I'm moving to Jacksonville Florida in early July! I will actually be living in Orange Park. Any persons on here from any of that area? Looking to make some new friends!

Yep, I live in Jacksonville, but I'm pretty far from Orange Park! I'm closer to the beaches area. You'll love it here. We came from Chicago 13 years ago and it was the best move we've ever made! Welcome!

I live in Ocala, now (south of Jacksonville), Used to live in Sarasota (west coast). Lovely state to move to. Just don't be too shocked when looking for a job (if needed), as the salary base is lower than a lot of other states.

So, fill us in..... do you have family here? job transfer? of just wanted to enjoy the FL weather?

Even though this group is from all over the state, I'm sure we'd love to keep in touch with another low carb friend!!

Kalena, welcome to extremely warm weather several months out of the year. It does get hot here!!

I'm in Ocoee, just north west of Orlando, by a few minutes. I'd LOVE a meet up in the Orlando area!!!

Well actually I've got three kids 21 y/o son, 18 y/o daughter and an 11 y/o son. I was married to their dad for 18 years and I decided I wanted a divorce. We are both now retired from the Navy. My 21 y/o and 11 y/o live with their dad in Orange Park and my daughter lives in Texas with me. She's graduating and going to Jacksonville University. Well, my daughter instigated conversations between me and my ex-h and we are going to try again. We've been divorced for 5 years but have kept in very close contact. So, wish me luck. Honestly, it took me leaving to realize I had the best guy for me out there.

i do live in orange park...for now. My husband just got a job in Cinci so we're headed north come mid july (cross your fingers I can sell my house). I've been here for two years and have found it very easy to find friends. My neighborhood rocks, people are very friendly. I think it's a wonderful place. Humidity can be pretty bad in the summer but the rest of the year is great. We're far enough north that we get some cool weather in the winter ...40 in the morning 60 in the afternoon. That's not bad at all!
Where about in orange park are you going to be? It's a pretty large area. I'm in the fleming island/eagle harbor area.

jaxj5: We just found a house to rent in Eagle Harbor! I don't have a job yet but looking. Do you like the Eagle Harbor area it looks great. I haven't actually seen the house except for pics online but my boys and their father did and they said it was beautiful. I'm getting excited.

Your starting over...It's a very exciting time! Been there done that. Eagle Harbor is nice. I have friends that live there. They're happy with the community. Some complain about the cdd fees. But they like the pool...It's a Very Big community. And across C.R. 220 is Fleming Island which is another REALLY Big community. You couldn't have picked a better area!

I think you'll be very pleased. I'm tucked away 2 miles from both which I love because I get the good shopping, food and community without the big neighborhood, which is something I can do without. I'm in a dead end subdivision. There's no thru traffic. I know everyone of my neighbors and can identify every car....I'm a paranoid parent. This is my third house and it's been by far the best neighborhood I've ever lived in. I think in a smaller community we're able to look out for one another more closly. But they also respect my privacy. And they're fun too...I work from home and go play rock star with my neighbor some days. Yeah, she's in her 40s me in my mid 30s and we're playing Rockstar.
