Thanks for starting this, Liz! I thought of doing it myself but being a newbie and such I didn't want to step on any toes.

Yeah thanks Liz. I was hoping Cate was alright also - it's probably been a week or so since I've seen her here. I haven't seen Cheryl and also Chantyl hasn't been around but I've seen her post on other boards so I guess she's OK. Finally got some rain in Austin last night! Well - I'm getting ready to wind down cause I have to work tonight and we've been really kicking it up with the holiday weekend. Everyone stay safe - Eileen

Hi, everyone!

Welcome Denise and Lawmom

Thanks for starting the Sept thread, Liz. I do appreciate y'all so much, I really missed posting last week but with so much stress I just came home and fell into bed.

The last week has been pure "you know what" at work. The leader of the hostility and her co-heart made it awful. The tension was so strong, you could cut it with a knife.

Now for the good news!
I heard late yesterday I DID get the first job I interviewed for, my last day is next Friday the 11th in this department!

The hostility team "appeared" surprized I had found another job, but I know they will be glad to have the me gone. I will be in another part of the hospital, the outpatient department, so our paths will rarely ever cross and they do not know where it is I am going and I am not going to tell them!

It does break my heart to see all the hard work my previous two partners and I put into making the department run so smoothly and provide such great service to our clients go down the toilet by a new bunch of "know it alls" that don't know anything. (One partner retired in June, the other one, found a better job and left in July).

Oh, well, on to a new phase of my career with no looking back.

Thanks for letting me ventilate and listening to me!

I really have missed you all!

Today, I got on the scale and I am up 7 lbs, last week, I guess I did throw in the diet towel.

Today, I am back on track to the letter, so maybe I can get going in another direction. The stress got to me, but I am glad I held off as long as I did without gaining.

Well, y'all have a great weekend. Will post again soon. I can use the accountability now for sure.

Hugs,
Cate

Awesome Cate! That's great news! I'm confident that you'll get back on track with your eating. Whenever it gets to ya at work just think of that sweet grandbaby! We've got a bit of drama going on at work but it doesn't directly involve me so I just stand back and watch it unfold. Geez - if I ever spilled the beans the "big kahuna's" head would roll! Well such is life. I'm going to grab a bite, read the newspaper and get ready for bed. Work will be nice tomorrow - time and a half pay - plus an extra day off with pay. I will check in soon and everyone have a great week...Eileen

Just stopping in to say hi -- since I found the Sept. thread.

Congrats on the new job!

Weight finally started going down again. All week it stayed the same during TOM's visit, so I was worried. Since I just started about three weeks ago... I definitely felt like I hit my first plateau... Now I am determined to be down in the "1" numbers in the next couple of weeks. Less than 5 pounds to lose ... sounds doable... Of course, I am thinking in small numbers and mini goals not the big numbers to make the real goal...

Hope everyone is having a great labor day!

Just thought I'd say hello and give a small update on my life. I've posted this on a couple of other places on the boards, but my grandma is in the hospital on a ventilator. She's been battling cancer, but she has pneumonia now and she's not doing well. She's in ICU here in Temple. I am working hard to stay on my eating plan, and I've been succeeding so far. I've never had any luck with doing that during stressful situations.

I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the somewhat cooler weather. Have a great day!

I am sorry to hear about your grandmother. I will add her and your family to our prayer list. A family friend of ours is going through something similar. Unfortunately, the people at MDACC have only given her a few days ... however, that was updated earlier this week from a few hours.

God is in control after all....Stay strong.

Thank you so much, everyone, for your kind words. She is breathing on her own now and will be moved to the Oncology ward today. The problem is that since she has been battling cancer for these last few months, her body is just not strong enough to fight off the infection from the pneumonia. It could really go either way at this point.

I am doing my best to stay strong, lawmom, and I will be thinking of your friend as well. I have stayed with my eating plan and I'm very happy that I've done so.

I know it is hard to stay on plan when bad things are happening around you. I am a stress/boredom eater -- and food is always what I have turned to for comfort at low points. I am very proud of you for sticking to it. After all, losing the weight should make us all happier, healthier people right????

Welcome Eliza! Hope everyone is doing well. Rain after rain in Austin finally! So nice and cool. Off tonight and just relaxing. Went to Pok-E-Jo's today and got some smoked sausage for dinner. The older I get the simpler the pleasures get! By the way Eliza - just out of curiosity - what is CALP? Talk to everyone soon...Eileen

Thank you so much, Shelley. She is still in the hospital, but out of ICU now. I don't know that she'll ever fully recover, but we're hoping she'll be able to go home in a few days.

Welcome to the Texas thread!!

Hi, y'all,

Donia, I am so sorry to hear about your grandma. I will keep you and yours in my prayers.

Welcome, Shelly and Eliza,

Hi, Eileen, I agree , simple is better.

Today, I started orientation at my new position. What a relief. The new managers are glad to have me, they have said to me. What a breath of fresh air compared to the previous hostile environment.

Back on track since last week. More than the scale moving upward, it is always difficult when one goes backwards into a larger size.

Well, give me a another week or so, of LCing and Callanetics and I will be back into my 10's again.

Love the cooler weather.

Have a good week on the LC trail, ya'll.

Cate

Just wanted to say hi!

According to your stats, you live just up the road from me. I just started doing the LC dieting in August and have been pretty good overall... but it is hard to find LC foods in our area (other than the meats and cheeses). I am going to have to start ordering on line pretty soon.

Congrats on the new job. I was just offered a new one as well -- but I love my bosses and they made me a really good offer to stay -- so I am going to stay where I'm at.

I can't wait to see size 10s again... Unfortunately, I have a long way to go. However, I will get there On the positive side, even though the scale hasn't moved quite as much as I wanted, I have had several people tell me that they can really tell that I am losing weight and that totally makes it all worthwhile!

Hi Recluse It's been raining like crazy here this past week. I kind of enjoy it, though.

CALP stands for Carbohydrate Addict's Lifespan Program (the earlier version was titled CAD - carbohydrate addict's diet) In a nutshell ...you eat super low carb 2 meals, and the 3rd is a balanced meal of 1/3 veggie, 1/3 protein, and 1/3 carb, preceded by a big green salad. The balanced (or reward) meal needs to be consumed within the bounds of 1 hour to prevent a second release of insulin. It works if you follow it and you don't feel deprived.
