Thanks for all the care and prayers. It's going to be a long haul as DH goes through the chemotherapy, but we know this is treatable and curable. We'll get through to the other side. love you guys!

Had DH take my "before" pictures this morning. Now I'm sorry I didn't do it earlier! Just since last week I can't get over the inches change. I kept remeasuring and looking at the numbers because I couldn't believe it! I kept thinking I was doing the inhale thing and sucking it in so I'd relax and look again.

Bust -1.5
Waist - 1
Hips -1.5
Thighs - 1

How cool is this? If keep having these kinds of results I will get brave enough to post photo results with you guys next time around.

Abby my thoughts and prayers are with you. I remember when my DH was diagnosed with leukemia...that was a very scary time. But like your DH it was curable. He had it come back once ... but he just got had a checkup and his blood counts were better than they have been in a long time.

Prayers and a positive attitude is the key.

I have my christmas party tonight for my office wich is just my boss and another guy...three of us with spouses. But last night I spent the whole night sick in bed and now today I am feeling a bit better but still have a very sore throat and my body is achey. I guess I will try not to do too much around the house so I can go tonight. Although after being sick and hubby and kids running house..it's quite the shambles around here.

Have a great Saturday!

You all are so great! DH and I absolutely believe in the power of prayer and knowing you are holding us up in your hearts is giving us strength! Thank you!

Amy - I'm encouraged by your words about your DH's experience with luekemia. It helps to hear how others are on the other side of the treatment. We've been reading as much as we can get our hands on since we found out and the wonderful news is how well people can fully recover. The advances in treatment are an absolute blessing. Thanks for sharing.

I'm so excited!!! I've been gauging my CLA/GLA progress by how my clothes fit rather than actually taking measurements and I've been marking my progress with how my jeans fit, consistently buying the next size down in the exact same brand of jeans (since they all fit so differently!)

Today, I was able to fit comfortably into a misses' 11/12!! When I started this combo back in the beginning of November, I was wearing a women's 16! And all this with only being down 5 lbs total on the scale & no exercise...and while I'm not proud of the no exercise part, it just goes to show how amazing this stuff works!!!

And for those who want to know how much I take: I do take more CLA/GLA than most do....taking a whole TB of the liquid CLA rather than 1/2 TB (7000 mg) and I take 4 of the NOW Borage Oil gelcaps (960 mg of GLA).

THANKS SO MUCH Paige, Michelle, Tom & Trisha for telling us all about this amazing combo!!!

Abby, sending hugs and prayers your way!

Wow.... I can't believe that I can still be amazed by the progress of you all. Amy... that is terrific!!! I want to see some pics!!!!

Went shopping today and I didn't buy my own gifts because I found out that a friend of mine talked hubby into giving her some money to pick me out some clothes... she manages a clothing store. I am surprised because this will be the first Christmas that he's ever gotten me anything. Although, I wish he had put some thought into it and got my present himself... but it is a step in the right direction... I guess.

I am FINALLY finished with shopping (I think). That alone is reason to celebrate.

Tom & Trish - does the Phase 2 that you take say "Starch Blocker" on the bottle with "Phase 2" logo? If so, I ran across a deal.... I found them on clearance for $1.00 per bottle... I got 2 bottles because they expire in June and I didn't want to get too many. It will be nice to have this in an emergency. Like when I eat a Subway LC wrap... I always tend to go up a pound or 2 even though it is SUPPOSED to be LC!!!

Gail & Trisha...update on the Fruit Flush

Ladies, I didn't make it through it...

The first day was great! Protein day, my body LOVED it!

The second day...I had my fruit & water as planned...and I kept getting horrific headaches & had a few dizzy spells. My blood sugar just couldn't handle having the fruit without protein paired with it to stabilize things.

So, I gave it up, figuring it wasn't worth it.

Interesting thing I found out though...I have always LOVED fruit with a great passion, ever since I was a kid. And I was so excited to try this plan because I have missed it SOOOO much. But you know what? It didn't really do anything for me it all. There I was eating all of my favorite fruits and all I could think about was how much I wanted some meat and cheese!!! I really surprised myself with this realization!!

Guess what santa brought me???

I drove in right behind trish tonight, got out of my car and she flung open her coat in a pseudo flash mode....just to be hiding the truck bed.

She got me a wonderful treadmill, interactive, huge tread, I am so amazed I love walking and in the winter its to hard to do it.

I'm a very lucky man

Michelle, this is what we got from netrition http://www.netrition.com/now_phase2_page.html
Where did you get yours? I am glad your dh is getting you something for Christmas. Your right, its a start in the right direction.

Tom had to get his Christmas Gift from me early tonight. I couldnt keep it in the truck bouncing around and I couldnt hide it in the closet lol so here is what he got
It has IFit on it too, pretty cool. He loves walking so much and its been way too cold, so now he can walk all he wants. Its even got a virtual trail CD to look like your walking it that your can order.

