Do you think my weight loss may stall even though I am only about to finish my 3rd week? I have had a stall of sorts with TOM and post Induction pause I suppose, but I'm encouraged by the loss of inches I see with you guys!. I'm sure the weight will come off, but I kinda want to know what to set my mental state to. I don't want the whole "I'm not losing, whine, whine, whine!"

Yessssssssssss !!! I got on the scale this morning and it was 175 !!! Thats a 3 pound whoosh !!! I am soooo happy. Doin my happy dance
It is so wonderful to see so many new faces here. I wish you all alot of success ![]() CHRISTIE, Thanks, it sure is more fun to go to the casino when you win. Thats wonderful that your hubby is taking it too. From what I have seen so far, it takes 2-3 weeks for people to really start seeing the difference in the way their clothes fit. Which isnt long at all compared to what the research says that it takes 8-12 weeks to see an improvement. Phil, wow the changes in your avi is amazing. WTG !!! Dont be afraid of the scale stall, it will catch up and the inches lost will be well worth the wait. Glad your wife is taking it too. As for taking it after reaching goal....Tom and I feel so good on it and its a natural everyday suppliment, we will continue taking it for life. Your body needs it and it cannot hurt you. Amy, woohoo congrats on your whoosh !!! Doesnt it feel wonderful? Cheryl, welcome , you will find lots of useful info here. Glad your joing us ![]() Elyse, hang in there, it will work. I know we all get impatient for results, but remember, we didnt get this way overnight and its not gonna go away over night lol. What have we got to lose but weight and inches? And its actually better to lose it slowly V , I would start with just 2 of your Borage a day, and up it to 4 later if your not getting the desired results. No use taking more than you need and wasting money. Everyone is different on the scale stall issue. Just dont get discouraged if it happens, it will catch up and the inches will still keep melting off Caly, Michelle and anyone else I missed good morning to you too ![]()

Thanks Trish for the reality check. No it did not happen over night. It happed b/c for the last 15 years I ate more fried food, pasta and bread then most people twice my size w/ no regard. It was simply too "hard" to not eat the appetizer sampler w/ drinks . . then a large meal . . then brownies. Why think about your food - just flip open the menu and order the best "looking " thing possible (and a lot of it I might add). I am finishing up a three day water fast and I am getting a little nutty now - so bear w/ me.
I did write a little poem for your reading pleasure . . Ready? "Tum Tum go away, little Leesee (my nicksame) can't come out to play. . " Ok, back to you sane people now!

hey everyone, ok i got really impatient, and couldnt wait the 3 to 4 days for my cla to arrive ..so i went to walmart and got the pills until i get my liquid in the mail. i also got the borage oil because i didnt order it offline, and i ALSO go some flax oil. (i was told that would help out the combo is that correct?) ok so here is my question. how much do i take. the CLA is tonalin cla by rexall and says its got 1000 mg and the nutrition panel says its 74-82% cla. with a serving size of 2 softgels. the borage oil says its 500 mg per one softgel and doesnt mention the gla. the flax oil that i got is a liquid and it says 1 teaspoon is a serving size and it is 4,650 mg of flax oil. and it also says to take it 2 times a day.. (thought that sounded like a lot) anyway, please tell me how much to take. is it 5 of the cla and 5 of the borage, or what?? i cant wait to get started. !!

Borage Oil
Okay, so now I have a question about the Borage Oil. I have the Spring Valley kind (bought it at Walmart). On the label, it reads:
Serving Size: 1 softgel Amount per serving: Vitamin E 15IU 50% (Daily Value) Borage Oil 500 mg Now, do I understand this correctly? The 500 mg is Borage Oil, but Borage Oil is not 100% GLA. So I can figure that they have about 240 mg GLA and need to take 4 to get close to 1000 mg? How is this different from the Borage Oil sold on Netrition? How many of those do you need to take to get to 1000? And what is the brand name? Edited to add: I just saw Rebeka's post, and it looks like my question is the same as hers. Also, I don't remember reading about the flax oil - what does that do? Thanks! Anna

