Happy Anniversary.....
I just have barn cats and a nutter of a dog. She ate soap again but just a small piece this time. I noticed because when I got in the shower my soap was gone. Right now she is working over a bone and being good. She also like to lie in the bay window and look outside. My mom has moved her dog bed there for when she is at her house. I keep saying I think she is part cat. She jumps up and gets in the window and is happy. She a boxer named Lucy Sue. I am supposed to be studying. I just cooked breakfast for my niece, scrambled eggs and bacon. She loves eggs and will drink her milk with that so that is a good thing.

Gosh Kissa l Love the smell of coconuts. I like that body butter from the Body Shop. It is great and I love the coconut smell or the coco smell. That is one of the best things about summer Coconut smelling tanning oil.

Morning everyone!
UGH! I feel awful... Totally my own fault... I ended up drinking one glass too many of this delicious cava, and now I'm paying the price... It also ended up being really late, so here I am, at work, feeling awful after 4 hours of sleep... My menu today: B: coffee and hardboiled egg L: creamed leek soup (no starchy things, I asked) and chicken in a mushroom type sauce D: tapas. Probably grilled asparagus, some tuna tartare, olives, sardines, and mini steaks... YUMMY! Have a good day everyone! |

Morning, everybody. I'm trying to get things lined up for a friend staying over the weekend, then going away Monday - Wednesday (we're going to Porlock Weir, just about as far west as you can go and still be on the Somerset coast).
I've been experimenting with ways to survive pre-menopausal symptoms, the worst of which is feeling tired and depressed, and, having found a herbal concoction that seems to help, went out this morning to see if I could get it in tablet form rather than having to fuss with putting drops in water while we're away - normally I don't bother about supplements and stuff when we go away, but it seems to make a big difference to how I feel at the moment, and I'll enjoy my trip more if I'm not plagued by yucky hormones. |

Hormones, -who'd have them!
What are the herbal items you are using with success? My DH will pay a lot for the cure. |

The one that seems to be helping at the moment is black cohosh. I've not been 100% better, but a lot less wiped out than without it. I've got some ayurvedic stuff that I'm thinking of trying, but I want to stick with just the black cohosh for a while so I can stand a chance of seeing which one does what - but everything's changing all over the place at the moment, so it's very hard to tell whether any variation is something I've done, or just the way the wind's blowing today

I used black cohosh to some effect but red clover is reckoned to be the best these days.
I was put on it by a nutritionist just before I went to Australia to help my libido. Oh dear, now I'll probably get my wrist slapped! Mucky talk. Sorry Mimosa, feel better soon and go buy new clothes! I'd love to go to the Edinburgh festival too! See MintQ8 aged one year in my avatar! |

Kissa, did you try the red clover? Did you find it better? I've only taken it as an infusion, not as an extract, and at that time I wasn't feeling so bad, so it's hard to tell if it made things better. Waaaa
![]() ![]() I just want all this to be over. Preferably leaving me able to sleep through the night, and have enough energy to get through the days, and maybe even a bit left over for fun . |

Well I use it yes, but I take so many supplements at the moment it is hard to say what works. I am way past the menopause at 61 and so I can't really say if it would help with your issues.
I take novogen red clover isoflavones. Look up Atkins on sleep issues he recommends Inositol which I also take. |

Thanks, Kissa. I don't think I need anything specifically for sleep at the moment. I usually sleep very well, but just had a couple of bad nights because I kept swinging between too hot and too cold. If I can settle my temperature a bit, the sleep should be OK - but you never know what's round the corner with this stuff, so it's useful to have some pointers

I have his book about nutritional healing. It is in London so I can't let you have the title until I am back there. He is a bit over the top with supplements but it makes interesting reading if you can lay your hands on a copy.
I went the HRT route for 5 years. |