Abby, still 'ing for you and dh

Amy, I asked for a new digital cam too. I have a feeling I will get it.
Thanks for the info on the fruit flush. I am like you, I love fruit, but it isnt worth all that lol

Nice present for Tom Trish!! I have a proform treadmill that is about 9 years old. It still works great though but doesn't have the bells and whistles like Ifit. I use it 3x week for an hour usually and it is still going strong. I can't tell by the pic if yours folds. Mine folds up and it takes up little space which I love too. I am getting an elliptical for my present. Can't wait for it to come!!

Amy - sorry to hear the fruit flush didn't go so well. Have you heard how your friend did with it?

Michelle - at least your DH knew to go to someone who could select the right items for you.

Hey, all! Very nice gift!!

For those of you use carb blockers, how often do you take them? I am wondering if it's safe to take them once a day. I eat a low carb breakfast and lunch and then eat what I want for dinner (just stop eating when I am full.) However, I wonder if it's safe to take these once a day with my higher carb dinner.

CLA/GLA measuring day is tomorrow for me...I will report back with results then.

Have a good day, all!!

Rachel

Rachel... I haven't taken mine yet... but I would think that it would be ok. The only thing is that the carb blockers do NOT block sugar... only starch like pasta, bread, rice etc.

Alismom... I wanted an elliptical... told him that at LEAST 20 times... he's just too lazy to go get it. Even a gift card would have been nice. It just bothers me that he didn't think enough to do something personal for me.

Michelle, for some reason I thought you had an elliptical already. Well don't feel bad, I buy my own gifts. My hubby doesn't even pick them out any more. But at least this way, I get what I want. I ordered it and it's being delivered so he doesn't even have to do that. LOL. We don't have a truck or anything so it would be impossible to pick up anyway. Some men just don't feel they have the knack to pick out gifts we like. Sometimes I think it would be nice if he did pick things out but at least this way I DO get what I really want. Maybe you could just ask him for what you really want. At least he tries.

Alismom, This one folds up too out of the way. I have been playing with it trying to figure out the programs lol. I think it is going to work out great. I tried the elliptical at the mall, it was kinda fun too.

Rachel, we just take the carb blockers when we cheat. I dont they would hurt anything taking them with your meal every day. Here is what Netrition says about Phase 2...

Nutrition Facts
Serving Size: 2 Vcaps
Servings Per Container: 30
Phase 2 Starch Neutralizer (Extract of Phaseolus vulgaris) (Beans) 1.0 g
Recommended Use: As a dietary supplement, take 1 or 2 Vcaps before any meal containing complex carbohydrates or starches
Warning: Not to be used by diabetics, hypoglycemics or pregnant/lactating women unless recommended by health care practitioner.

Phase-2 Starch Neutralizer
PHASE 2ฎ is an all-natural bean extract that inhibits alpha-amylase activity, thereby preventing the breakdown of dietary starches into glucose, allowing carbohydrate from starch to pass through the system unchanged.
Alpha-amylase is a digestive enzyme that breaks down starch into smaller carbohydrate units that can subsequently be broken down into the simple sugar, glucose. Glucose is absorbed directly into the bloodstream following its uptake by intestinal cells, resulting in a relatively rapid rise in serum glucose levels. Glucose is used by all cells of the body to fuel metabolism. Excess glucose, however, can be converted into fat and stored in adipose tissue.*

What is Phase 2™ Starch Neutralizer?
Phase 2™ is an amazing, non-stimulant, all-natural nutritional ingredient that is derived from the white kidney bean. It is the first nutritional ingredient that has been clinically & scientifically proven to neutralize starch, found in your favorite foods such as potatoes, breads, pasta. rice, corn and crackers.

Phase 2™ is a safe yet powerful nutritional ingredient, clinically studied to reduce the absorption of starch calories. Phase 2™ allows you to enjoy those foods that you love without all the calories.

How does Phase 2™ work?
During the digestive process, your body converts carbohydrates, found in starchy foods such as potatoes and pasta, into sugar. Your body does this by breaking-down the carbohydrate molecule with alpha amylase, an enzyme that is produced in the pancreas.
These sugar calories are either burned off, through exercise, or stored as fat cells for future use. Unfortunately, inactivity means that these stored fat cells accumulate. The result is weight gain.

When should I take Phase 2™?
Recent research has shown the most optimum time to take Phase 2™ is just before a starch-rich meal along with 8 oz of water. However, the studies also showed that Phase 2™ could still provide some of its starch "neutralizing" benefits when taken during, or just after, a starch-rich meal. One such study demonstrated that Phase 2™ could remain effective when a capsule is opened and sprinkled onto food.

Now thats weird. I just checked my bottle. It
