I forgot to change my siggy, but I went up to 241, and sat there until I had a seriously high carb weekend - Monday of last week put me at 246.9 I did a very very clean week of induction, and managed to drop 10 pounds - mostly water I know, but the end of the week was fat comming off.

I'm working toward fighting the yeasties, so I'm staying very clean and slowly eliminating dairy and upping the good antifungals. And will stay with that through the holidays.

Hi,y'all,

Welcome SlimMoeDee and WenB.

Hang in there, lowcarbprincess, you can do it. Know just what you mean about stress.

DiSA, I know about those stalls. Looking back, I can say to myself, "was eating the whatever really worth it?"

Dewlover, great recipe for pumpkin as fall is here.

I had a three day period of meetings, etc., that I wasn't able to stay on plan like I'd like, so today, I am up instead of down. I can't afford to be complacent, so today I bought veggies, cleaned them and am never going to leave home without them again where work is concerned. Nobody ever gained weight on a lb of cauliflower!

However, today is my B'day so, I asked my DH to cook something at home and invite close friends/family with SB things I could eat. The only item I am going to indulge in is a piece of my B'day treat, homemade Pumpkin bread DH is making. I will send the rest home with all the guests!

Tonight, I am going hiking at the state park near me, this am, I did a Bodyflex aerobic toning tape, so I am off on the exercise again.

here is the menu today:
b-glass of 1% hood lc milk, chocolate
l- cup of cottage cheese, w/ olive slices, diet cranbery juice
d-b'day dinner will be:
chicken in the crock pot with mushroom soup, artichoake hearts, celery , onion, ( I love the soup flavor, but I won't eat much on my chicken), brussel sprouts, carrots, cooked (I love them, don't eat them often), spinach salad w/ lc dressing, slice of pumpkin bread w/ whipped cream.

Have a great day, all.

Glad there are some new faces here.

We can do this!

Happy Birthday slendercate! Hope you have a wonderful day! Got a few raindrops here in Austin - pretty much just a tease. But it sure has cooled down. Got a pot of white chicken chili simmering for dinner. Talk to everyone soon...Eileen

Happy Belated Birthday Slendercate!!! I have reached the age where I just want a special day for me without having to think about the number! Ha! I just wanted to share with you all something. I have been on this WOE since June 16....lost a total of 13 pounds in 14 weeks....pretty discouraging but I was still determined to stay on this WOE because of the way I feel. Well, my hubbie was in the hospital the last 10 days and his doctor came in and was talking about how important keeping his 'functions' going was. He was given lots of meds but also fiber supplements, etc. I ran out to Walmart, bought a bottle of fiber supplements, started taking them (one in the morning and one at night..the bottle says 5-6 a day) and I have lost 3 pounds this week. For me that is a miracle! Haaaaa....anyway....those of you in a stall might want to try this out. Good Luck to all my fellow Texans!

Dewlover, sorry to hear about your DH, hope he's getting better. I am eating very little veggies but I think the heavy cream in my morning coffee and the fat in my meat keeps me regular? I am taking a multivitamin w/minerals and I wondered if that might be helping too because up to now I have always had problems with being regular?

Slendercate, Hope you had a Happy Birthday

Disa,
I have a question for you... I am up due to TOM almost 3 lbs (typical for me, i can smell food and gain weight, lol!) anyways, was thinking of doing the egg/meat thing...Now what I would like to do also is maybe have a little mayo w/some tuna, maybe a handfull of shredded cheese, is that a no no to make it work? Just curious and you seem very sucessful at it so Id love some examples or tips..
thanks so much!

Hi Lisa, I think any change in our diet makes a difference so mayo and a bit of cheese is still reducing the carbs to a very low amount. I really think any change in a diet during a cycle will show up when your cycle ends, like a whoosh.
Also note, the two weeks following your cycle are the best time of your month for your body, if you plan a lowcarb diet and follow it through, you will most definitely see a change. It's all about planning, easy to food with Protein/Fat will take you a long way and if you get hungry, eat more Protein/Fat.

i have been eating like that but not w/results too well so I was wondering what Im doing wrong, maybe too much dairy or 'fake sugar' when i had a craving so I am going to try to cut the fake sugar out and see if that helps perhaps... I can easily graze on ground beef in a bowl, tuna, scrambled eggs so we shall see what happens.... Thank you VERY much!!

Howdy Y'all! I mentioned above that I was taking 2 fiber therapy capsules every day...the brand is the regular (Walmart) store brand (I am afraid to mention it but it rhymes with e-flate) Ha! The ingredient is 100% natural psyllium husk fiber. They are working well for me. However, you might want to go to the regular message board. There is a long line of info from one veteran poster (Tooter) who has researched fiber and has found it to be personally harmful to her. My face started getting hot when I read some of it! Oh boy.....I guess our search for what works is really a personal one anyway. I just know that I am always glad to hear of any ideas that have worked for others. Maybe the fiber wasn't the key (though I do have problems with regularity normally). But I will continue to use it as well as make sure I have salads and lots of green (legal) vegies!

