Fat burning soup diet
Fat burning soup diet - post results here
the one I use
is the oriental soup diet
in large soup pot
1 bunch celery chopped
1 lf yellow onion ""
2 bell peppers ""
3 bunches green onions ""
1 lb lean meat cooked
1 box extra firn tofu diced
2 cans rotel or one rotel and on stewed tomatoes
1 bag frozen oriental veggies
1/2 head cabbage
1 bunch carrots or 2 lbs baby carrots
simmer for two hours
store in frige and nuke a bowl as needed
if you want a seafood soup add shrimp or other seafood last after simmering..
on the fat burning soup diet site you will see a lot of people bashing the "cabbage soup" diet BUT THIS is not the old cabbage soup diet!!!!

this one is similar to sexy's but it was taken from the cabbage soup diet - not exactly low carb, but if you omit the carrots, it could be

Cabbage Soup Recipe

6 large green onions
2 green peppers
1 or 2 cans of tomatoes (diced or whole)
3 Carrots
1 Container (10 oz. or so) Mushrooms
1 bunch celery
1/2 head cabbage
1 package Lipton onion soup mix
1 or 2 cubes bouillon (optional)
1 48oz can V8 juice (optional)

Season to taste with salt, pepper, parsley, garlic powder, etc.
Slice green onions, put in pot and start to sauté with cooking spray.
Cut green pepper stem end off and cut in half, take seeds and membrane out. Cut the green pepper into bite size pieces and put in pot.
Take the outer leafs layers off the cabbage, cut into bite size pieces, put in pot.
Clean carrots cut into bite size pieces put in pot.
Slice Mushrooms into thick slices (otherwise they will disappear in the soup). Put in pot.
If you would like a spicy soup, add a small amount of cayenne pepper (red pepper) now (1/3 teaspoon is quite a bit as the soup will get spicier as it cooks further).
You can use beef or chicken bouillon cubes for seasoning's they have all the salt and flavors you will need.
Use about 12 cups of water (or 8 cups and the V8 juice), cover and put heat on low. Let soup cook for a long time (two hours works well).
Taste and then season to taste with salt and pepper.

Eat all the soup you want, whenever you want.

I have to do a grocery run this weekend cause Rootbeer w/Bruce and Boujie w/nice2cu is coming to dinner on Wednesday. But I think it would be a good thing to have the soup (hot and savery) along with the crack slaw (crunchie and tasty) along side each other.

I'm happy to share the gumbo recipe, though I'm cooking by the seat of my pants, as usual. (i.e. I'm making up the recipe as I go along, based on my experience eating gumbo in the past and what I liked.)

5 cups of broth (3 chicken, 2 beef today)
3 cups of water
12 oz of uncooked, peeled, deveined, tail removed medium shrimp
8 oz crabmeat (I'm using the real stuff, though I'm sure the imitation would be fine... It's just not low carb)
16 oz okra, sliced into rounds (frozen this time... store was out of fresh)
8 links andouille sausage, sliced bite-sized.
28 oz can of diced tomatoes
1 (or 2) large green pepper, chopped
3 celery stalks, plus leaves, chopped
1 bunch scallions, chopped
5 or so cloves of garlic, minced
2 tsp marjoram
2 bay leaves
buttload parsley (I like parsley, and I find it hard to overdo it)
Salt, pepper, and hot sauce, to taste.

Add water and broth to pot, bring to boil and add shrimp. Bring back to boil and cook shrimp for 3 minutes. Remove shrimp and reserve for later. Add sausage, scallions, tomatoes, okra and spices, bring back to boil. Taste now for salt. Also add hot sauce to taste, if desired. Simmer for 1/2 hour, at least, to let flavors mingle. 15 minutes before serving, add peppers (earlier if you like mushy peppers, I guess). Add shrimp and crab 5 minutes before serving (don't want tough seafood).

I'd also add carrot, if I didn't want to have it on hand for induction-level days

Serve with homemade biscuits if you're not low carbing.

ack, I forgot the celery in my recipe... 3 stalks, plus leaves, chopped. Thanks soon. Yours sounds delicious, btw.

I've had them both with and without roux, and can't see why I'd add it since they both taste great... Might as well go with the lower-carb version, y'know?

I started my soup diet yesterday My mother always lost weight that way. I'm a vegetarian so I made homemade split pea soup and curry califlower soup. Yum. I eat them at lunch and dinner, and yogurt and fruit for breakfast.
Both low fat and really cheap If anyone wants the califlower soup recipe just lemme know....
