Hey Ladies, I screwed up yesterday (I'll spare you the details) and I can feel myself wanting to screw up today too. What a difference a few days make, huh? Ugh! I think I'm going to fast starting tomorrow all the way down to goal. I want to see that number on the scale, damn it! I think I will force myself to do some errands and get out of the house. I need to get over my food issues
or at the minimum, recognize them and do something about it. Faith, your response to Nady's post is so me too. WTH is that all about Ok, off to doll myself up so I am presentable in public. On an upnote, I did a 45 minute hike this AM and have plans for a 2 mile evening walk (30 min) so I haven't gone completely to hell in a handbasket![]() |

Blew it at the movies~
Oh well, nothing to beat myself up over. Fasting~ Today and tomorrow... 2-dayer The man ~ Okay, due to popular consesus, I am going for the whipped cream on that gorgeous man's body! I am not so sure about the pix though, lcmommy! ![]() Walkingwoman~ That is so awsome you lost another pound coming off your fast! I am so happy for you being at your lowest weight! WOOHOO!!!!! To Hell in a handbasket! It sounds like you just made a few poor choices in food, but you're being active. Enjoy the weekend with no guilt! ![]() Slim~ You are oh so close to the 250's! I just love that, too. It is almost like age. When I hit 30, it was okay. When I hit 31, I was now in my thirties! Makeup~ Day 2... I think you're right, going out and buying the syrup may make you commit. I feel the same when I throw away the perishables before I start a fast. This fast worked well like that since my son was just leaving town to his father's for a month. I wish my tummy was flat. I got into discussion on the boards about tummy tucks, and now I am contemplating one in about 6 months. After having kids, I have a small gross, well, I'll just say yuck. lcmommy~ Dang, are you doing well! Nady is the one to ask about the tongue. It sounds like you are doing so, so well! ![]() Faith~ That 70 pound mark is right around the corner. You can do it! That scale will cooperate with you tomorrow, I just know it! ![]() Samantha~ You have done really well after breaking your fast to still lose weight. I always gain initially, but sometimes I am not too sensible. I wish I had an answer to your question, but I'd have to look it up. SJN & Gavinsmom~ Off to a good start.... ![]()

Hey ladies............ well I am doing ok........ it is around 4 p.m. here......
I had a moment earlier today where I was craving a turkey sandwhich with tomato....... I almost gave in......... That moment passed though and I am doing good. Just trying to keep myself stuffed with water. I am so ready to get this weight off....... I am tierd of losing and gaining the same 5-10lbs. It took me forever to get back down to 188 because of doing that. NOw it seems that I dont let myself get above 188, but pretty darn close. I am definitely gonna have to get down 5 or 10 pounds below my goal weight so that I can maintain....... I know that once I hit goal I will prolly fast 3 days a month or something like that. It is weird that I have been hovering around the same weight for a month now but my clothes are looser. I have a size 12 pair of dress pants that I try on every so often that are too tight. I tried them on a while ago for inspiration and they are still too tight, but not as tight. I dont know how long I will last on this fast, but I am trying for 10 days... I sound like a broken record dont I? By the end of this fast I want those size 12's to be too big Well I am doing good and as of right now have no plans on giving in.... but as we all know that changes moment to moment... Tonight will be the test... gonna stay away from the kitchen as much as possible..... Ta ta........... check back in later.......... ![]()

Well ladies, since TOM has come and gone, its time for me to get REAL serious about losing as much weight as I can. I have 24 days before I go home to visit my family and 29 days before the cruise. So NO MORE EXCUSES.
I am going to fast starting Monday. Dont know how many days, would like to try for 5 and see what happens. But I'll let my body tell me how far to go, but I just need to gain control and keep it. So wish me luck. |

