I would say, stay away from sugar at all cost. I am doing Atkins and I don't ever count calories. I lost well until I started the OWL phase... I think when I reach that phase again I am going to be ALOT more careful.
That is a good question and I can't really explain it fully enough, maybe post that one in the Main Lobby. |

If you're trying to maintain ketosis, the sugar calories would be the kiss of death and knock you right out of ketosis.
Also, if you are sensitive to sugar, the sugar calories might just trigger really awful cravings for more food, which would ultimately increase the number of calories you intake. Also, if you are sensitive to sugar, you might have a swing in your blood sugar and feel awful from making the choice to eat M&M's. So, it all depends on your goals and how *you* as an individual can best lose weight and how your body responds to different foods. |

On the back of your bottle of Tonalin 1000-CLA it most likely says "74-82% CLA"
All of the studies that I have read say that 3400mg - 4200mg is the dosage that got the best results. You would need at least 5 pills per day in order to reach that amount. (you can see why some people like the liquid, once a day) I take the pills, and I take 6 per day. |

Well, today was measure day.... for the past couple of weeks there has been no change. I was not exercising like I should have been and I cheated a few times.... the scale is up 5 pounds but I'm not changing siggy because I think it's water weight from TOM as well as cheats.
My measurements were up and down this week... bra line --- +1 inch (huh?) waist --- + 1 1/4 (TOM I think) low waist.... pooch area DOWN - 1 (yippee) Everything else was the same. I think also that the reason the measurements could be up is because I have been working harder and muscle retains water to heal. We shall see next week. The "tight jeans journal" is not the same jeans used for the tight jeans Challange, the jeans I use for my journal fit a little better this week, so I guess you can't always go by scale and tape.

hmmmmm Where has our *family* been?
I kinda messed up yesterday... I was trying to do meat & eggs.... I made hubby a big salad and I just had to have some.... It's ok... I'll just start over with M/E today. I honestly hate being limited so much on M/E and induction, but this is a good reminder to not ever cheat like I did over Christmas. I will lose next week if it kills me!!!! |

Hi everybody. Have to catch up on the posts. Been busy running my kids around during their vacation. We took them to Chuck-E-Cheese yesterday and I had the salad bar. I feel sick today so maybe something in there was not so good? I only had some spinach, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, and chopped eggs and I put oil and vinegar on. Maybe the eggs were bad? Anyway, I feel really nausious and have a bad headache so been in bed all day. Had a LC breakfast bar (all I could imagine eating) and tea. Didn't weigh or measure today -- will do tomorrow. Hope everyone is doing well.

Yeah, the salad was not *bad* just more like induction instead of M/E. actually, I think when you are coming off of M/E you should start with lettuce.
Carla, I know what you mean... my house looks like three tornados hit it.... oh wait, they did!!! Ages 6,7 and 8. Almost 6,8 & 9. Next Friday my middle child will be 8 years old! I can't believe they are growing so fast!!! I did tell him that I would not be eating any cake, but I will have my "ice cream" (frozen whipping cream w/ cocoa and splenda) He was Ok with that ![]() Last edited by got2luv : 12-30-2005 at 08:07 AM. |

Hey everyone!!
I started back exercising this week. I must admit every since I started induction, I haven't done anything. Well, as far as exercises go. I got out my Walk Away The Pounds dvd's and started walking. For about the first 2 weeks I'll be doing the 1 mile it's kinda like doing induction. Before I stopped doing those dvd's are was doing 6-9 miles per day. I'm going to start slow and then work my way back up to where I used to be. |

Chevy you go girl,
your doing wonderful. Keep checkin in, we love hearing from you. I enjoy talking to you on Yahoo too ![]() lntmyh, What kind of strange side effects are you having and we can see if anyone else has experienced it. We want to know, good or bad how its doing for you so everyone can stay informed. I havent had any with the liquid cla and borage oil. The dosage you listed is what I take. If your having side effects, maybe cut back to 2 borage a day and go from there. We can tell you more if you let us know what its doing to you |

Chevy, your kiddles are SOOOOOO cute!!! I always wanted twins -- my dh has twins in his family so I hoped but didn't happen. Thought I could get my 2 kids in one swoop but oh well...LOL.
My weight isn't moving. I'm wondering if it is because I'm back to exercising after not for a few weeks? How long does that water in the muscles thing last? I'm trying to do a ff today and see if that can get me moving again. Hope I can do it! It's snowing here today and supposed to get about 3" by tonight so I'll be inside taking down all the Christmas decorations. My kids are so sad to see them come down. Can't believe it's a New Year already. Hope everyone has a safe, Happy New Year's! This is going to be OUR year for weight loss and good health! ![]() |

I sometimes get a little of that...but I notice that when I coffee at home (not at work for some reason). but I look at it as a good thing..cleaning me out!!
I posted my recommittment for 2006 on the Tight Fittin Jeans thread and I know with all the support and fun I have on here that I will succeed. Everyone here is such an inspiration! Oh and update on my sisters bypass surgery...so far everything is going good the trapped gas seems to be better. She is just sore now from the surgery. Now she will be on 6 weeks of liquids. She got her first "meal" yesterday at noon which was 1 glass of grape juice, 1 cup of tea and a thingy of Jello and she said it was way too much and she got full and couldn't eat 1/2 of it. I think my steak and veggies I get on Atkins sounds much better than that. Have a VERY safe and Happy New Years ![]() |

lntmyh, what Michelle said lol. try to give it at least a week, it should go away. Did you cut back yo 2 Borage a day? I always stay so backed up when I LC but this combo keeps me pretty regulated. Not bathroom issues, but normal.
Alismom, I always wanted twins too. The closest I got was babysitting for my twin newborn nephews till they were a year old. My daughter was 7 months old at the time, and my son was 7, and I had my other 2 nephews ages 8 and 4 also lol. Is it any wonder I am a lil crazy now Carla, glad your sister is doing ok. Keep us updated Agrees with Tom. With all this wonderful support here, we are sure to meet our 2006 goals ![]() |

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, Everyone!
I finally got my netrition order on Thursday afternoon. I've had terrible cravings this week, and have eaten more than usual (almonds and a couple LC bars, which I don't normally eat). My weight has stayed the same over the past 4 days (I'm a bit of a scale-aholic), but that's ok. I worked 1/2-day yesterday, and kept having to pull my pants up (I tried sticking my stomach out while walking, but that didn't work very well) So I think the CLA/GLA is doing its thing. I won't re-measure until I have been on it a week. I'm starting with just two borage oil per day, and a slightly rounded 1/2-Tbs of the liquid. We'll see how that goes for a few weeks, then make adjustments if needed. No side effects that I can tell (unfortunately, it's not doing much to suppress my appetite... one side effect I wouldn't mind). If any of you have trouble drinking enough water, I have a little system where I take 5-6 large swallows every time I think of it throughout the day (regardless of how thirsty I am), except for the first 16 ounces I drink in the morning with my combo and multivitamin. I also drink water every time I read the word (on one of these posts). I have managed to average over 100 oz per day this way. Anyway... I hope everyone has a great day!
