Oops! I just started one at the same time . Oh well, I think most people find the new thread by following the link from the old one, so it probably won't matter.

shame about your weather ailuros , hope the farm shopping was successful at least

dancer hope u got your essay done

when is kissa back? i forgot (now theres a surprise me forgetting lol) how long she is gone for?

Definitely a successful shop. This is a good season for it. Before long there'll be nothing but cauliflower and cabbage again.

I was just wondering when Kissa and Pixie get back. And when JFM comes out to play again.

We don't have a freezer, so I don't do a lot of stocking up. There were some pickling cucumbers last week, so I made some dill pickles. And I've bottled tomato puree and blackcurrants, but I don't do large scale preserving.

I pickled some quail's eggs last week, too, but that was more about playing than preserving, since I bought them from the supermarket, where you can get them all year round anyway. When the cauliflowers reappear I need to make some more piccalilli.

I'll probably have one of the eggs just to try them, but I don't really like eggs anyway. They're more for my husband, who saw the recipe and fancied trying them.

I don't make jam, because we never eat it, but I do a few jars of marmalade when the Seville oranges appear.

We haven't had a freezer for ten years or more, so we're used to it. We live five minutes walk away from the shops, so it's usually quicker to go out and buy something than wait for it to defrost. When I lived in a more rural spot I had a freezer, but because I like cooking, I was always making things and freezing them, but never bothered to eat them, so it didn't really work very well . There are just a few things it would be handy to be able to freeze, but on the whole I don't really miss it.

mu hub eats jam hence me making it, last year i made some blackberry jam with sweetner so i could have it, it worked really well but didnt last terribly well.. yummy i love marmalade, i get a reduced sugar one from megastore

hub LOVES chutneys so we made 2 lots of courgette, rhubarb and plum, also pickled a load of beetroot.. u can imagine the smell in the house with all that lot going on lol

lol know what u mean about puttin it in freezer and forgetting, i have a sort out every so often and use stuff up, also cos i can buy in bulk its cheaper.. that and no supermarket within 6miles hehe

I've just re-read your post, Dancer - I was assuming it was the usual pain and dizziness. If you're checking hcg, it doesn't sound as if it's headaches you're looking into! I hope you feel better soon anyway. And tell us what the tests say .

Can't you phone OH to bring some over with him - I'm pretty sure chocolate digestives can fix most things. It's worth a try.

I hope your day is going OK, dancer.

Shy, I think you could swim in the streets today. Or at least take a shower. But it's not my fault - I haven't been hanging washing out today.

Still don't seem to have the asthma stuff quite right. If I use enough inhaler to get rid of all the asthma feelings, my hands start shaking. If I cut back a bit too much, the shaking stops, but the coughing and tight chest comes back. I keep adjusting, trying to find an amount that fixes the asthma without causing a new set of problems .

Do you have the chocolate digestives? (Actually, I think I prefer plain, but I haven't had either sort for ages.)
