Hello.... My husband and I just started Atkins last week and I'm sure we will be needing lots of support to reach our goals. We look forward to any help we can get, especially from local folk.

Well, hello fellow Iowans! Kim, I'm in CR as well....we will definately have to get together! Mike and Leslie, I heard about you two this afternoon in the chatroom, FatCat was telling me there was a woman from Olin there earlier. Guess I found ya!

Where in CR do you and your husband work?

Welcome to Atkins! I'm fairly new to this also, I started on 12/16/02 and have lost 15 pounds. I'm really needing some motiviation for excercising, just haven't found it yet. Too cold right now to do anything outside, so I have to find something that doesn't cost any money! Well, keep in touch and let me know when you want to get together.

Hi Netty... nice to meet you! My husband works at Collins and I work at their daycare center right next door. I have the benefit of being able to use the Rec Center's track for walking on my lunch break without having to pay for a membership. We also went dancing on Friday night at Buck's....we had a great time and got lots of cardiovascular exercise.

We will definitely have to plan a get together as soon as someone figures out where we can go that is low-carb...LOL We've been staying away from restaurants to avoid the temptation.

That's nice that you and your hubby can work so closely together! Also that you can use their fitness center! I haven't quite gotten to the point of working out yet...kinda lacking motivation, ya know.

I work at Linn-Mar and right now the winter season is incredibly busy. How does feb look for people??

We actually have quite a few Iowa people.

Kim..... anytime will work for us. We keep our lives pretty simple so we have time to do the things we want to do. What are your ideas for a get-together? where?

Netty, I know about lacking motivation but you gotta start with just one step...then another....if you only walk half a block and back, it's a start. Or go to the Mall where it's warmer and walk. You can do it

The first day I barely made it around the track once....now I'm doing it 10 times and it still isn't easy. I breathe hard and my legs hurt but I'm determined.

Our last get together was at Bennigans at Coral Ridge. But, it sounds like more people are from CR, so we could do something here. A weekend lunch maybe?

Sorry, my computer was out of commision for a couple days. I have a friend in Illinois that is moving towards the end of the month...I was going to go help her, so anytime before the end of the month would be fine with me. A weekend lunch, brunch...dinner sounds great! At least just a chance to meet, greet and get to know a little better! That's always a good thing! Let me know, guys. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
