Hi Cindy, The day was a nightmare. Took 4 hours to get there. Building huge with many many people milling about. Doctor examined me in a filthy room, bin spilling over with used dressings, syringe and bandage on the floor. Told me he was pretty sure I was OK but I needed to have a scan. SO we went to the scan dept and they said come back in 2 weeks or pay 115 lira to have it done today. Well, we didn't want to do the 4 hour journey again so we agreed to pay. We had to find where to pay and queue. The database went down, the queue was huge and people were pushing in all the time. It was very hot.
We had arrived at 11 and by 3 we had paid and finally had something to eat and drink. Coke, a cheese toastie with tomato. Other choices, cake or chocolate. Not a low carbers dream and I will take food with me next time, meant to last time. Went back for scan early and had an ultrasound which showed no problem. Tehn went for the mammogram and was told they were doing it because the mammograms done at the local hospital were "too white" and badly positioned. Because it is not good to have too many in a short amount of time I could nly have one and she sat me down to show me the difference between the mammorgams done here in Fethiye and her mammogram. There was quite a difference. I had thought the fethiye mammograms were indistinct and this proved it. I had to sit for 40 mins to wait for her notes to be typed up and when we got back to the doctor, he had gone. We were told to wait and at about 5.30 he came back and told me I needed to have dye injected into my ducts and an xray taken. He told me I had to come back to Izmir..... I contacted the hospital in Fethiye yesterday and I had an email later saying that they don't accept their mammograms were sub standard. They contacted Izmir who don't remember my mammograms and their comments. In other words tough. While it looks like all's fine, and of course I hope it is. It has really shaken me to realise that I paid £65 to have these mammograms done and they told me I was OK on the strength of them. Now I know they were not good enough to make a diagnosis, I am really gutted. A dear friend here is in contact with several friends and she is seeing what they say about this. One is an Oncologist in the UK, One is a matron in a hospital here and one is in a private hospital in Izmir. I don't know what'll come of it but If I have to travel 4 hours again I want to be sure I get the tests done and finished with on the day without having to pay more money only to be told I still have to come back again.

Ohh how awful...I hope you don't have to go through all that again.
Well... I have my walking in and my food is on track. I need to get my water on track then I will be in the grove. I got to drive the hay truck yesterday. That was pretty cool. I am going to learn to drive my tracktor tomorrow. So that will be fun. This grown up stuff is hard work sometimes. I was so tired yesterday I fell asleep in the bath. But I did get to see Sex In The City and I LOVED it....Love Love Love it. I am going to see it again on Thursday. So I am now off to post some birthday presents and some other things. I hope everyone has a really great day.

Thanks Mimosa and Cosmic, I made a complaint to the hospital here but they are having none of it. I told them that I believe they use the same equipment in Ege as Esnaf but get different results which in my mind means the operator is at fault and needs retraining. No reply to that one.... I sent my notes to my friend's Matron friend today. Not sure what I'm achieving by this but I am going with my friend's advice before I go back to Izmir. She says I might have to pay more to go private in Izmir but it might be better than going back to Ege Univesity. Well, we'll see.

Oh Lynne what a total nightmare for you and you are still unsure of the outcome which must make it worse. Remind me not to complain too often about our NHS!

Ok I slept like crap last night. I was up every few hours. I think I am worried about my exam on Saturday. So I am showered and getting all my errands done in just a bit. I hope to clean my house inside this weekend.
I saw a really weird snake on the back basement porch yesterday evening. My brother is getting me this snake away stuff to put around the house. He said he had a black one on his front porch and either the snake had to go or his wife was going to make him move. However, the kids were like ohh cool. Mine wasn't black because if it was I would ok with that. They say if you have black snakes then there are no poison ones in the area. They are chicken snakes which also eat the mice at the barn. So between the snake and the cats at the barn there are no mice or rats. OK....that was yesterday adventure. I hope you all have a wonderful day. I did get all my exercise in yesterday and man am I tired. |

OMG my house is a MESS! Getting my kitchen plastered, so all the cabinets have had to come off, and about half the walls are now covered in plaster board. There is dust EVERYWHERE! I am going to upstairs in my office until it is finished! Hopefully by next week there will be less mess are the plastering will be done.

Snakes are always a bit of a worry. My SIL attracts them and has been bitten twice by poisonous ones.
Hope the 'snake away' works. Alcmene you have my sympathies, I have been through so many building experiences I hate that plaster dust, it gets everywhere. Spent my day washing and ironing, it was well overdue! |

We're just back from our couple of days on the Somerset coast. I love that part of the country - I hadn't been back for a while, and had forgotten just how much I like it. Glorious sunshine always helps, too

I ordered an exercise bike! W00t. It should come next week. I get the feeling I'm just more likely to use it than other stuff I have. Might even try doing it daily in the morning. I used to do morning spin class or the gym sometimes and it felt great to have the exercise out of the way for the day. Seems less likely to be cancelled for something else than when it's in the evening.

Hi all!
Sun is shining here, finally! A gloriously warm day already, and I'm sitting in airconditioning trying to do my job.... ![]() Have been really good with my exercise routine, and even my BF has noticed my bum being rounder and firmer... ![]() My menu for today: B: nothing but a cup of coffee, I overslept, and had no time ![]() L: ratatouille type veggie dish with a grilled chicken leg D: dunno, as usual I'm going out for dinner, but it will probably be something like tuna tartare with avocado and some grilled asparagus... Been to the hairdressers and have gone from shoulderlength wavy hair to realy short curly hair! I'm not sure myself yet, but I'm hoping it's just because it's such a big change! Anyway, it will be nice to have short hair for the summer! My washing machine still is not repaired, and it's driving me to distraction! ![]() ![]() ![]() Have a good day everyone! ![]() |

I have facebook too if anyone wants me....
I have been good today. WOOHOO Nose is still in the books. I am studying for Saturday. But tonight I am off to the pictures again. I dreamed about England last night. I am really missing it. I have days when I really miss being there. I am glad I am home but sometimes I miss the city. I also miss the lifestyle over there. So look around and think of something good that you take for granted daily in the UK. Because I sure do miss it. OK....well...I am off I will do my best to check in tomorrow. My food was ok exercise didn't happen today . I hope once exam is over with to be back on track. |