Hey Lisa

Plano is plenty close...all my Dr's are in Plano, in fact, I am gonna be in Plano all day tomorrow....I have a Mammogram (my 1st...scarrrrrry) scheduled at 8am and then i will have several hours of downtime between that and a 245p calcium scoring of my heart...

Do you work in Plano or happen to be a stay-at-home? We could get together for bunless burgers..woohoo...

Lemme know...

I have a girl crush on Pink...LOL She is sassy!

TTG, a loss like that is very possible, now the thing to know is that the next couple of weeks may not provide that rate of loss or none at all so set your mind to keep the loss off.

Changes are still taking place in your body and you may not see it in the numbers, I promise changes are occuring and your body will be using fat for energy (just to function through a day), keep the carbs down and just let your body do the rest.

If you keep the carbs down your hunger and cravings will stay away.

Eat to live, don't live to eat.

MAKE THIS A WOL NOT JUST A DIET! IT REALLY DOES WORK!

I'M SO EXCITED FOR YOU!

I also noticed on the weeks that I did not lose weight I would wake up each morning and FEEL the difference in my body, really it is wonderful.
You figure 4lbs is a huge amount of fat and the body has to rid itself of it, it's a process.

Hola

No prob on the raincheck Lisa.

Here is an update I also posted an in induction thread am on on in the induction area....

So far today here is my record:

late in the evening about 230am woke up starved since I had no dinner: 2 oz cheddar and one celery stalk and a cup of SF koolaid

breakfast: a double burger with one slice cheese, pickles, onion, tomato and jalapeno all chopped to make like a pico MINUS the bun and ketchup of course and a large water

Lunch: crustless pizza from cici's...they will make it for you with whatever tooppings you want, you just have to tell them very little sauce or they'll drown it...I had sausage, onion, black olive and mushroom.

Snack: (about this point I am wanting to break down) so I ate 2 pineapple chunks, one celery stalk with about a 1/2 tblspoon of peanut butter and 2 oz cheddar cheese and I have a Sprite Zero in the freezer now.

Ugggghhhhh, today has been rough but I think I am still doing well.

I MUST STAY STRONG......WEEEEE MUST STAY STRONG AND BATTLE THE CRAVINGS...THINK ABOUT HOW RIDICULOUS IT IS THAT WE ARE ALLOWING SUGAR/CARBS TO RUN OUR LIVES....WE HAVE TO TAKE CONTROL!!!!

HANG IN THERE GUYS AND THANKS FOR BEING THERE FOR ME AND EVERYONE!!!!!

From my journal today:
My weight was the same this morning 182, this was my goal since my loss of 4lbs was rather much for one week I had hoped to maintain my loss.
I have been having a veggie with one meal per day and I have been eating 3 meals a day.
My plan for this next week is eggs/meat only (I think I feel better this way) and I believe I do better on 2 meals a day. If I have 3 meals there is no derailment, if I have veggies, there is still no derailment! My cheats would be legal.....

Feeling good, wearing my new Michael Khor jeans that I bought when I started this WOL back in August, they are a 14 and did not close, today.....they are very comfortable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG DiSa...YOU ROCK!!!!

First of all, I would KILL to be in a pair of size 14 jeans and would double kill for them to be a pair of Michael Kors!!!! LUCKY LOL

I am sorry none of use replied to the dinner invite...I just now saw it. I would LOVE to do dinner one night with all of us....Maybe somewhere we can order a big fat steak with mushrooms and tell the waiter if he brings rolls near us we will attack him! HA!

Ooooooo, ya know a good place to go would be one of the brazilian places like Fogo de Chao etc.

Anywho, I am struggling to find variety and then in the same breath I try to remind myself that induction isn't about variety, it is about strength and willpower. Everytime I want to break down I tell myself how silly it is to let something that will have a very short lived "high" control me...grrrrrrrrrrr

I think the scale is pretty much the same so far....still around 209..maybe close to 207 but hard to tell...I am expecting a slow down now after the 9 lb "Woosh" that came with the 1st 3 days.

DiSa...not sure if you saw it but I posted my number for everyone 214-632-8808...I am pretty open most evenings if my teens dont have something they need me for.

I have a question for some of you that have been doing this a long time... anytime I have done this to lose a substantial amount of weight it took me a while..(now im talking 75+lbs took close to a little less than a year) and yet I see so many losing 3-5lbs a WEEK... I dont eat alot, I know probably too little, but thats just how I am and how my lifestyle is. Am I the only one that loses a little slower? (I feel content if I lose 8-10lbs a month) I'm just curious how everyone does, sometimes I get a little depressed thinking I'm not losing fast enough and othertimes I realize its ok, give it time and it'll happen...
Just curious of everyones thoughts/process/kept it off, etc...?
Thanks, have a GREAT weekend yall!
