black cohosh was about my best tip tho i have heard good things about maca (google it for best info)...for some reason the worst of hot flushes seem to have passed by (for now)
the thing i really hate the most is the forgetting and the loss of confidence in things like driving and finding places... gawd how i hate that i used to get into any car and drive anywhere anytime now i worry and as for my memory!!!... any suggestions for improving those 2 symptoms gratefully accepted isnt being a woman wonderful!!?? x |

I haven't particularly had memory/confidence problems - it's more that I get tired and depressed, so I can't be bothered to think about things, and just don't care . I'd never had hot flushes until last week, when they suddenly started to arrive every ten minutes (down to fairly mild and every couple of hours now). Who knows what's next?By the way, I missed where you're going for your holiday. Please tell? |

OK...so just thought I would check in.
I have been in the barn this morning cleaning. I had thrown down about 5 bales of hay and the horse have learned how to open the barn door. So they got in a broke open two bales. So I had to clean that up, use on they hadn't got to and put it out for them, and then I just did a tidy. It looks a lot better. It is really hot here. I try to get up early if I need to do anything out side so that I can be done before noon. Summer is really here and it is humid early too. Other than that I have my head in the books. I wish I was going on Holiday but it will October before that happens.

I knew I had problems when I began to drive through red lights, often! I think you can help things by doing thing like sodoku and cryptic crosswords and those brain training games.
I haven't bothered as you can probably tell. |

I had to give up sudoku, because I just find them addictive. I start to do them compulsively, and I was getting RSI from doing them online
. My brain wasn't working any better, though. Now I just do the one in the FT on Saturday, and the one in the Observer on Sunday. I can't do cryptic crosswords at all. |

Hi All
Can't believe you're on Page 5 and it is only the 6th of June!!!! Well - our stuff is now packed and this morning it is being loaded into a 20' Container. We are staying with friends and leave on Tuesday night. As Mum said we have several days in Dubai - can't wait for some warm weather and a dip in the pool! Feeling a little bit nervous - but am sure we'll manage - and if not - we'll move again! Lou - I know it was several pages ago - but I too am into Sci-Fi and Fantasy - don't admit it in public very often - but it was very embarrasing when I took my books to the second hand bookstore - and he's going through them all and there was a plethora of my current trend - Vampires and Werewolves - I'm sure he thought I was most wierd. Cute pic of me isn't it??? No longer a blond however - nor that small - nor would I ever wear a top that came up to my neck with a frill on it - now!!!! Shy - if Malta is having the same sort of weather as Cyprus - you should have a nice warm holiday - yummmm. Feels very cold here in Oz at the moment - but at least the rain has stopped. We're still in a drought but we have had loads of rain - just not over the dams! Typical! Do any of you stream internet TV on your computers? If so, do you have any recommendations for programs - free or to buy? I'm thinking of doing this - whilst we're waiting for our shipment to arrive. Big problem is that I can't work out what programs are on - and if they're not good I don't want to bother. Alright - on with the day - speak to you all soon.

Good morning, everyone
. Yesterday I did the routine supermarket shop. Today I have to go to a few different small shops to pick up bits and pieces for our weekend menus - we don't normally plan the food that much, just when we have visitors. It looks like a lovely day, so wandering around a bit will be quite nice.Vicky, hope the move goes well. |

OMG! Oppression! ![]() I used to be a total Sudoku fiend and did two or three a day! I still do one now and again, but I'm not as obsessed as I was. Crosswords are the ones I can't do. Well, easy ones maybe. TGIF. Going to make next week's meal plan and get my shopping list ready for tomorrow. |

Does anybody know what half and half translates to in terms of English names for cream? I'm doing a recipe that calls for it, as well as heavy cream. If I use double cream instead of heavy, and use some extra, with a bit of milk, would that be about right?

Can't be sure about the half and half, it is quite thin, not like single cream. I would do as you suggest I think, and guesstimate, that is how I cook anyway lol.
Vicky who will you be staying with in Brizzy, not the lovely Paul and Nes cos they have no room I know. I will investigate TV for you, I have been watching exercistv lately, not exercising you understand, just watching! We are buzzing cos Lou is back! |

Vicky, I must have missed something! Are you moving back to the UK?
Half and half I always transpose for single cream! I got some Langley Farm double cream the other day - 1.1 carbs per 100ml, it is AMAZING stuff, really nice! What's everyone doing this weekend? I am going to go see Neil Diamond tomorrow night ha ha ha! My friend Phil bought me a ticket as a pressie, which is dead nice of him as they are like £70. Am gonna feel weird as no doubt will be full of people the same age as my parents. I need to find something Neil Diamondy to wear too. |
