WOE: yikes!
I have completely eaten off program. I haven't been drinking enough water. I have not exercised. I haven't taken my vitamins.

Tomorrow is a new day and I'm back to work. The routine does me good! I will start fresh then and pay for my indiscretions of the past few days.

I'm glad he's hanging in there! Boy you're not cutting him some slack eh? Keeps him honest. Continued for him.

You'll get back on track - I know what you mean about the routine. It's hard to stick to it when things are "off."

It's sleeting here right now and we're waiting for the snow. My daughter is fighting me to go to bed because she knows it's going to snow tomorrow. I'm trying to get her back into the routine!

The recommended dosage for CLA is at least 3000mg a day (I get Netrition's liquid CLA to take 1/2-1TB a day) and most people are taking 2 Borage Oil (1000mg) a day, but some of us take 4 a day--HTH!!

All of the studies that I can find say that 3400mg - 4200mg doses were where the results showed the best.

I take 6 CLA per day... right now it seems that I am at a stall, both weight and measure wise, but I expected that after having an all out cheat week. I'll never do that again !!!

I am glad to know that I am not the only one! The hardest part of cheating is getting back on the wagon. We have to make that promise to ourselves, that we will reach our goal and we have to stick to it.

Let's all have a thinner and healthier New Year!!!

Good morning everyone...it is so hard to get back to work.

Abby - glad to hear everything is progressing positively with your husband. I remember people asking how my hubby was during treatment and I would say he was just as ornery as always..

I did CAD/CALP for a couple of weeks. One it was so hard to have the 1/3 thing and think about it. Two it was hard to have the RM controlled too. I think I have been on atkins for so long and know what I can and can't eat. I feel good now being back on atkins. I should do induction again. The holiday was a bad cheat for me to. But I am not going to be hard on myself. I know there will be times in the future where LC won't be an option and I am just going to do the best I can and get back on track as soon as I can. The only one I have been contimplating looking into is South Beach.

We started moving some furniture out of our house yesterday into a trailer (declutter the house before putting it on market) and when we moved my dresser I pulled a muscle I think in my back. Today I can hardly move. It hurt to put on my socks.. So I don't know what exercise I can do now until it heals.

Good morning everyone. TOM is here and I feel so sick and weak. Still taking my combo. I'm so proud of myself. Me and hubby have stopped drinking soda. We were drinking a total of 4-6 twelve packs a week. It was bad. My skin was extremely dry and my face always had a fine rash. I'm now consuming a gallon of water in a day. I never realized how dehydrated I was.

Since I began using the combo my skin has a glow and it looks moist and supple. No more dryness and my nails are growing like crazy.

I'm back on track so far today. Had a good start to the morning and have taken my combo. I'm counting on the routine of being back at work to get me straight.

Trisha!!!!!

I know you work for a mining company and that you are in Kentucky and NOT West Virginia, but I just want to say I know that when something like this accident happens in your industry it still strikes close to home. My heart goes out to those miners' families and the larger family of all of you who work in the industry.

We all love you here! Stay safe!

It is so good to be back! An 11 day vacation was wonderful but I'm glad to be back to a routine. So for the past 2 days I've been doing m/e minus the eggs and am down 2.5 lbs (weighed and measured on the 1st). I did no exercising over break, did not stick to plan but have dedicated myself to weekly short term goals of not cheating and going to the gym daily (M-F). I've not taken the CLA/GLA since break and won't start back up until I've dropped a few more lbs but will start by the end of January.

I've not read any of the previous posts because there simply are too many and I would not even know where to start. Glad to see so many new faces...

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL

Gail

I also thought of Trisha instantly when I heard of the accident in the mines. I hope they find them alive and well. Many prayers to all the families in the mining industry

Good afternoon everyone. I havent cheated since Christmas. I dont feel like eating at all today. I have the flu or a cold or sinus infection, dunno which, just know I dont feel so good

Abby, sorry your dh is feeling the effects now. We are still praying for you both.
Your right about those trapped miners. When something like that happens, my workplace is very subdued. We know that could happen to us too anytime. (I have seen 3 friends killed there since I have been there) Gets very scarey at times. We actually had the floor rumble and crack open and buckle up under our feet once from built up gas pressure. I can laugh about it now, but we were very terrified at the time. I didnt know any of us could run that fast lol

Psi, Here is a chart I found that shows the effectiveness of several CLA dosages. Looks like 3400mg a day is the magic number. Any more appears to be wasted. Glad your joining us. Dont forget to weight, measure, and take before pics. Keep us posted please

Carla, sorry about your neck. You dont realise how much you move it untill you hurt it huh? lol We are also watching for any news on the trapped miners and praying for a safe recovery. Its sad to think, the chances of them being alive are very slim

Tommyswife, ditto on the hair and nails, growing like crazy here lol

Michelle, hope your not working too hard

Gail, Good afternoon to you also

CNN Breaking News ....Officials in West Virginia "very discouraged" by air tests where 13 miners
are believed trapped, mining executive says.

OMG I have been away from my TV. That is terrible. I'm praying for them. Trish, that sounds so scary. I hope you feel better. You've had a lot going on there.

Carla, hope you feel better too -- did you take some Advil? That can really help a lot if you take it right away.

Hi to everyone. The snow is really coming down. Supposed to get 10" and looks like we may get more if it doesn't slow down. My kids have cabin fever and are fighting like cats and dogs. I have a headache. I'm ready for back-to-school!

Trisha, what is it that you do? Are you associated with the mines?

Michelle, thanks for the welcome...Sorry I've not been around much, I felt so out of touch with all of you with the amount of posts and my not being able to keep up during finals so I sort of drifted away...but I just love you guys too much!

I work 600-800 feet underground in a Limestone Mine. I used to operate a 30 ton dump truck, ran a 988 front end CAT Loader for a short time, but now I run the crusher. I have been there for almost 13 years now. We have run into those gas pockets before and had to clear out of the area. Luckily they were able to drill holes to release the pressure before anything exploded. We have core drillers come in and drill back 1000 feet to check for stuff like that and magnesium content, and water pockets before we actually start shooting that area. Some areas have that rotten egg smell

I apologize as I know this has been explained before, but 106 pages is a lot to look through. I stupidly bought the Evening Primrose Oil instead of the Borage oil, so I have to finish this bottle of EPO first. The bottle says that per serving (3 softgels) there is 135mg of GLA. I thought I read somewhere that people are taking 1000 mg of GLA?? Is that right? That's A LOT of pills to take everyday

Okay you gladsome group of GLA gobblers....
I grabbed a bottle of this just so I could hang out here with you all :
Fish,Flax, Borage

http://www.naturesbounty.com/vf/labels/010151NB.pdf

Do they let you post URL's ?

Now, there is no conjugated L.A. - is that critical ?
3 gels a day.
Sufficient to be an effective dose ?
Yeah, 106 pages to glean is too much with Penn state kicking off in an hour or so..
J/K
How many days before I am thin?
I am only a hunnert pound extry at this juncture.
(sorry, caffeine after dinner)
Can I still hang ?

oops, that might be my error...I think most people are taking 2 Borage Oil pills which is about 480 mg GLA a day, not 1000mg as I incorrectly posted yesterday

but some of us (including me) take 4 a day which is 960mg of GLA a day (I think this is where I got the 1000 number from in my in head--I tend to round up!)

someone else PLEASE correct me if I'm misspeaking her
