Sounds like some of you are going to be busy bees in the next months!
Here, a bit more quiet...

My best friend is visiting this weekend,
Next weekend my BF's family is visiting.
After that both BF and myself have a flat full of guests,
Then we are going away for a weekend to the Balearics,
After that I have one weekend off,
Then a wedding
The weekend after that I am going to Holland to see friends, a band and family,
After that I'm off on my summer hols for 2 weeks, and when I get back we are in August, and thankfully I haven't made any plans!

In the heat (people say it gets terribly hot and humid here...) I don't really want to be entertaining anyone...

Diet is quite good, I'm still maintaining and this seems to be without any effort, but I'm still keeping an eye on things. I don't think I can ever really completely relax about my food intake and the type of food I eat!
Good thing is, is that here I'm eating pretty clean, so for that the Spanish diet is great! Lots of fresh fish, great meat and very little cheese. Veggies are not eaten much, but they do have some wonderful peppers and tomatoes, and right now I'm eating lots of asparagus and artichokes...

My menu today:
B: my usual, too much coffee!
L: Salad and a chicken breast, maybe a little bread with some olive oil too..
D: I'm being taken out to a Michelin starred restaurant tonight, to celebrate a fragrance award that I won for one of my perfumes, so the diet's out the window!

Have a good day everyone!

Congratulations on the award - and the dinner! Actually, those sorts of places aren't usually heavy on the carbs, and the portions aren't huge either, so while it wouldn't work to eat that way every day, it's less of a bash to the diet than many cheaper places. Hope you have a wonderful meal, anyway.

Are you near the coast - I saw you mentioned the great fish? I've only been to spain once, but I particularly remember some fantastic grilled sardines, and an amazing fish stew in a kind of Portakabin style hut on a beach. The sherry was good too .

Ailuros: I'm in Barcelona, so in the big city, not far away from the mountains and on the beach! Life just can't get any better!

The fish is just fabulous here, the variety and freshness is amazing!

My BF is taking me for the dinner to celebrate. The award was already given to the designer who gets to put his name on the fragrance... The people who actually create the fragrances are usually not recognised, unfortunately....

Gosh, just re-read my post - I'm even dizzy and tired reading it!!!

Mimos, you have some exciting stuff happening too

I also forgot - I'm going to see Neil Diamond in June in Birmingham - think I was a bit 'merry' one Saturday night, dancing with my friend to Sweet Caroline, I agreed to keep her company I couldn't go back on my word, so she's had the tickets for weeks now - should be good craic though.

btw...I've had another successful LC day

Happy losing,
Cx

Hi all. I'm going to see Neil Diamond too (at the 02). Had totally forgotten that my hubbie had bought us tickets for Xmas (I was about to have a baby then so it's all a bit of a blur.) Both me and my hubbie grew up with parents who listened to Neil Diamond so it's a real trip down memory lane. V exciting.

Hope everyone's good and enjoying the amazing weather we've been having. I've been playing with the girls in the garden everyday and thoroughly enjoying my maternity leave. My 2 year old now uses the birthing pool (we had a homebirth) as a paddling pool!

Gearing up now for a holiday to Crete in just under 2 weeks so doing strict induction until then to try and drop a few pounds.

I am already in Devon! Drove down yesterday, here until early June.

Mrs Mad....you clearly are mad, but we like that here. I lived in the Isle of Man a child, right on the TT course at Quarterbridge.

I have decided to join Mint Q8 and do a bit of Intuitive Eating with McKenna's help. We did it a few years ago with some success but I slipped into just eating what I wanted without all the other guidelines!

I have been craving fruit so this is good time of the year to try it. I do know that I wont be craving loads of potatoes, pasta, rice and deserts, they put me to sleep!

Wish me luck!

Hey

I love fruit in summer, when it is hot!

I am going to see Neil Diamond on Manchester and I cannot wait, I am going to dress up so need to start trawling EBay for something suitable. What should I wear?

