Coloradans - where to buy lowcarb?
I am having a horrible time finding lowcarb food and products in the grocery stores of north Denver. Even my neighborhood Albertsons seems to have pulled most of the lowcarb products from their shelves (with the exception of EAS products which seem to be everywhere!)
Anyone from Colorado with suggestions on where to find lowcarb-friendly food and supplements? I've tried King Soopers, GNC, SuperTarget and Albertsons. |

I live in colorado and the whole Foods stores seem to have a lot of low carb products. The only problem is they are rather pricey. I know there is a whole Foods store in Boulder and Ft. Collins. I'm sure there is one in a city as large as Denver.

LC locations help!
Hello. There are certain things that you can buy locally...but alot of the specialty things you will have to order online.
Here is where I get my stuff: Sam's Club/Costco: All the basics here...really good price on heavy cream, eggs, meat, olive oil, nuts, cheese, etc... They also sell lc bars by the case. You can also get a case of 700 packets of Splenda for $13.00 here! Walgreen’s: I buy the Pure De-lite Chocolate bars here and my Ketostix. Some Walgreen’s have a good selection of Atkins products. And I have seen several shakes and bars here. Wild Oats: There is one by the Westminster Mall. You can find alot of goodies here if you browse the aisles. I found the black soybeans here in a can that Atkins suggests for chili. Vitamin Cottage: There is one around 80th and Wadsworth roughly. They have many little things too. Good place to get the various powders you need. Also in the refrigerator section they have ground almonds. I have used them instead of almond flour with a nice result. Basically you just have to look around a lot. It would help if you tell me what exactly it is that you are looking for?

I'm in the Springs and my Safeway has an entire isle for atkins products, they can be pricey. The pancake mix is great, as is the muffin and just tryed the cornbread mix, even the lc'ers in the family love it.
I totally agree with luna re; shopping at Sam's for cream, eggs, bacon, lc bars, olive oil, cheese. and the little jug of dry roasted almonds. Walmart (otherwise know as the 7th circle of hell) has a good selection of bars, shakes etc. |

I'm in Longmont and there is a great healthfood store here called Healthway Foods. They have a lot of the Keto line and Atkins.
I buy bars and shakes at Sam's. Also, King Soopers has some stuff... Does anyone know any local stores that sell La Tortilla Factory LC Tortillas? |

Hey....
It looks like there are several of us women LC'ing in the Denver metro area. Want to try having a get-together? We could share recipes, ideas, support, etc. If anyone is interested, please feel free to email me, and I'd be happy to coordinate that for us.
BTW, I just mainly buy my "whole food" LC stuff at Kind Soopers. They have a great variety of meats, cheeses, etc. I have found, though, that some have a much better selection than others. Tony's Meat Market (there are at least 3 in Denver) has wonderful gourmet meats and cheese, but they are pretty spendy. For the packaged stuff, it's hard to beat Wal-Mart for low prices (and poor selection) or Vitamin Cottage for variety (and moderate prices.) I buy my Just the Cheese Snacks at Vitamin Cottage and I couldn't live w/o them!! I found the Wild Oats on Colorado Blvd to be very expensive, had a poor selection, and very NOT knowledgable sales-people. I asked a woman working there where to find low-carb stuff, and first she seemed not to have ever heard of Low-Carb. Then, she directed me to some vegetable chips that had 17 g of carbs per serving. If you have a Whole Foods market nearby, they do have great ready-to-eat green salads. -Suz |

I think it would be great to have a get together sometime. I live in Greeley but go to Denver all of the time. I think the Denver people like to refer to us as pumpkin farmers. LOL

After going to a couple of stores here in Colorado Springs that were listed on the Atkins site as carrying their products I ended up hitting the phone and calling them all. What a PITA! Most of them won't have more than some Adv Bars and maybe shakes. I found one Safeway that had some of the bakemixes...but for now I ended up ordering a bunch of stuff on Netrition.com. Their prices are better and shipping is $ 4.95 no matter what the order is.
I have now discovered a few things at Walmart, and I'm going to keep looking for other options. At least I have a good start of supplies that should bring a little variety to the menu if the cravings hit home!
