast for a few days (diet sodas, crystal light, tea, water) then ease back into regular low carb foods?

What is your experience w/ this and how much weight do you normally gain back coming off water fast?

Thanks.

Juicers?

Hi Everyone,

I hope you don't mind me jumping into your thread. I often lurk!

I am not looking to fast at the moment, but I think I am ready to start juicing. I often drink protein shakes that I blend and add in "supergreens" powder from Whole foods. I thought it would be cool to be able to make my own greens to add in.

I thought perhaps some of you would have recommendations on a juicer? I guess since I am not sure I will like it I don't want to invest a ton of money, but at the same time I want it to be functional enough that I am getting a true idea of good quality juicing. I don't have too much counter space in my kitchen so I hope it does not have to be huge.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! deacons

SHAE...GREAT JOB . LETS KEEP IT UP FOR ONE MORE DAY! Think I will wein myself off by drinking crystal light tomorrow and have a small salad w/ chicken for lunch.

CANANDIAN....For me, its 95% mental. I have to talk to myself at night when I think I am hunger. I ask myself "are you really hungry or are you thirsty"? I think drink about 8 oz of water and wait about 20 mins. If the feeling goes away GREAT. If not, then I do other activities to take my mind off it, watch tv, a movie, go to the pool, etc. Then I go to bed early cause I know when I wake up in the morning, I will be at least a lb lighter and no longer hungry. Hope that helps.
