This month for me: sleep! Getting back into a good bedtime habit. Makes it easier to actually tackle exercise and the rest if I'm not addled from sleep deprivation.

Thanks for the new thread Junk!
For June I have a lot of mini goals - I fly home next week for a hen do, so I wanna have lost about 5lbs for then. My cousin gets married on the 27th so I wanna have lost about 8 in total. Anything more will be bonus! I will do Callanetics 4x a week. Walking every single day. I will also be doing the 100 push up challenge. Its my birthday on the 9th July and by then I want to be 1 stone lighter! I will be one stone lighter. Have a happy June all!! G x

Ok - I rang the bank this morning and spoke to someone else as our advisor was busy. It turns out we were declined as expected. We think its cos of our lack of credit card history (thats just so ridiculous though) but she appealed on Friday on our behalf. You'd think though, wouldn't you, that she would have called us to let us know?!
She had told us when we applied that as we don't have credit cards etc, there'd be no credit history for us. But that because we have no debt, CCJ's or any bad debt or credit we should be approved on appeal if we are declined initially. Girls - we just want and need this sooo bad. Why are the banks punishing us - look at their recent history and look at ours, you know? We have saved a nice, tidy amount for a deposit. Hubby and I never took out any student loans. We've never dipped in to our overdraft, but hey we're being penalised for it. I just hope and pray, Please Lord, that our appeal is apporved. So very sad! ![]() Last edited by Glamour P!; 06-01-2009 at 07:34 AM.. |

Happy June everyone.
Sorry been MIA, went away for the weekend and enjoyed the sunshine. Can't catch up or I'd be here all day. So fill in the blanks as you would wish!! Will say that the banks should take a leaf out of your book Glam. Hope the appeal succeeds. Got to the gym today but ate and drank to much over the weekend. |

It's just hard for anyone to get credit now, even with a good record. Good luck with the appeal.

Hey I hope the banks sees sense.
They are being silly at the moment. I work in an accountants office and my clients are having a hell of a time getting any credit. I just ate chocolate! ![]() I am so damn distracted, - moving at the end of the week and still packing that I just totally forgot about diet. I only ate two squares. Is that really bad - will i have messed up my Ketosis? Help! |

Hi All
Marking my place! Sorry about bank Glam - had similar problem years ago!! Taught today - a Receptionist Workshop - it was weird - 2 men and 2 ladies - not used to mixed classes of locals - they're nearly always separate! The men thought the course was to be delivered in Arabic - that didn't start us off well!!! Anyway -more tomorrow!! |

They declined the appeal. She said it also had something to do with affordability - but I think she has her figures wrong cos we went thru our figures twice before we applied, or we wouldn't have applied dammit! And plus she should never have appealed without consulting us, so we could have gone over the figures again. This is all so stressful. I can't put it to words how devastated I am. Honestly. I'm so gutted.

So sorry Glam. Really tough for you both. Cuddle up together and remember all the wonderful things you have in life. Be grateful for that and who knows what will be around the corner.

Thanks Dancer and Kissa.
Kissa you are right. I'm Thankful for all we have, really I am, but I just need to get out of this place. And we don't want to leave this lease and start a new one. We can give 2 weeks notice here and thats so very handy. But anywhere else, we'll have to start a brand new lease and the shortest term is 6 months. We have 9 flats in this building and there are some horrible lodgers here. We share 2 loos and a shower room with several other flats - and trust me, they have no concern that others have to use this place too. Sometimes people 'try' out door. Post goes missing. People use the money we put in the washing machine meter for the tumble. Each wash costs a pound. I just hate it here. I really do! |

Sharing two loos and one shower room? You are right, you need to get out of there soon.
Still, while you have to be there hold on tight to the love you share, that is what will see you through. So sorry this hasn't worked out for you. ![]() |

Glam, what a disappointment
. Someone I know who's just buying a house was turned down by his bank, but went to a mortgage broker and ended up with a mortgage with a different high street bank with no problems, so don't give up. |

Do you have housing associations in NI? I'm a housing association tenant and it's great. Better protection than as a private tenant, usually cheaper, rents similar to council rates. And I'm personally in a really great area - one of Newcastle's posh bits - where the commercial rents or actual house prices would be way out of my league, and all the neighbours are nice. Housing associations can be fussier than councils about who they'll have on their lists, so most of their tenants will be respectable well behaved folks, so it's rare you'd find yourself stuck with some scumbag neighbours.
Might be worth checking out at least as a temporary solution.

Renta, definitely try and develop a taste for the dark stuff! Lindt, Green & Blacks. It's like super-chocolate! And a couple of bits is all you'll want, it's so intense.
Always check the labels ond dark chocolate though, since they can vary a lot in the sugar added. Lindt and Green & Blacks are okay, but the Divine Fairtrade, not so much - at least last time I checked. |

morning everyone. well starting induction didn't happen
- i just wasn't prepared for it. we ended up getting back home very late sunday and so couldn't do a supermarket run. however, on a good note, today is going well, already nearly at the end of my first litre of water - that probably doesn't sound unusual for the rest of you but i usually drink 6-8 cans of diet coke a day and not much else! have been cold turkey on the coke for the last few days though so i guess i have made a bit of progress.Renta & junk - i totally agree on Green & Blacks, much nicer than CDM! but again hard to resist so i'll still have to ban it from the house for the moment given my total lack of self control! Glam - keep persisting! i've been in the same situation and did exactly what ailuros suggested by going with broker and although it was stressful and took *ages* it worked out in the end.Hi Kissa - hope you had a great weekend away Hi to everyone else as well . enjoy the sunshine (having said that thank god for air conditioning!).Shasta, x Last edited by shasta-cat; 06-02-2009 at 03:47 AM.. |

This was at work. Nicked from the fridge with no intention... Just wasn't thinking at all.
have to disagree on the chocolate front. CDM will always be my choc of choice. But having said that it didn't even taste that nice. I am on caffeine free diet coke and losing has slowed. Should i try and eschew because of the aspartame do you think? Eating tinned salmon and mayo at the mo. I was sooo hungry I felt sick. |

i moved over to caffeine free the last time i did atkins so that's all i've been drinking recently. i definitely think the aspartame stalls me as my weightloss was quite a bit slower this time. that's why i've given it up completely. but i've read that it varies with different people so maybe it won't cause you a problem (and i'll be very jealous if that's the case!) x

thanks.
I just can't like drinking water. I wonder what else i could have. How about naturally sparkling mineral water - like Badoit for instance, maybe with lime juice? Any thoughts anyone? |

Hello all ![]() Sorry I've been MIA over the weekend, weekends are always busy for me. I worked Saturday 3-10 and Sunday 5-10 and I work full time in the week too so I'm quite tired. Also went to hell on earth (AKA Ikea) to get something for the enormously huge and heavy TV to sit on (we got a coffee table) plus I mucked out my horse on Sunday so busy busy. Haven't lost an ounce, I'm stil 223lbs which I have been for about a fortnight now. At least I haven't put weight on, but I could do with it coming off now, getting a bit sick of seeing the same number on the scales ![]() Hope everyone is ok, I'm off to catch up on the old thread now too. Dancer - are you feeling better? |