Flax Fat Facts
An unlikely hero in the battle of the bulge is in fact classified as a fat. Flaxseed oil is quickly gaining acclaim as a sensible approach along with a fiber-rich, whole foods diet to weight loss and vibrant optimal health. Two of the nations top nutritionists are particularly outspoken proponents of the value of flaxseed oil. One espouses flaxseed oil as an "essential element of a healthy diet," the other, "any dietary or weight loss program undertaken without the addition of the essential nutrients in flaxseed oil is destined to
fail." Flaxseed Oil - The Non-Fat Fat What about the fat phobic in the crowd? After all, flaxseed oil is a form of fat. While technically classified as a fat, flaxseed oil is actually an anti-fat. In fact, it is the exact antitheses to the much maligned saturated fat. While saturated fat contributes to obesity, cardiovascular disease, stroke and other degenerative diseases, flaxseed oil prevents and may even reverse these afflictions. For all intents and purposes we can think of flaxseed oil as the non-fat fat. Instead of trying to fool the body such as with caloric restriction or no-fat, low-fat foods, flaxseed works with the metabolic and physiologic processes of the body resulting in natural weight loss and maintenance. The fatty acids in flaxseed oil have been identified as essential nutrients. This is to say that the body cannot convert other food sources into the essential fatty acids in flaxseed oil. As a result, your body actually craves and looks for these essential nutrients in the foods you eat. If they are not there, your body detects a nutritional deficiency and you continue to crave fatty foods and sweets. Currently, we are getting less than 0.1% of the primary fatty acid in flaxseed oil in our diet. Adding flaxseed oil to foods, or taken with a meal, creates a feeling of satiation (feeling of fullness and satisfaction following a meal). The essential fats in flaxseed oil cause the stomach to retain food for a longer period of time as compared to no-fat or low-fat foods. The addition of flax oil to food also results in a gradual release of this combination into the small intestine. The physiological effect is a slow, sustained rise in blood sugar, then a prolonged plateau of blood sugar. Ultimately, the blood sugar undergoes a slow and gradual drop. You will experience a corresponding feeling of prolonged energy, stamina and satisfaction with no immediate hunger pangs following the meal. The net result is that you feel fuller, longer, and actually eat fewer calories in the long run than if you would have chosen a no-fat, low-fat diet. Furthermore, flaxseed oil is converted to compounds that stoke the metabolic processes in our cells. Much like a furnace, once stoked, the cells generate more heat and burn more fuel, in this case, calories. The essential nutrients in flaxseed oil also increase oxygen consumption at the cellular level resulting in increased energy and stamina, and feeling of well-being. General Recommendations The American population has been found to be deficient in a key essential nutrient critical to ideal health and optimal weight. The most common food source of these essential nutrients is fresh flaxseed oil. Most Americans would benefit from consuming 1-2 tablespoons a day of flaxseed oil. The ideal method of taking flaxseed oil for purposes of weight loss or maintenance is in divided doses taken with each meal. Consumers should only consider Fresh ExPressedTM flaxseed oil products with expiration date codes no longer than 4-months, to ensure product freshness and nutritional potency. What a better way than to conclude with a direct quote from a leading nutritionist, "The right kind and the right amount of fat will allow you to lose weight effortlessly and painlessly without becoming preoccupied with dieting... essential fat is the healthiest and easiest way to attain and maintain your normal weight." Hey everyone
I've been keeping up with this thread and I started my combo today. I was trying to hold off until I lost a little more weight b/c I didn't want to see a stall on the scale, but I'm aggravated with it already so I figured I should start anyway I bought my pills from walmart but I'm about to place an order w/ Netrition b/c I can't stand taking all these pills! I took my measurements this morning and will take pictures tonight, although I won't be posting those for a longggg time I also started exercising at curves Friday and I really like it so far. A lot of people diss curves, but hey it gets my heart rate up and I sweat a good bit! I'm so out of shape right now that any kind of exercise will help. I think it's good for beginners, to help get you in some kind of routine. So I'll be working out there for 3 months and I'm going to start using our bowflex this week (if I can figure it out). I noticed some of you got whooshes recently (trish, caly, michelle, im2cute - sorry if I'm leaving someone out). Congrats to all! ![]()

court613,
, Glad your joining us. I joined Curves too last August and I love it. Your right, it is very good for beginners to get back into exercising and the support there is great. You will only get out of it what you put into it. I've slacked off since the holidays but I am going to get back to it. Netrition is out of the Borage Oil caps till Jan 23. We just put our order in last night. I dont know anything about bowflex but I have read alot of good reviews for it. Good luck ![]() |
