Can I join please???? I've put on about 30lbs lately and just cannot seem to get it together. I need something simple to start me off without a lot of choices (foodwise).

![]() This is my 4th day, banana day, and the scale is down 5 lbs this morning. I'm just glad to see it moving down. I'm still working on getting off the 10lbs I gained over the holiday season last year. I know, shame on me! I hope I've learned my lesson. This morning, I made a 'shake' by blending together a small banana, 1 cup skim milk, a few shakes of Stevia, and a few ice cubes. It was delicious. I've had another banana for snack this morning. I did bring an apple for later on. Know it's not exactly on plan, hope it doesn't mess me up. So far, so good.

I like the idea of the low carb breakfast then soup for lunch and dinner. That banana day just sounds terrible. I like bnananas but not a whole day of them!! I am stilll in the deciding stage. I also have the 6wbmo kit and I may start it up. I am getting bigger and bigger and cannot lose with just atkins alone. I love the food I can have!!

I'm still thinking of something I can do longterm, like maybe have fruits on Monday, Fruits and veggies on Tuesday, maybe add some eggs, chicken, fish in for Wednesday-Sunday with no fruits except melon or berries, etc... Does that sound kinda like LFL, other than the first few days? I do good for the first few days of the week then the weekend hits and for some reason I just start grabbing what I can and the weight goes back up. I've got to make some mental and lifestyle changes when it comes to the weekends. I plan on starting today. |

WOE: Protein Power Low-Carb Soup
Start Date: October 2005

Hi there, here is a soup recipe that I use quite often and have gotten good results. It is a very nutritious soup and was very instrumental in lowering my cholesterol.
I got it out of a "Womans's World" magazine I purchased in May of 2004. Protein Power Soup 3 tablespoons olive oil 3 cloves garlic 1 1\2 onions 3 cups each zucchini and yellow squash sliced or diced 3 cups diced cooked chicken 2 cans 14 1\2 oz diced tomatoes 3 cans 14 1\2 oz each seasoned chicken broth (I use Swansons Seasoned Roasted Garlic) 6 cups fresh baby spinach or 3 cups frozen chopped spinach thawed and squeezed dry In large sauce pan over medium heat add olive oil, garlic, and onions, cook until onions are transparent and beginning to become golden. Raise heat to medium high, add zucchini and squash and cook almost until tender; add tomatoes, chicken broth and diced chicken, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes; add spinach and cook until just wilted. Makes 6 servings - enouhg for 3 days (2 cups for lunch and 2 for dinner simple delicious) 1. Start your day with a sensible, low carb breakfast- just limit yourself to 10 grams of carbs per meal Sample breakfasts: 1/2 cup plain whole milk yogurt mixed with 1 scoop vanilla or strawberry protein powder, 1/2 cup fresh or frozen mixed berries and 1 tablespoon pecan or walnut pieces, if desired. 2 eggs, any style, 2 slices bacon or 2 links sausage, 1 slice low-carb toast with 1 tsp. butter, ½ cup fresh or frozen mixed berries, sweetened with Splenda, if desired. 2. Enjoy a 2 cup serving of protein power fat melting soup for lunch and again for dinner. 3. Enjoy 2 snacks per day from the list below: 2 oz dry roasted almonds 1 cup broccoli and cauliflower florets with low-fat ranch dressing (I use Carbwell Ranch Dressing) 1 cup sliced veggies such as bell pepper celery and carrots dipped in 1\4 cup low-fat ranch dressing 1 hard boiled egg with 1 slice whole grain toast topped with margarine 1\2 cup grapes/srawberries with 1 oz mozzarella cheese 1 stick part skim mozzarella string cheese Trust me, this really works, I am doing great on it. NOTE: The soup was created by Mary Dan Eades, M.D., coauthor of the diet Protein Power.
