The following is a list of names who need to either
pay full deposit OR
go back to your reservation form and change it to "unassigned" OR
... SEND ME AN EMAIL OR PM WITH YOU APPROVAL FOR THE CRUISE LADY TO CHANGE THE STATUS.

************************************************

All of the other pending forms want room assignment – so we have to go back to them to verify that they authorize the full per person deposit. If you can get the ok from the following persons, I will process all of the pending forms today:

Robin M
Ailsa Washington
Amy Dungan
Jennifer Gregornik/Kim Cox (they are paying separately)
Kimberly Eidson
Autumn Eidson
Cynthia Pagan
Christine Moore

– I am going to be unable to keep their room assignments without the full deposit. Thanks!

OKAY... ARGH... there is a lot of confusion regarding the "assigned / unassigned" thing. So here is what I told the cruise person:

ALL CABINS WILL BE UNASSIGNED SO THAT WE CAN BE IN OUR GROUP AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE A SPECIFIC ROOM, THEN YOU MUST CONTACT AMELIE AND TELL HER -- AND PAY $200 PER PERSON AS A DEPOSIT FOR A SPECIFIC ROOM.

This isn't about "inside cabins", window cabins, or suites -- this is about specifically reserving a cabin number and not allowing for an upgrade with the rest of the group.

AND WHILE ON THE SUBJECT -- please remember to mark your dinner seating as "early" with the rest of the group.

Ok so I know the deposit deadline has been extended... but we really want this "Low Carb Convention" to be fantastic!! It's Friday.. Payday! Get those deposits in if you're still on the fence... Better to reserve a spot and save up the rest of the money than miss it totally.

Don't forget... DR JOHNNY BOWDEN will be there!! I know that he would love to get a chance to visit with so many of us low-carbers trying to make this a lifestyle change. Let's get together for a fantastic time!

I'm getting a few questions from people needing a cabin mate. Please PM me if you would need to see if there is someone from your area going on the cruise.

Also -- there can be 3 people to a cabin which can reduce your ticket price a little bit. They have a few cabins with 3 bunk beds. I'm not sure of the price break, but it's pretty good.

.... and one last thing. As we get closer, excitement will build. If you really want to go, consider it! We had fun last year and this year will be even better.

I can't agree more Becky..

Want a testimonial from someone who's gone... don't know if it's really worth it? I can hook you up!

I am so excited about the personalities that will be joining us this year. This is the perfect chance for all of us to really learn first hand about healthy low carbing from some real bonefide experts!

Hi-
I was wondering about the airport transfer-I haven't bought an airline ticket yet but was wondering-will a limo or taxi or something be picking us up at the airport and where will they take me if I come in a day early? Also when will they take us back to the airport after the cruise? (trying to plan my return flight time) what is a reasonable time to expect to be getting off the boat and through customs?

Also any news on what excursions are available and their cost?

thanks!

Excursions won't be available for booking until all tickets are paid for (December).

There is only a transport to the docks from the main airport in Houston - Bush International. I think it is around $60. It is kind of tight getting around. It takes at least and hour to an hour and 1/2 to get from the airport to the docks. So allow PLENTY of time. The ship starts boarding at least by 1pm and PULLS out at 4pm. We had one passenger miss the boat last year. AND then when we got BACK to port it took HOURS to get through customs, so don't schedule an early flight home.

Here is the official email about it:

I also wanted to emphasize the importance of making sure your scheduling allows for plenty of time. Like Becky said, we did have one girl that missed the boat last year, while Carnival did send her down to meet us in Cozumel, she also missed our formal night and a full day of fun. Sooo... make sure that you are scheduling your flight for either the day before (hotel in Galveston is really NOT expensive at all, especially during that time of the year since it's off season) OR EARLY on the day of the cruise... what happened with that girl was a delay due to bad weather.. I think she was delayed for 2 hours or so... (flight was supposed to get in around noon) flight got to Houston in time, but due to the delay in getting baggage and down to the port... she missed the boat. It also depends on your departure number when we arrive back in Galveston, but getting through customs can take even up till 1-2 in the afternoon.

I'm starting to work on/think up some great get-together activites so if you haven't signed up yet, do it! This will be so much fun and so informative too! What are the chances that you would get to brush shoulders with some of these great LC experts!?

I have read the entire thread at least 3 times and I'm liking the idea of coming in on Sunday.... I'm going to check the flights but Southwest hasn't opened up January yet... I'm guessing that's the airline we fly in on...

I'm going TRY and get my mom and step dad in on this....... they are currently ON the LC wagon..... My hubby was worried that they WOULDn't have the MIDNIGHT BUFFET.. (he is as far left from being LC as you can imagine) Sugar is his main foodgroup! I assured him that this was a regular Carnival cruise (with perks) He's never been on a cruise, and for me it was 1 time on Royal Carribean, about 13 years ago with girlfriends...

I guess this will really give me motivation to lose the last 30 lbs!

Thanks for setting this all up.. HOW EXCITING!

Woohoo! Welcome Tracy, so glad to have you with us!

Assure your DH that there IS a midnight buffet. LOL There is also the formal night, and everything else that goes with a "regular" Carnival cruise. The buffet is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. and there actually are LC choices even in that! They had these really cute little deviled egg boats that were really yummy! I admired the dessert table, but fortunately was able to shy away from partaking haha!

Great motivation though and welcome aboard!
