Hello to everyone on this thread. What a wonderful supportive group
you have here! I got my supplements today and will start tomorrow -
after I measure of course!

It's the week after TOM when I tend to lose best so I'm
the scale doesn't freeze up right away. If it does and inches come
off than no big deal I guess.

Heather - amazing results already!

I'll be sure to post any results.

Hi guys,

I was trying to do a quick reply earlier and typed a long paragraph before I got logged offline. I'm temporarily back on Dial-up and it's amazingly slow compared to my usual dsl.

Anywho.. CONGRATS HEATHER!! I'm so happy for your loss, more so, for the awesome day of being able to wear those jeans! Girl, I know what you musta been feeling like today!

Happy anniversary Tom and Trish! My gosh you guys are such a cute couple!

So after Heather posted her success, I decided to break out my measuring tape too. I started CLA/GLA this Thursday, this is my fourth day. Anywho, I wasn't sure if I did lose 1/2 an inch on my waist or not. I think that's what frustrates me about measuring myself, I'm never that certain about how tightly I held the measuring tape the time before compared to how tightly I'm measuring it now.

Does anyone know what I mean?

Luckly
I felt the same way today. I couldn't believe I lost the inches I did. That's why I had to prove it to myself with those jeans. Otherwise I felt too that perhaps I didn't hold the tape tight enough, or too tight.

Don't doubt it. Keep it up! It's WORKING!!!

Hi guys. Well I've gone out and purchased a CLA/GLA mix, it is XLA from Walmart. Has anybody used this and what have your results been. It is made with R+ALA, CLA and GLA. Thanks

Ok this is a call out to all the gla experts! I have found the gels that are 1000mg, but if you look on the back they say it contains only 240mg of actual GLA. Is this okay and what everyone else is taking or am I missing something?

Do you all take the pills along with your other meds? I have been but wasn't sure if it would decrease the potency of anything?

I have had nausea after taking it but it goes away after a little bit. I take it in the morning with breakfast and at night with dinner, sound right?

I am down a lb but since I just started this yesterday I can't credit it to the cla/gla but i am psyched just the same, woo hoo!

Have a great day everyone!

Evening Primrose Oil and Borage Oil both contain GLA, but evening primrose oil is about 7% to 10% GLA while Borage oil is about 20% to 26% GLA. I assume your 240mg out of 1000mg means you're using borage oil.

However, there is more research on Evening Primrose Oil in regards to GLA than there is with Borage Oil.

Where is Shul? She musta slept the weekend away! hahaha

Well, down 1/2 pound from yesterday (YAY). Not bad. At least I know I can at least lose while taking CLA/GLA.

Still getting the burpees. Maybe I'm just swallowing air when I take that big ol horse pill of cla. Good grief that thing is huge!
Other than that-feelin pretty gosh darn good!!!
How is everyone else?????

I haven't actually bought the oil yet, I wanted to make sure I was getting the best one. I just saw people saying that they were taking 1000mg of borage or EPO and i was confused. So I will take your advice and go with the borage oil. it was the highest MG's of actual GLA. Thanks!

My sister takes the combo along with her blood pressure meds and her doctor is aware of it, however, I would ask the pharmacist just in case.

Ohhhhhh Shuuuuuulllllllll whereyaat???????

I feel great today. Hubby said that "those horse pills" are hard to swallow for him too. I think I am going to order the liquid cla from netrition next time. I hope everyone's "side effects" go away after the first week like mine did. It would be a shame to have to quit taking something that works this well.

WTG on the 1/2 pound Heather. Maybe this doesn't stall everyone in the beginning like it did me. I hope that's the case.

My fingers are freezing and I have to keep going back and fixing my typos. grrrrr I have been so cold lately !!!

It appears to have less than 15 grams of CLA in the entire bottle, which would only be enough for about 4 days in order to get 3500mg per day, so it is a very poor value to get the CLA compared to other products.

Well that's 1/2 pound down from the pound I gained yesterday! hahaha. No biggee. I know fluctuations happen. It could be the pills, or could have been just normal moon gravity! <giggle snort>.

I'm cold all the time too. I hate winter. It's been cold and rainy for the past 5 days so far..and I've had enough. I think we have two more days of this icky weather before it just stays cold. I'm sitting here with a flannel blanket on me, a kitty and a warm cup of tea in between typings. My fingers are so cold, my rings keep slipping off while I type!

I can not find this Evening Primrose everybody is talking about at Walmart...what other supplement has the proper amounts in it...thanks...so Tom I should be taking 10 of these daily? The bottle states not to go over 6...

I had to really look for the Evening Primrose. I found mine at Meijer, in another section away from the usual A,B,C vitamins. They were almost out too-so I think there must be others in this town learning about this. If you can't find it at Walmart-do you have a Walgreens or CVS? Try there as well.
My brand is called Sundown

Just my opinion, but I use the liquid cla from Netrition. You get a full days dose in one shot and don't have to choke down all those big pills. Shipping is very cheap and super fast and I think it is the better value. We are about to place another big order with them. I got a free t-shirt with my order too Yea !!!!
Its freezing here too Michelle, only 36 right now Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Toothpick - I have been taking the borage oil for the GLA. It has a higher concentration.

I also take the Tonalin CLA.