Wow Kissa - small world. I've been going to the Isle of Man since I was a baby as mum used to rally. We've aways been into motorbikes (I'm from Northern Ireland) and I lived on the island for a while as I used to work at Noble's Hospital

Then I met my hubby there in 2001 (the year of foot and mouth and there was no racing - how's that for fate? )

Now it's our annual pilgrimage, although the week costs us about £1250 and I think we could get 2 weeks all inclusive somewhere really nice for the same money. However, there is a certain draw....

Random question for you ladies. I see all over this site that lots of people eat sausages but every type I find seem to have loads of carbs. What brand do you go for and if I go to BBQ am I best just sticking with the pure meat rather than the sausages because they're an unknown?

I think the duchy original chipolatas are just meat and seasoning. But they're thin, of course, not a nice fat juicy banger. It's a long time since I looked - I've been getting the ones my butcher makes. I think they're about 4g carb per sausage, which I don't mind, but uses up a big chunk of your allowance if you're sticking to 20g per day.

Go for the 'finest'/'taste the difference'/'the best' ranges - check the carb count on the back. We usually go for Pork and Leek, or plain pork. No more than 3-4g carbs/100g (I think). I also get some very nice one's at my local butchers - they're real erm.....meaty but have no idea of carb count, so we keep for special occaissons e.g. summer barbie with friends, etc.

It's still one of my favourite places - still quaint and no concept of time (no offence to manx peeps who may be reading this). We love the place, which is why it's a fair chunk of our annual holiday budget - oh and the new motorbike blew the rest of the 'non-essentials' budget, and I then had to buy a second hand conservatory from Ebay. How does that work then?

Yup, finest or generally posher bangers seem to be the lowest carb options.

I caught head lice in Nobles Hospital when I was 4. Lol. Nowadays that would be considered a blessing compared to all the terrible bugs that are everywhere.

I agree on the sausages, they are a real "you get what you pay for" item and you have to go for the quality ones. Tesco Finest do a nice range. Or even better if you've got a good old fashioned family butcher who will make some for you to your specifications.

If you have the time and like that sort of thing, they're pretty easy to make. I do it sometimes, and sometimes I buy them. We don't have a freezer, so making big batches isn't feasible, but I just bought a £10 attachment for my mixer, that basically consists of a plastic tube that fits on the mincer. You put the sausage skin (can get them on-line or from a friendly butcher) onto the tube, then put the minced meat through, as if you were mincing it again, and the mincer screw pushes it into the skins. It's like a miniature version of the machine the butcher uses.

Sausages - either Black Farmers or the Gluten Free Debbie and Andrew's Favourite Harrogate Pork Sausages are good, check the labels.

Thanks everyone for your advice. The ones I'd got are Tesco finest chipolatas. They have approx 2 carbs for 2 (rather thin) sausages. I was wondering if I could do better than that!

Hi all checking in....

Things are nuts with the end of school. I have been working a lot. I am also waiting to hear from the Audiology board. That is driving me nuts and waiting on exam results. But other than that things are good. Exercising and on track with my food. However, last night I was having some serious food dreams. Hummm not sure what that is all about.

Ohh and Goat Farmer broke his hand being a man. So he had surgery Tuesday. I do feel a little bit sorry for him but then there is the part of me that laughs at him being stupid.
Everything else appears to be ok today.

Hey all!

You are lucky in the UK, here in Spain they don't label the sausages properly, or at least I can't read it properly, so I have no clue what's in them or how many carbs they have...

Cosmic: Glad all is well, I remember waiting for my university degree results, and it was very stressful, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Kissa/Cindy: WOW!!!! You look absolutely stunning in your avatar pic!!!! Was this taken in Oz? Beautiful!!!!!

I am still in grey weather, so please send me some sunshine this weekend... I have a friend coming over, and would like to have the weather I'm always bragging about!
