CLA inches Away Challenge - Monday

Hello to all of you fellow CLA'ers!!! For me, this day marks a new start. I am going to start exercising regularly starting now - NO MORE EXCUSES!!! I can only imagine how much more effective the CLA I taking will be when I get off my duff!! Let's face it, this stuff isn't cheap so don't we all owe it to ourselves to give it the best opportunity to work? Even if you need to start slow like me, doing something physically stimulating for even 15 minutes will be good for you.

I started the thread this morning because I didn't see where mom had started it and I was so excited to report that I moved my hiny off the couch and walked 2.25 miles last night and felt incredible afterwards. My muscles feel a little tight this morning - yeah - and that motivates me to do it again!! So did putting a dress on for church yesterday that used to be spandex city and not for public consumption . Not only could I get it on, but it was loose!!! If that can happen w/out exercise, I can only imagine what good things are to come when I get off the couch and get moving. I have decided that my main challenges will be CLA and Beginners Exercise Challenges and I am totally focused on those.

Do any of you have some article of clothing hanging in your closet that is a goal for you to wear?? My suggestion is that we move it out of the closet and hang it on the back of your bedroom door where you can see it often. Make it something that is short term attainable (don't pick a size 4 item if you are currently a size 20
Once a week, try it on to see how close you are to wearing it. I did that with this dress and it was very motivating to me. You won't have to go out and treat yourself when you lose because the treat will be wearing that outfit!!! You could always go out and buy new shoes to match - sorry- I LOVE shoes!! Accessories are an awesome way to treat yourself without cheating!!!

Will check in later, kiddies want to eat!!!

Good morning, and thanks for starting the thread.

What am I motivated to wear? Hm. Well, I'm currently sewing a dress to wear to DS's wedding next month, but I already know that will fit. Maybe something for the rehearsal dinner? This should be knee-length to show off my (improved) legs. Haven't got anything in mind just yet, though.

As you can see from my siggy, I put back on 1.5 lbs. DD and I were shopping and I found SF malted milk balls, a terrible downfall for me. I ate one and actually got tears in my eyes, it tasted so good. So of course I ate half a dozen and then spent the rest of the night feeling very sorry. Those are now off limits!

I've got one dose of CLA left. Not sure if I'll buy any more. It's awfully expensive and I haven't seen the results some others hame. Probably because I'm close to goal.

After a very emotional weekend...my beloved dog died in my arms yesterday. I will admit that I did not pay attention to what I ate or drank. I am, however, back on track today despite my emotional condition.

Although I don't have one article of clothing I want to wear and motivates me to reach goal, I do want to buy myself a skinny black dress that I can wear when I reach goal. I am not buying it yet since I won't know what size I will be.

I am up an incredible 4 lbs today due to taking sleeping pill last night to help me sleep and not drinking enough water. Ugh.

Good morning kewl_lulu, Melbalina, yvonne326, Carol21950 and all who follow.

Thanks for starting the thread, kewl_lulu. Congrats on the exercising!

So sorry about your dog, yvonne326. I have two of my own, so I know how attached you can become to them.

As far as an article of clothing in my closet, I have to say there's nothing in my closet that doesn't fit me because I got rid of everything that didn't. BUT, I want so much to be able to wear a two-piece bathing suit! I haven't bought it yet, but someday soon I will! And when I do, it won't get buried in my closet, it will hang right there on the outside so I can see it!!

BTW, my belly looks flatter these days. I don't measure (bad bad) but I can see the difference.

Have a great day.

(((Yvonne))), I'm so sorry. I do Australian Shepherd rescue and I love them all. I dread the day I lose my best friend.

Lulu, I'm so proud of you. You'll be amazed with how quickly you'll be able to do and exercise more. It's so empowering! Stick with it and you will truly see a difference. Exercise is so very important.

Can't think of anything in particular I want to wear. But that is an excellent idea for motivation. Maybe I'll have to go out and buy a high cut bathing suit to get me to do the weighted lunges I need to lift my fanny and back of upper thigh. Right now I wear a suit with trunk type bottoms.

Denise

Hi. Yvonne. I am so sorry about your your doggie. My pretend mom. just had to put her boxer down. because of brain problems. I had to tell my daughter who has known Brandy all her life. And she is 8. That swas horriable. We to have 2 dogs and they are just part of the family.. Good luck swetie..

O.k I am gonna be good from here on out. I stoped taking the pills cause I kept cheating so today 5:30 am I walked and lifted weights. So I am gonna start taking them today.

I would love to lose 100 lbs and wear a size 8 thats what motivates me. I have a pair of size 10 DKNY jeans that I wore to Alaska 9 years ago that where way to big now I can only get them up to my thigh. I want them tofit. And this wol will get me there.

How to you guys handle peer pressure. I blow it around my friends more then when I am alone... I just need to tell them no. I know I am their eating buddy. I always love to eat. Now I will just eat the healthy stuff...

Good morning everyone!!

I don't have one motivating outfit. I do try on clothes that are a size lower than I currently wear about 1x in a 2 week period. I'm just happy seeing the inches come off and getting into a smaller size.

Yvonne I'm so sorry for your loss. We are big pet lovers here, so I can understand perfectly.

Stephanie when I go out with my friends I try to pack snacks and water bottles so I won't even be tempted. There has been high carb icecream at all of my gatherings with friends and I want to be thinner and healthier more than I want a sugar high which would make me sick afterwards.

I just started taking the CLA with clarinol. Does anyone know if this stuff actually works? I have literally tried everything. Low-carbers miracle, CLA capsules, garlic and stuff like that for yeast, couch to 5K challenge last summer, fat fast, thyroid boosters, you name it I have tried it. I lost about 15 pounds when starting Atkins in April 2001 and NOTHING since, no matter what I try! I won't go back to eating bread, sugar, pasta, rice, etc. I just get so discouraged because this isn't working for me. I have been in ketosis most of the last 2 years. I've written to the Atkins center and they suggested thyroid, yeast, etc., things I've already been doing. I need to lose at least 25 more pounds so, it's not that I'm at a proper weight already or anything. Can you say FRUSTRATING?

Paminpa, have you tried a Fat Fast? Dr. A describes it on pp. 272 or so in his book. You eat about 1,000 calories a day, but it's 80% fat. You don't feel hungry much because fat is what tells your stomach that you're full.

There's a Fat Fast challenge thread here that will have more info.

I am doing the Fat Fast for 3-4 days, then OWL for 3-4 days, then Fat Fast, etc. This broke my 4-6 months-long stall.

You can lose 1 lb every 1-2 days. Do not stay on it too long because you could lose weight too fast.

I have a pair of black leather pants that I'm determined to wear comfortably again. I recently had them altered to a low rise,I can't stand wearing pants around my waist anymore!

how I take it- I mix my 1/2 T in with 1 T raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar and a splash of water, then down it like a shot. It goes down easier without coating your lips and mouth, plus the cider vinegar does many awesome things for you. I take it about an hour after dinner to help curb evening cravings and deal with any extra carbs I may have eaten at dinner. (The vinegar has been shown to act as a sort of carb blocker, you can google it for a better explanation)