Day 13! One more to go!
Hello all! I'm really sorry I can't reply to everyone tonight. I'll catch up tomorrow. Just want to give an update for today. Day 13 is pretty much done! Wooooot!
Still doing good but I was getting winded doing regular stuff today. I have to climb a flight of stairs slooooowly. I noticed I have a rash on my upper abdomen and over my ribcage. Weird! It's not prickly heat or anything. Not itchy or bothersome. I bet it's a sign of detox. Yay! No loss today. Tomorrow is day 14 and that's what I originally wanted to reach but if I feel good I may go longer. I'll take it one day at a time. If the rash is a sign of detox I'm thinking I should let it continue. I'll see how I feel. I made my chicken broth so if I decide to break my fast on Monday, I'm ready.Day 1: 140 Day 2: 138 (-2) Day 3: 137 (-1) Day 4: 136 (-1) TOM Day 5: 136 ( 0 ) TOM Day 6: 135 (-1) Day 7: 133 (-2) Day 8: 132 (-1) Day 9: 130 (-2) Day 10: 129 (-1) Day 11: 129 (0) Day 12: 128 (-1) Day 13: 128 (0) |

Hi Ya'll...
WOW you kids are doing fandangtastic!!! Gavinsmom, Slim, Faith & Makeup! YOU CAN DO IT!! Good Luck and keep the faith! One day at a time and all that jazz!Hoops! Have a Blast! Can't wait for the juicy details! LOLTracey, Sam, Nady and all . . . yes - that beating ourselves up for an indulgence here and there is a breaker. Suppose if we keep this up we'll learn that even if we have 1/2 slice of a pie, that it won't Break our rhythm, but eating the whole pie will, so just have the special thing once in a while, but get back on track for the rest of the day or tomorrow. I have noticed that if I do "indulge" that if I take in more water before/during and after, that it helps my digestion and to fill me up so I don't go quite so overboard... psychological only maybe? Was down another .5 pound today, but didn't get in much of a workout yesterday, so we'll see what tomorrow brings... It's Father's day and I'm having meat/veggie for dinner, but green smoothie & water for the rest of the day . . . Hope everyone has a nice day and gets rested up for the week ahead! Good Luck and stay Strong!!!

Gavinsmom - I know exactly what you mean... I did ok last week, but today was the first day I ate a full meal (I'm stuffed and it was good!) My plan is to get below goal also so that when I do gain back the 1-3 pounds for digestion, I'd still have some room to play. Otherwise it seems that you'd keep missing the goal.... AND yes - getting a regular scheduled exercise plan in place would be nice also ... that's on my to do list! Ok - time to go for an after dinner walk! We had an hour hike in the woods today - nothing like Peru - but felt good to be outside ![]() Take care everyone! Last edited by mmam5; 06-18-2006 at 06:44 PM.. |

Ok--- confession time!
Throughout the week: I am SO optimistic, eat 100% on plan (fasting or m/e or whatever it is) and lose grand amounts of weight (10 lbs last week for a 3 day fast). Weekend: Absolutely cave. Eat meals out... with family & friends. Overindulge. Feel sick. Continue to overindulge. This is my confession... this weekend I ate too much of things that were too high in carbs-- yogurt, cashews, even veggies, whipped cream and about 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream (but why?!) Back up in weight, granted, not as high as I was last week, but I didn't fast for 3 days to be right back here >:O So frustrated! AHHH so begins another week... how do I break the bad weekend cycle?? |

Samatha,
We fall down but we get up! Most of us have been right were you are. I tend to unfortunately not have much luck eating out. When not fasting it's best for me to cook at home (borning) We are all learning this weight loss maintance path together. One day at a time. MMam, I would love to get a few pounds below goal myself. Seems so far away. Honestly if I fast this entire week I will probably be very close. My issues have never been with losing but with maintance. I know that I need to workout on a regular basis. I'm gonna do some cleaning tonight! That's a workout these days. Today is the close of day three. I drank a liter of that no sugar no carb carbonated water the fruity one. A few weird pains in my arms. I'm sure that was something detoxing. My BF said I had dark circles today. Not good! Usually fasting brings lightness around my eyes. I have these tiny bumps around my eyes that will go away within a few days of fasting. My cold is clearing up also. A bit stuffy but not too bad at all. Hunger today scale of 1 10 is about 2. I had one bout of rumbles after talking about restaurants with a friend LOL. Stay strong, Makeup ![]() |

