Down pound today. No right to have lost as I don't think gallons of red wine are mentioned anywhere in induction!
Oh well, I'll take it. |

I think you sent it my way
. I was up a pound this morning. We went out for dinner last night, and I did skip the bread, but still, I wasn't totally surprised. Unhappy, but not surprised. |

Funny how weight is all relative. A few years ago I was 125, now I would be ecstatic to see 140!
I find that if I go out in the evenings I do better, as I not around the house eating food. Of course, I have to make myself drive, if not I drink when I am out. Tonight I am helping out the Brownie Pack with their Computer Badge after work. Then home for tea and get changed and out to pub quiz, an happy to drink diet coke during the week. |

Hi All
We're doing well here. Congrats on the 1lb down - commiserations the other way!!! I too have no scales - but yesterday I tried on clothes and actually fitting me better than I thought - maybe the basic mediterranean diet is fine for me - just need to avoid too much of the bread! However the scales should be here in 2 weeks - so the truth will be known then! I have to ask what is a Matteson Fridge Raider???? Is it like their sausage things? I used to love the Homer Simpson Sausages - mmmmmmmmmmm. Having satellite TV fitted today - yay!! We have had 2 English Language channels up to this point - driving DH in particular slightly mad (he's not an Oprah or Grey's Anatomy fan). Sad to care about telly viewing - but stops the 'let's go out, there's nothing to watch' mentality. Still being eaten alive by the mosquitos (or perhaps sand flies) here - so today found an Avon shop and bought myself their Skin So Soft spray - not designed as an Anti-Mosquito thing - supposedly for keeping skin soft (go figure) - but it has a great added side benefit of being a great insect repellant - I think it's their biggest seller in South America - and they researched why and discovered this side benefit. Hoping it will stop the annoying bites. Work starts on Monday - need to do some prep!!! Slightly longer than I thought - but that means more money - so not complaining -particularly as am earning same take home pay as in Australia - where I worked a 8 1/2 + hour day and now I'm doing 3 hours 45 mins with a 1/2 hour break!! Liking Cyprus more and more!!!! Alright - better go and help in the house - speak soon!!!! Have fun everyone.

How are you getting on without your tea Vicky? You could measure out an exact amount of milk each day and include that in your carbs.
I am not looking forward to being bitten! I believe that the don't like vitamin B so you could try taking some of that. I always say that there is a finite amount of weight in the world and if someone is losing then someone is gaining!!! Sorry Ailuros... |

Those fridge raiders sound good. May put them on the shopping list.
Alcemene, I watched your video on YouTube of you making cream cheese muffins! It was great. I'm thinking about making some of those for with my breakfast next week. |

Aww thanks ladies. I am getting the kitchen redecorated so more videos soon I hope! Painting the base coat this weekend (unless I find something more exciting to do which will happen no doubt). Am doing a series of video lectures this summer for my course which si taught in China so best get my hair in order!
![]() Regarding Fridge Raiders - these are in the yellow foil packets right? I know they are low in carbs and calories but are they OK to eat? They do contain a minimum amount of wheat. |

I'm going to look for the fridge raiders tomorrow and see if I fancy them, or if they have too many ingredients.
I've just been making my meal plan and shopping list for next week. I'm especially looking forward to breakfasts! Going to base them around the One Minute Muffin. I find that really filling, so it's a great way to start the day. I'm planning most days to make a One-Minute-McMuffin. I'll make the muffin the night before, plain (no spices or sweetner) in a little round plastic box I have. Split it and cool and it's like an English muffin, if you squint. In the morning I'll lightly toast it, lash butter on it and fill it with a fried egg, bacon and maybe a slice of cheese. Wow. Some mornings I'll vary. Just use it for dipping in the fried egg, and make it a bacon butty! Or make it scrambled egg on toast - need an extra egg for that. Or do it French toast style. Or make it a spiced muffin and maybe eat half after my bacon & egg and take half to work for a morning snack. By the way, what do you think would happen if one put blueberries into the muffin mix? Would the microwave make them burst? Would that be bad? Or would it be a taste explosion?I'm leaving the cream-cheese muffins till the week after, as I'm leaving cream cheese off the menu next week. Lunches are going to be chicken salad, with mayo, spring onion and celery, and some cherry tomatoes and cheese on the side. Later, on gym days, I'll have some cottage cheese (Losely brand of course, accept no substitute!) Dinners, well, I'll keep the crockpot busy this weekend, pork joint one day, beef joint the next, and they'll cover me for dinners. Veggies I'll have with them to include, broc & sprouts with the beef and sweetheart cabbage and a little onion with the pork. Finish off dinner with berries (whichever ones look best or are on special offer tomorrow) and cream. Keeping it simple and wholesome this coming week!

I've only tried the yellow ones. I am worried about the wheat content, they seem to have a coating on them but cannot tell what it is!

Hi All
Didn't quite manage to start the other day - but am feeling more positive today - so am giving it another shot. I think the problem was that we went to the not so good supermarket - and I couldn't find things I wanted - tomorrow (after work - eek) I will go and have a proper browse. There is some low carb soya milk here - so I will buy that. Biggest problem seems to be Mayonnaise - lowest one I've found is 2.8 grams per 100grams - I know it's easy to make - but what is the best sort of device to make it in? I've been investigating gyms - so the plan is to start hitting the gym again soon - just to do some classes that I like. DH & I may be on the move again - not 100% guaranteed - but the possiblity of a job in a country we love - so I've decided, I want to look my best! Alcmene - what do you teach via video??? Alright all - take care Lots of love |

It costs an arm and a leg - but we're used to it this will be something like our 18th move in 20 years - that's not including dumping ourselves with Mum for upto 6 months at a time. It's not a bad thing - as otherwise I wouldn't get rid of all my clutter every now and again!
I teach Microsoft Office - but not computing as such - as well as business and English Language - my post-grad is in Educational Technology and I would love to develop some teaching arenas that aren't just face to face - but no where I've worked has really done that yet - and I don't feel knowledgeable enough to start it for them. Oh well. Day going well so far - here's hoping I stay on track! |

OMG Pancakes!
I made pancakes for breakfast!
![]() Mixed 25 grams of almond flour and 1 small/medium egg, then added watered down double cream until it looked about right. Then left in the fridge all night, since pancake batter is supposed to be better left for a while. It mixed way easier than normal flour based batter! It only bloody worked, didn't it! They were a bit more fragile than normal ones, but basically, it worked and they tasted great! Had 2 with bacon wrapped inside them and one with berries. Might have been best just making two actually, the last one was very skinny! I will definitely be doing this again. It's more a weekend breakfast thing, I think, when I have more time, since they are slightly time consuming to make. Tomorrow, French toast one minute muffin, with bacon and cheese. |

Thin crepes. I might try the thick american style ones sometime. Oh and I didn't toss them, just turned them over with a spatula. I don't have the coordination for that at the best of time, never mind at 6:30 in the morning!

That sounds yummy!
If you like pancakes you may like this my cinnamon waffles. I have a waffle maker I got dead cheap from Argos. I put two eggs in a bowl, some vanilla DaVinci and loads of cinnamon, and whisk with a fork! I then pour into my waffle maker for a couple of minutes until cooked! Great served with bacon. |

I had a pancake for breakfast, too, but not at 6:30
. Mine was a "Dutch pancake," somewhere in the Yorkshire pudding/clafoutis family. I topped it with blackcurrants and cream. Now I'm getting hungry! |
