Anyone from Arizona?????

From time to time I have seen people from Arizona here.............would be nice to know where everyone is from!!! I'm from Douglas and have been LCing for the better part of 5 yrs......my loss is VERY slow and frustrating at times but have had some recent success! Working hard to keep it off!! Would be good to hear from all you AZ LC'ers!!!!!

Chandler!!! Well anymore you might as well be part of Tucson!!! I think Tucson and Phoenix are going to touch one day!!!

I'm from Douglas, down south on the border.....i have a domestic partner and we share her three kids...all teens. the oldest is 17, youngest is 14. All in high school this coming year. It's gonna be SOOO much fun!!!

I'm the lab manager at our hospital. I've been here for just about 9 years. originally from Massachusetts. Are you from AZ??

Hello!! Glad to meet ya! Yeah, this thread has been slow going for sure....where in AZ were you stationed? I would guess Fort Huachuca but i know there are other places around. I'm in Douglas....which is on the border. Where in CO are you? I am going back east to see my youngest daughter who is leaving Sept 2 for the Navy. Any advice to give her?? Yeah, New England is my home...was born and raised in CT and then after my divorce i moved to Springfield and area and then up to Turners Falls. I kinda miss it but not enough to go back. I'm hopin to get up there when i am on vacation. My daughter is a big Red Sox fan. Hope you'll keep posting!! Talk to you soon.

Hey there... I was at Ft. Huachuca, yes! I am currently in Colorado Springs...!

Well I don't know much about Navy Boot Camp but whatever she does, she must listen to her instructors lol. Never talk back. Believe me, lots of people did while I was in training.

Writing home, friends is a good way to pass time and keep you from being lonely. I had about an hr every night of my personal time but sometimes stayed up a little later.

What is her job going to be?

A dear friend of mine lives in Tucson, and when I first visited her, I fell IN LUVVVVVVVVVV with the area. Absolutely gorgeous.

We moved to Arizona 3 years ago from Northern California when my husband was offered a job in Scottsdale too good to turn down. He had to drag me kicking and screaming but I've really grown to love it.

We live in Desert Hills (northwest Phoenix area) near Anthem and not far from Glendale. When we lived in California there were a group of locarbers from the CC who used to get together at the Outback for dinner once a month or so. It was wonderful and I made lifelong friends through that experience.

Would love to plan a get together if anyone else is interested.

What a coincidence, my dads company built a custom home there and is in the process of finishing up another house.

well that's a small world!! i usually have to travel long distances to meet people who live right next to me!! sorry we didn't know one another while you were here!! My dd's job will be internal communication engineer. she is excited. i'm going out to see her before she leaves next week.

What does everyone do? I don't remember if I ever said where i was from or what i did.....so I'm originally from New England. I moved here from Massachusetts 9 yrs ago. I fell in love with AZ the first time I came out here and I managed to get here 4 yrs later. AZ has really changed since that first time. Back then there were pastures between Chandler and Phoenix!! Amazing how quickly it is happening. I am the manager of our hospital lab here, going on 2 yrs now....management certainly is an experience. Well glad you are all here.....i'm excited about forming a group......what should we call ourselves???

I'm born and raised here, and I've never gotten used to the heat! But I love the winter here! I continue to wear tank tops during that time and sandals, and if I get cold I wear a light sweater. Unless we hit a freeze!

Oh wow, I'm bad at thinking of names, lol!! I'll have to think about that.

Wow, so happy to see some of you so close.

Glendale has a great steak house that my dh and I have enjoyed. There might be a better one but being as he is from Texas, we just always pick Lone Star. There's an Outback out there on Bell too.

What do you think about planning to get together for dinner one night. I've got out of towners visiting til next Tuesday, but after that I'm pretty free most evenings. Would love to meet and get to know you all better. Back in California, I had a big group over to the house for a locarb barbeque which was really a lot of fun, but it's too hot right now. I think for now a steakhouse meet up would be perfect.

By the way, the company I work for is building a house in Dessert Hills, off of 7th St. and Carefree HW.

Howdy....late tonight....I work at a new that has opened up as a Cashier this year...unless I get on as a teachers aide later...I am a Activity Director for Nursing Homes but had to have a break after my 2nd husband died....I love it here in AZ...I am with you I agree about the shorts and tee shirts.....and sandals...Nothing else for me...I will add that sweater too....My love bought season tickets for the Cardinals football and the Suns basketball so I will be busy with him for awhile...New relationship and loving it....Hugs to all yall....I am fixing to work on some Scrapbooking for afew mins...Makes me home for Texas and my sons...wow...Did great the last 2 days...am going to get in shape for sure.....Swimming is the # one thing for me here ...beat the heat...lol....bye for now...smile....

Cool ladyinlove! I never been to a Cardinals game, but I went to alot of Suns and Dbacks games. I love how the Cardinals stadium is on the west side now!

That's very near us although we are closer to 7th Avenue and Carefree Hwy. They're building a lot of custom homes in this area, and for the life of me I can't figure out why. There are SO many homes up for sale right now, including brand new ones.
