I started the combo on 12/2 or 12/5 (can't remember!). Didn't lose any inches, but was eating trash food and drinking tons of beer due to family issues.

Started induction on 1/9. Ate perfectly until 1/13 and 1/14.
1/13 was my brother's funeral. Went to dinner and had steak, salad, baked potato and 2 big rolls. And 8 beers.
1/14 went to dinner and had crab stuffed shrimp, baked potato and salad and 1 bite of key lime pie. And 8 beers.

Woke up today and have lost 3 pounds since last Monday. I probably would have lost a lot more if not for those 2 nights.

My fave meal is browned hamburger, can of Rotel tomatoes with green chilis, any low carb veggie, salt, pepper, sour cream and cheese. So good!! I think I'm going to brown up about 10 pounds of meat and put it in serving size bags in my foodsaver (Merry Christmas to me!) so I will always have a fast, hot meal in minutes.

Val

Last time I did Atkins for 10 weeks and then moved to Body for Life and lost a total of 85lbs but its all come back

So what do you guys think about a man taking CLA on Atkins? I know it will help a lot when I move over to BfL but will it help an Atkins dieter before I move over to regular exercise and should I look at using GLA at the same time.

Also I am UK based so our range of supps aren't as good as yours, I can't get CLA liquid for example just EAS 80+ and Tonalin.

Sorry for all the questions

Hey there,

like Michelle already said, be prepared to see a scale stall for a while, but the inches will definitely come off!

As for men taking it, skim through and look for Tom912 posts...he's our champion male CLA/GLA user

And as for getting CLA in liquid form, can you not get orders from this Netrition website?...they sell it, as well as the Borage Oil (GLA source).

Good luck to ya!

Hmmmm hadn't thought of that, I have imported supps in the past but the EU is cracking down on the market quite heavily here, for $10 for air mail 1-2 weeks I might give it a crack, how many days dosage do you get from one bottle?

Cheers

You get 30 days from one bottle. It is great cause you just have to get 1/2 tablespoon down and you are done with your CLA for the day instead of having to take all those pills.

General dosage of liquid CLA is 1/2 TB, so one bottle will last a month.

General dosage of NOW Borage Oil is 2 caps a day, so one bottle will last 2 months. Although, some have found greater success with 4 caps of Borage Oil a day, which of course means, that one bottle will only last 1 month.

Also, if you do get the liquid, don't forget to SHAKE IT every time before taking...if you don't, the concentrate stays at the bottom and when you get down to that part of the bottle......

not that I'm having to speak from personal experience or anything...

for those of you who remember my poll question...

I've decided to forgo taking a break from the combo and just keep plugging through and let the scale go down in its own time.

I put my 11's back on this morning and remembered how many inches I've lost despite the scale stall and it was quite motivating!!

Plus, I thought about the logic of what Michelle said about how if you take a break, yes, the scale might go down some but then when you go to take the combo again, you'll go through the same "waiting" process all over again as your body readjusts (good point Michelle!) plus for me, I had some acne when I first started (not a lot, but enough to annoy me)...and I don't want to go through that again

so, I'm good to go, stickin' with my beloved combo...hey, that rhymes! (what can I say, I've had only 3 hours of sleep...)

My scale still yo-yo's so I am back on the combo...but I think I will run out of borage oil before I can get to a store.

My scale has been stalled for over year...what's a month more and hopefully inches off.

to the thread. I can assure you that the cla/gla works wonders with men too. It never caused me to stall as it has with others and I lost an average of 3lbs a week. But I really lost a lot of inches and tighted up. My origional goal was 185 but when I hit 195 it looked really good on me and I claimed my goal. I'm maintaining and still taking the combo, working out on the treadmill and abs and free weights to tone up this old body.... it good to have you here!!

BTW I take the liquid cla 3400 mg and 500mg of gla in the form of 2 1000mg borage oil capsules a day.

Another later joiner here! I played around with the combo in November, but didn't stick with it. After seeing these amazing results pics....I am in! I started taking 4000 mg Tonalin CLA and 1000 mg Evening Primrose. I'll replace the EPR with Borage when my order comes in.

I took "before" pics yesterday and, hopefully, will get to point that posting before and after will show a significant improvement.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi guys, I posted a few months back (around the 1000's ). I took the combo for a week, but stopped because it stalled me on the scale and the measuring tape! Now that I'm exercising 4+ times a week and only 10lbs from goal, I've decided to start taking it again. I'm kind of turtling right now anway (TOM is on the way, and as I said... I'm close to goal). I'm really hoping to see some good results this time, since I'm working out!