OK now I'm pissed. For 4 days I practically starve myself (ok I know I'm not going to literally starve
) to lose 2 lbs...for the whole 4 days?! I've stayed at 230 for 3 days in a row. Well I liquid fasted T, F, cals didn't go over 300 on Sat, & liquid fasted yesterday but I'd have EATEN if I'd known it was going to be for nothing! ![]() I know, I know...I'm happy to not see the numbers go UP but right when I'm at the brink of a new decade it's a no-go!! ![]() Sigh. OK rant over. |

My girlfriend here at work is finally breaking her weekend cycle... Her's has more to do with Beer/friends. But still the same thing.. one step at a time. Maybe each weekend, plan on an indulgence... then just taper back a small bit each weekend. You know- don't plan on being good, that way you won't beat yourself up when you are bad. All that talk about Whipped Cream... did you use it "wisely"? ![]() |

Maintenance? Did I hear the word Maintenance? Yes - that is probably my biggest problem also... losing isn't always that hard - well, in the past couple of years it has become much harder... but maintaining a steady weight would be WONDERFUL!
Besides throwing out bigger clothes and forcing ourselves to stay at a weight, hard to maintain a healthy diet and exercise plan ALL YEAR to stay in once place. Can we hire Phibi or someone else to be our personal assistants to crack that whip each day?? |

Still plugging away!
Hello all,
I have been working away, and no time to post. But wanted to drop in and say HI!! I have been plugging away.....only eating meat and veggies..ONLY!! I am SOOO frustrated!! Yesterday's menu: B- Scrambled eggs, bacon, ham & sausage (buffet) S- Nothing L- piece of ham S- nothing D- grilled swordfish and veggies (yellow squash, zucchinni, onion, mushroom) Since the fast I have not had any sugar, flour ect...I have even stayed way from carrots, peas, beans and tomotoes....... So why aren't I down ####'s?!?!?!?!?! I did start TOM today, but come on!!!! Not that it hasn't crossed my mind , with the scale sitting at 232,233,231....why shouldn't I? I'm sorry to vent, I am just soooo sick of this!! I am determined to get below 200!!! I have never successfully dieted myself back down from there, once I crossed the 200 mark, it was no return! But I can't help feeling like I can't do it.....everytime I get close, my body reacts like this..... Ok, done venting for the moment> Thanks for listening....I'll do what ever it takes to break this pattern!!!

Morning everyone~
Just checking in~ don't know what I'm going to do right now~ I guess I hadn't realised how much my body changed over the last few years~ maybe it's age, maybe hormones (or lack of them) but it seems like all of a sudden, nothing is working the way it used to. I suppose that's why I keep falling on my face~ Maybe my body knows all the old tricks and just isn't buying it now. All I know is I can't continue at this weight~ it's the the most I've ever weighed in my life~ my joints can't take it anymore, my energy is lousy, and my emotions are taking a beating~ the menopause merry-go-round isn't helping either! Somehow, I need to 'hear' what my body actually needs and stop listening to the whispers of the bad habits I've developed. I also need to stop looking for my personal answers in a diet book~ so far, all I've managed to do with all the 'good' advice is gain more weight. Believe it or not, at least half of my excess weight is from my efforts to lose on low fat and my attempts to get healthier with vegetarianism! Apparently not my best choices diet wise. Guess I'll stop rambling~ maybe I just needed to write it down to get a perspective~ I'll see how today goes~ maybe just a day fast~ eat a light dinner~ and see how it goes~ Yup~ one day at a time. Thanks for listening~ ~~~N |

