Big Yapper!!!!
|
I'm about to have a brawl with comcast over my internet service. This is the first time I've been able to get a connection all weekend. I have a progress picture but with this connection I'm not going to try to post until later. I will say I'm amazed at the progress in the past month.

mork, welcome to the combo family, look on the back for the "actual" cla content. its ok to go over the 3400mg, just dont go below it. Looks like you will need 5 of yours a day to get the required dosage
Abby, sorry your having a hard time with your internet. I have cable and we have problems too when they upgrade. Cant wait to see your new pics Last edited by kycowgirl : 01-15-2006 at 01:54 PM. |

I'll post the cla dosage chart again. According to this, the best dosage is 3400mg a day. anything over it loses effectiveness
![]() ...A study published in the Journal Of Nutrition found that CLA reduces fat and preserves muscle tissue-- even stubborn hard-to-lose fat around the middle! Normally, when you eat a fatty food, that fat directly enters your body's fat cells for storage. But CLA emulsifies the fat into soluble molecules, then switches the fat's direction from your body's fat cells into your muscle tissue. There it is metabolized to produce energy. Without CLA, your body stores the fat you eat-- and even creates new fat cells to accommodate the extra load." CLA speeds up your metabolism so you lose weight and build lean muscle without trying. Although exercise is not required to lose the weight with CLA, regular exercise is certainly encouraged for better muscle tone and cardiovascular healthFor the athletically inclined, Tonalin® CLA is of great assistance because it helps to pack on lean muscle, reduces body fat, and provides tremendous support for your immune system. Remember that all good things come with time. So, please don't judge whether Tonalin® CLA is working by looking at your bathroom scale -- at least not at first. Your body will be metabolizing fat better and building more muscle, and as you know, muscle is heavier than fat. If you're taking advantage of the great outdoors and getting some exercise (even just walking), you'll see the difference in increased energy. If you're not the active type, you'll see the difference in increased muscle tone and lower fat levelsFor anyone looking for a healthy way to help decrease body fat while improving your immune system, Tonalin® CLA may be the answer!

I can only go from my own experience. I lost 6 pounds and 12 inches the first 10 days. I would say go for it. Although I am at a stall right now, its my own fault for cheating over the holidays, and I contribute the fact that I did not gain any back to the combo, and Phase 2. Remember Phase 2 is not to be used for a crutch, just an occasional cheat meal.

I am exhausted and I hurt all over!!! Sorry to make this short, but I have to get supper cooked, then I'm turning in early again tonight. Mork, read the back of your bottle... if you got it from Walmart it probably says 74-82% CLA so that's 740 - 820mg per pill. |

Mork, for some of us the CLA alone didn't work as fast or as well as it did after adding the Borage oil (for GLA). Are you sure the 1000mg is PURE CLA? read it very well on the back (small print) I have never seen pure CLA in the pill form.
mybigbutt, The only reason I would say not to do this combo on induction is because it DOES stall the scale for most of us. If you are anything like I am, I need that extra bit of confidence of seeing that scale move at first. When you say that you are on induction, do you mean that you are in your first two weeks or that you are still at induction level carbs. If you are past the first two weeks then you probably are ready for the combo. Just remember, the scale WILL stall. After about a month the scale will start moving again. Take those pics, even if you do not post them, and take those measurements. That will be where you will see the loss. The studies say that it takes 12 weeks to see progress, but most of us here are seeing it within the first couple of weeks. Good luck.

Michelle, I am on induction again for the I don't know how many times.. but yes, I am still in my first wk of induction. So, if the scale doesn't move will the inches still go down? I'm mostly concerned with my tummy. ( hm, I accidently typed tubby, but that applies too!
) I'd like to maximize my loss as much as I can. I don't care so much about the scale, I am thinking clothing sizes. |

Thanks Veronica
Amy, I am trying to train my hair to stay off my face now The thing that amazes me most about this combo is, when I look at everyones progress pics, I see such definition in the waist area. Everyone is getting "Curvy" again in all the right places ![]() |

I asked this in the muscle matters thread but I dont know if anyone will see it there so I am going off topic and asking it here....
Everytime I work my legs or walk alot, the only muscle that buffs up is the front part of my calf I guess I could call it. I dont know why this happens . My personal trainer said she never saw that happen before either. Anyone know what I am doing wrong or have this happen to them also? They have went down since I stopped going to the gym and working my legs so much, but since I started walking again, thats the area thats getting hard again It looks freaky when they get big ![]() |