Day 15
Good morning! I made it!!!! I reached day 14 like I wanted and will continue one day at a time for little while longer. Feel generally good. My tongue isn't all coated anymore! Rash is gone. The weekend was tough. Wanted to eat soooooo badly but knew what would happen if I did
so I'll break the fast gradually when it's time. ( I can't believe I haven't eaten for 2 weeks! )Day 1: 140 Day 2: 138 (-2) Day 3: 137 (-1) Day 4: 136 (-1) TOM Day 5: 136 ( 0 ) TOM Day 6: 135 (-1) Day 7: 133 (-2) Day 8: 132 (-1) Day 9: 130 (-2) Day 10: 129 (-1) Day 11: 129 (0) Day 12: 128 (-1) Day 13: 128 (0) Day 14: 127 (-1) Day 15: 126 (-1) Kawgirl -- I thought I read in one of the links in the first post of this thread (Being Your Own Doctor?) that during a fast, metabolism slows down and coming off a fast, the body assimilates calories very quickly so weight can easily be put back on if one is not careful. I'll try to find the quote for you. You WILL get below 200! You are determined! Faith -- don't give up!! You can do it! sjn -- WTG on the weightloss! makeup -- great job on 3 days! KUTGW! Samantha -- we've all been there. walkingwoman -- good luck on your fast! Gavinsmom -- good luck on QOD! mmam -- I'd love to be a little below goal to have some leeway too but I'm not sure what my goal is yet! Nady -- ok have a good one everybody!!!! |

Here we go. The quote I talked about in my earlier post. It's under the section Weightloss by fasting.

Good Morning!
Nady - it is a struggle one day at a time. Our bodies really do change with age and it makes it that much harder to figure out what will work and how to keep healthy! Hang in there, you will find what works for you. I can relate to trying to find the answers. See how you feel in a day or two fasting during the day and eating a light dinner. LC mommy - Way to go! I bet you feel great! Great inspiration for when I start again!! Faith and Kawgirl - Hang in there. It didn't come on overnight and sometimes even with LC it takes a bit for your body to adjust. Watch for salt and sugar additives in any foods as well. TOM will definitely stall you for a few days, it does that to me alot also! SJN02 - Congrats on a great start!!! mmam5 - you are almost to goal - you can do it! Sam- for me if I dont' get myself organized for the weekend, its a wash for the week - sad but true. It will take me 3 days to get off what I regained on the weekends. I think I'm getting better as I tend to try and look at the weekends as any other day - its not a time to just go "hog" wild as I tell myself! That doesn't always work, but 3 out of 4 weekends isn't bad! I worked all weekend - it was very busy so I did get in alot of exercise! After work on Saturday I rode bike and went and did the bleacher stairs at the high school. Yesterday was extremely busy at work, I was just sweating! LOL After work we all went for drinks and then went to dinner with one of the girls dad and mom. It was nice. I had a salad and part of my steak so was pretty good this weekend outside of the few cocktails yesterday - that of course set me back a few lbs. My neighbor got me into fruit on Saturday so I picked up some oranges, apples, grapes, melon and bananas. I'm going to do that for a few days and then head into a fast. The fruit is so good right now - I hate to pass it up! Have a great Monday all!!

I have been under 1100 calories, under 20 carbs, under 60 grams fat (until yesterday and the bacon, 73)....in addition, my portions are proper size.....so I think I have been doing pretty good in the eating department. As you can see, I'm doing Aktins/Kimkins also.......so I still don't see where I'm going wrong...........I excersize at least 3 times a week........... |

Hey ladies down another .8 today... putting me at 184.4... Yesterday I ate m/e ... I had 1 scrambled egg with 0 carb kielbasa, lunch more kielbasa, dinner 2 porkchops with a little ranch, and 1 small dill pickle.
Today I am fasting... I wasnt very hungry yesterday which suprised me... hopefully that will be the case today.. I dont think so though I am already hungry.. So if I keep this up and lose almost a pound or so on my eat days then 2 or 3 on my fast days......... boy that will rack up My one year lc anniversary is right around the corner... It is august 18.. my birthday.. I have wasted a good majority of this year, cheating and gaining and losing and cheating and gaining and losing.... I got to get down to buisness... To meet my goal of 140... I have to lose 5.16lbs a week... that would be tought just low carbing but with fasting as well I should be able to do it... just gotta stay focused... Man I wish I could fast all the way to goal.......yeah right... I know me.. ANyway...... every one who is aggrivated keep it up..... and it will pay off( telling myself the same thing) Check back in later......... |
